Starting off, The goal is to have a span element fade in, show a comment indicator, then fade out, after that change the comment indicator (content), and start back from the beginning. Is there anyway to do this in CSS or JS? Currently, it's very upfront with no ease and just switches content.
Here is the steps:
Fade In
Show Comment Indicator (Content)
Fade Out
Change Comment Indicator (Content)
Fade In (Start back at 1)
ETC.
HTML:
<h1 id="about-header"><span id="comment-indicator-start">//</span> About Me <span id="comment-indicator-end"></span></h1>
CSS:
#about-header #comment-indicator-start, #comment-indicator-end {
display: none;
}
#about-header::before {
content: "//";
animation: fadey 1.6s linear forwards, comments-start 8s;
}
#keyframes fadey {
0% {opacity: 0;}
100% {opacity: 1;}
}
#about-header::after {
content: " ";
animation: comments-end 8s;
}
#keyframes comments-start {
0% {
content: "//";
}
20% {
content: "#";

content: "<!--";
}

content: "/*";
}

Background
I found the closest solution that has most of what I asked for. Including the fading in and out with changing content in CSS.
Issue/Needed Improvement
With the code below, yes it achieves most things asked, but is jagged and not as smooth as possible. When the content changes it's sharp and can sometimes make the animation not look good.
Code
HTML:
<h1 id="about-header"><span id="comment-indicator-start">//</span> About Me <span id="comment-indicator-end"></span></h1>
CSS:
#about-header #comment-indicator-start, #comment-indicator-end {
display: none;
}
#about-header::before {
content: "//";
animation: comments-start 8s, fadeInOut 1.56s linear -1s 6;
}
#about-header::after {
content: " ";
animation: comments-end 8s, fadeInOut 1.56s linear -1s 6;
}
#keyframes fadeInOut {
0% {
opacity: 0;
} 50% {
opacity: 1;
} 100% {
opacity: 0;
}
}
#keyframes comments-start {
0% {
content: "//";
}
20% {
content: "#";
}
40% {
content: "<!--";
}
60% {
content: "/*";
}
80% {
content: "'"
}
100% {
content: "--";
}
}
#keyframes comments-end {
0% {
content: "";
}
20% {
content: "";
}
40% {
content: "-->";
}
60% {
content: "*/";
}
80% {
content: ""
}
100% {
content: "";
}
}

I have the below code to begin an animation for an acronym that makes the code transform to a vertical form. I'd like to have it where it will type the rest of the acronym out next to the letters on the button click. However doing so adds far to much space between all the type I want them to basically line up how they do before the button is pressed you can see what it currently does here:
var a = 0;
var b = 0;
var c = 0;
var d = 0;
var e = 0;
var f = 0;
var balance = 'alance';
var execution = 'xecution';

Any and all help will be extremely appreciated.
In your particular example, the spacing is coming from the lengths of the words. When I undo the rotation caused by the animation, we can see this:
So, if you force the length of the word to be one character (regardless of how many characters are actually there), then you no longer have the spacing problem caused by the words' length.
.move span {
display: inline-block;
width: 1.5ch;
}
Although forcing the span's width works, it can feel a little naughty. We're now relying on nice overflow behaviour, and hopefully we don't need the true width of the element for anything else.
I found that I didn't have to force width if we start at the end rather than the beginning. By default (no transform applied), it is already arranged as a column of words exactly like what you want at the end of the animation.
Then, you apply the 90 degree rotation to get the horizontal "BETTER" text. The animation undoes the rotation, meaning you always get what you expect at the end.
const betterAcronym = document.querySelector('#better-acronym')
const revealButton = document.querySelector('#reveal-button')

const word = element.dataset['word']
const start = element.textContent.length
for (let c = start; c < word.length; ++c) {
element.textContent += word[c]
await wait(100)
}
}
revealButton.addEventListener('click', async () => {
betterAcronym.classList.add('revealed')
await wait(2750) // length of the animation plus some

You just have to provide width: 73px to .move.active span. And after the animation ends adjust the parent height.
In the demo look for code comments. I've also fixed the typing effect code. View in full page mode.

