Supabase storage download return undefined - javascript

I'm trying to download a CSV from a supabase bucket and parse it. Currently, I'm getting "undefined" for the file. See code below:
const { file, error } = await supabase.storage.from('bulk-uploads').download('csv/218c1ad526a2e9d2cbacd9e49587c2e777a5bdd71675166133663.csv')
if (error) {
throw error;
}
console.log("File Downloaded",file)
// parse the file
let filedata = Papa.parse(file).data
The file in console.log returns an undefined value. So I'm not sure if bucket permissions are wrong or something else is wrong.The file does exist on the bucket.
How can I get the file correctly?
Thanks

Reading file attachments (Ex; .txt file) - Discord.JS

Second time posting on StackOverflow so I apologize for any mistakes.
Please bear with me.
Same with the title; How do you read contents of a discord attachment let's say a .txt file and print the contents?
I have tried with fs but unfortunately failed and I have also searched the documentation but failed also.
Ideas?
You can't use the fs module for this as it only deals with local files. When you upload a file to the Discord server, it gets uploaded to a CDN and all you can do is grab the URL of this file from the MessageAttachment using the url property.
If you need to get a file from the web, you can fetch it from a URL using the built-in https module, or you can install one from npm, like the one I used below, node-fetch.
To install node-fetch, run npm i node-fetch in your root folder.
Check out the working code below, it works fine with text files:
const { Client } = require('discord.js');
const fetch = require('node-fetch');
const client = new Client();
client.on('message', async (message) => {
if (message.author.bot) return;
// get the file's URL
const file = message.attachments.first()?.url;
if (!file) return console.log('No attached file found');
try {
message.channel.send('Reading the file! Fetching data...');
// fetch the file from the external URL
const response = await fetch(file);
// if there was an error send a message with the status
if (!response.ok)
return message.channel.send(
'There was an error with fetching the file:',
response.statusText,
);
// take the response stream and read it to completion
const text = await response.text();
if (text) {
message.channel.send(`\`\`\`${text}\`\`\``);
}
} catch (error) {
console.log(error);
}
});
reply to #Andryxa, maybe you can use this with external APIs like a transcription service in case of audio files or to send requests to already created bots from services like dialogflow to replies to the messages

How to check if a file exists in my firebase storage in nodejs

I tried to do it like how they do it in this post's answer how to check if file exists in Firebase Storage?
But I keep getting a error when I try to use that #google-cloud/storage package.
Is there another way of checking if a file exists without catching and throwing an error?
This is how I'm currently uploading the file, which is an image, to my firebase
firebase.storage().ref('users/'+user.uid + '/profile.jpg').put(file.target.files[0]).then( () => {
console.log("Successfully uploaded image")
}).catch(error => {
console.log("Error uploading image: " + error);
});
This is the line of code that causes it to break
const {Storage} = require('#google-cloud/storage');
And I get this error in the console. util.js:602 Uncaught TypeError: The "original" argument must be of type Function
Any ideas or tips?

Problems Downloading files using Dropbox JavaScript SDK

I need to figure out where my files are downloading when I use the filesDownload(). I don't see an argument for file destination. Here's my code:
require('isomorphic-fetch');
var Dropbox = require('dropbox').Dropbox;
var dbx = new Dropbox({ accessToken: 'accessToken', fetch});
dbx.filesDownload({path: 'filepath}).
then(function(response) {
console.log(response);
})
.catch(function(error) {
console.log(error);
});
I'm getting a successful callback when I run the code but I don't see the file anywhere.
I need to know where my files are downloading to and how to specify the file destination in my function.
Thanks,
Gerald
I've used the function as described in the SDK's documentation (http://dropbox.github.io/dropbox-sdk-js/Dropbox.html#filesDownload__anchor) but I have no idea where my file goes.
Expected Result: Files are downloaded to Dropbox to path that I have designated.
Actual Results: I get a successful callback from Dropbox but I cannot find the files downloaded.
In Node.js, the Dropbox API v2 JavaScript SDK download-style methods return the file data in the fileBinary property of the object they pass to the callback (which is response in your code).
You can find an example of that here:
https://github.com/dropbox/dropbox-sdk-js/blob/master/examples/javascript/node/download.js#L20
So, you should be able to access the data as response.fileBinary. It doesn't automatically save it to the local filesystem for you, but you can then do so if you want.
You need to use fs module to save binary data to file.
dbx.filesDownload({path: YourfilePath})
.then(function(response) {
console.log(response.media_info);
fs.writeFile(response.name, response.fileBinary, 'binary', function (err) {
if (err) { throw err; }
console.log('File: ' + response.name + ' saved.');
});
})
.catch(function(error) {
console.error(error);
});

Upload stream to azure blob storage

I would upload an audio file to azure blob storage.
First I make a http request to url to get the file .
Then I would "directly" save it to azure blob storage without the need to store it in server then upload it.
Here's my code:
request
.get(url, {
auth: {
bearer: token
}
})
.on("response", async function(response) {
const res = await blobService.createAppendBlobFromStream(
"recordings", // container name
"record.wav",
response, // should be stream
177777, // stream length
function(err, res) {
try {
console.log(res);
} catch (err) {
console.log(err);
}
}
);
});
Actually when I upload a file in blob storage and check my database I get an empty file with no data inside, I think I'm not sending the data stream correcty.
What I expect is to get the audio file in blob storage with data inside that I get from the get request
I should also specify the stream length but I don't know how to get it I putted a random number but it should be the right stream length. I have checked response object but I havn't found that infomation.
I think you can't upload a file directly so first of all create a folder in your blob storage then create a file.
Read the selected file data and write it into the created file using file stream or else.
here is the upload file code,
app.post('/upload',function(req,res){
if(req.files.fileInput){
var file = req.files.fileInput,
name = file.name,
type = file.mimetype;
var uploadpath = __dirname + '/uploads/' + name;
file.mv(uploadpath,function(err){
if(err){res.send("Error Occured!")}
else {res.send('Done! Uploading files')}
});
}
else {
res.send("No File selected !");
res.end();
};
})

Error creating json file in node js

I have followed many solutions provided in the previous questions but mine is not working. The problem is in .json extension. Whenever I use filename.json, the app will crash with ERR_CONNECTION_RESET but successfully created an empty .json file. However, if I change the extension to filename.txt, the fs.writeFile will successfully create the filename.txt with the data inside and the app will work as expected. Did I miss any configuration here to create the JSON file?
Here is the example code I used.
var jsonData = '{"persons":[{"name":"John","city":"New York"},{"name":"Phil","city":"Ohio"}]}';
// parse json
var jsonObj = JSON.parse(jsonData);
console.log(jsonObj);
// stringify JSON Object
var jsonContent = JSON.stringify(jsonObj);
console.log(jsonContent);
fs.writeFile("./public/output.json", jsonContent, 'utf8', function(err) {
if (err) {
console.log("An error occured while writing JSON Object to File.");
return console.log(err);
}
console.log("JSON file has been saved.");
});
So, ERR_CONNECTION_RESET means that the connection was closed midway. My guess, as in the comments, would be that it's a reloading server.
Try using --ignore public/**/*.json and it should work.