Adjust the calculations as per your requirements.
I have a problem. I made a CSS animation on the body, going from one color to the other for like 10 seconds, only showing one image and one paragraph, and ignoring the rest of the paragraphs and other stuff written in my HTML code.
When the animation is finished, I would like that the body displays the actual HTML content (other paragraphs and DIV's, etc.). Now that is the problem, I tried with opacity and setting it to 0 during the animation and then resetting it to 1 after the animation ends but I could not do it? Could you help me? I created the animations in JS with event listeners and keyframes in CSS.
let backColor = document.querySelector('body');
let banner = document.querySelector('#banner p');

i've been trying to figure this out by myself the entire night and i just can't make my button clickable... i would keep trying but i'm tired and i need to go to sleep really bad.
the code is mostly pasted.
i'm really bad at this kind of stuff
don't judge the the bad code...
but i need this button really bad so i can redirect to my welcome page.
the button code itself works, the problems is its conficting with the other stuff and makes it non clickable.
so... here's the full index page of my site with the button that doesn't work:

If you are talking about the green button with the white heart then it's a small fix.
When you try to click the button you actually clicking the fixed div that contains all the floating text, because the element is in position: fixed; z-index: 1.
The element that holds the button <div class="a">, add to it the following css position: relative; z-index: 2; and your done!
Hope this is what you needed =]
Add pointer-events: none; to the .animation-container.
Final code:
.animation-container {
pointer-events: none;
}
Why it works? Because all the clicks happened on .animation-container that has position fixed and some other styling which make it be across the entire page.
I'm trying to get an action to occur when one clicks on an image, however only when the image is at full opacity
function func() {
if ($('.Absolute-Center').css('opacity') == 1) {
alert("it works");
}
}
.Absolute-Center {
margin: auto;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
right: 0;
}
img.Absolute-Center {
opacity: 0.05;
filter: alpha(opacity=5);
-webkit-transition: opacity 20s linear;
}
img.Absolute-Center:hover {
opacity: 1;
filter: alpha(opacity=100);
-webkit-transition: opacity 20s linear;
}
<img src="picture.png" class="Absolute-Center" onclick="func()" />
Try using transitionend event , .addClass() , .removeClass() ; removing :hover from css
function func(e) {
if ($(this).css("opacity") == 1) {
alert("it works");
$(this).removeClass("clicked")
}
};
$(".Absolute-Center").on({
"click": function() {
$(this).addClass("clicked")
},
"transitionend": func
})
.Absolute-Center {
margin: auto;
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
bottom: 0;
right: 0;
}
img.Absolute-Center {
opacity: 0.05;
filter: alpha(opacity=5);
transition: opacity 20s linear;
}
img.Absolute-Center.clicked {
opacity: 1;
filter: alpha(opacity=100);
transition: opacity 20s linear;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js">

This should help improve understanding and should be easily adaptable to do exactly what you want.

I'm creating a sort of notification system inside my webpage with vue.js
All works fine but i want to remove the element after the transition is completed.
I only get this to work with an setTimeout but that is not the ideal method
Working jsfiddle:
http://jsfiddle.net/yMv7y/1073/
This is my code:
Vue:
Vue.transition('notification', {
enter: function(el) {
app.notifications.pop();
},
leave: function(el) {
setTimeout(function(){
el.remove();
},5000);
},
});
Vue.component('notification', {
template: '<div class="notification" v-class="red: !success, green: success" v-transition="notification"><p>{{message}}</p></div>',
data: function() {
return {
success: true,
message: '',
};
},
});
var app = new Vue({
el: 'body',
data: {
notifications : [
]
},
ready: function() {
self = this;
var data = {
'message': 'Thank you',
'success': true
};
self.notifications.push(data);
},
});
Html:
<div id="notifications-wrapper">
<notification id="notification"
v-repeat="notifications"
>
</notification>
</div>
CSS
#notifications-wrapper
{
position: fixed;
z-index: 99;
top: 0;
left: 80%;
overflow: visible;
}
.notification
{
position: relative;
z-index: 100;
overflow: hidden;
width: 250px;
margin-top: 20px;
transform: translate(20px, 0);
animation-fill-mode: forwards;
transition: 1s;
-webkit-backdrop-filter: blur(2px);
backdrop-filter: blur(2px);
background-color: grey;
}
p
{
margin: 10px 20px;
color: $white;
}
.notification-transition
{
animation-delay: 0s, 4.5s;
animation-duration: 4.5s, 0.5s;
animation-name: slide-in-out, hide-notification;
}
#keyframes slide-in-out
{
0%
{
transform: translate(20px, 0);
}
10%
{
transform: translate(-270px, 0);
}
90%
{
transform: translate(-270px, 0);
opacity: 1;
}
100%
{
transform: translate(20px, 0);
opacity: .5;
}
}
#keyframes hide-notification {
1% {
height: auto;
margin-top: 20px;
}
100% {
height: 0;
margin: 0;
}
}
Problem: You tried to remove el during the transition(leave function) so you got error without setTimeout.
Solution: You have to use afterLeave function. Change leave function to afterLeave function.
afterLeave: function(el) {
el.remove();
}
