Sencha Ext JS close panel on mobile - javascript

I know nothing about Ext.js but I am being tasked with enhancing some of our front end JavaScript that uses it. I have the following code:
xtype: 'fieldset',
docked: 'bottom',
flex: 1,
defaults: {
xtype: 'button',
style: 'margin: .5em',
flex: 1,
},
layout: {
type: 'hbox',
},
items: [{
text: 'Submit',
ui: 'plain',
itemId: 'shareOutButton',
cls: 'btn btn-primary',
action: 'submitShareListing',
},
{
text: 'Done',
ui: 'plain',
itemId: 'doneButton',
cls: 'btn btn-primary',
handler: function () {
this.up('ShareOutWindow').close();
},
}],
When the user clicks on the doneButton - I simply want to close the current panel (it has the ID of ShareOutWindow') that is displayed. I have tried several things .close(), .hide() etc. I am able to get a reference to an object using the this..... but I cannot figure out how to close or hide the panel once I get a reference to it.
I have also tried this function -- but the panel does not go away and I don't get an error message.
handler: function () {
this.up('ShareOutWindow').close;
},
Any help would be greatly appreciated

w2ui grid hide and show not working properly

I am working on w2ui grid and I need to hide and show it based on certain condition. Grid is not showing back even though visibility:visible property is applied after it is hidden. It is just showing a line.
Please have a look at my code below:
HTML:
<div id="LastMileGrid" class="col-lg-6 col-sm-12 col-md-6" style="width: 100%; height: 150px"></div>
Javascript:
$('#LastMileGrid').w2grid({
name: 'LastMile',
show: {
toolbar: true,
footer: true,
toolbarReload: false,
toolbarColumns: false,
lineNumbers: true,
},
columns: [
{ field: 'recid', caption: 'ID', size: '10%', sortable: true },
//{ field: 'Header', caption: 'Header', size: '20%', editable: { type: 'text' }, sortable: true },
{ field: 'Description', caption: 'Description', size: '50%', editable: { type: 'text' }, sortable: true }
],
toolbar: {
items: [
{ id: 'add', type: 'button', caption: 'Add Record', icon: 'w2ui-icon-plus' },
{ id: 'remove', type: 'button', caption: 'Remove Record', icon: 'w2ui-icon-cross' }
],
onClick: function (event) {
if (event.target == 'add') {
var Index = w2ui['LastMile'].records.length;
w2ui['LastMile'].add({ recid: w2ui['LastMile'].records.length + 1 });
}
if (event.target == 'remove') {
var grid = w2ui["LastMile"];
grid.method = 'DELETE';
grid.delete();
}
}
},
//records: [{ recid: 'AAA' }, { recid: 'BBB' }, { recid: 'CCC' }]
});
And when opening the pop up I call the function,
$('#popup').w2popup('open', {
onOpen: function () {
if ($("#ddlMode").val() == "AIR" && ($("#drpServiceScope").val() == "D2D" || $("#drpServiceScope").val() == "A2D")) {
$('#LastMileGrid').attr("style", "visibility:visible;height:160px:")
}
else {
$('#LastMileGrid').attr("style", "visibility:collapse;")
}
},
modal: true,
});
You can try to call w2ui["LastMile"].refresh() after hiding or showing.
Answering to help others as I am late :D.
After spending a lot of time to resolve the issue,I have formulize below 2 solutions for w2ui grid show hide issue or column size issue :
1.Change the size of columns to px instead of %.
ie. use
{ field: 'lname', caption: 'Last Name', size: '30px' }
instead of
{ field: 'lname', caption: 'Last Name', size: '30%' },
2. If you wish to keep column size in % due to some requirement:
Depending on where you are rendering grid,you need to handle the resizing.
Calling refresh on grid will send data request again to server.
I don't wanted grid to make call to server each time I show/hide grid, hence written the resize of my own.
To help understand the function please note that in my application,
I have followed naming convention as follows:
If I create a grid then it will be id+"_grid",
If create a form that it will be id+"_form",
same for layout id+"_layout".
So I can get the associated component to a id and establish relation between them.
Call resize() function after you call show().
If below function doesn't help, try adding some milli seconds delay between show and my function resize().
function resize(id){
var grid=id+"_grid";
var layout=id+"_layout";
var form=id+"_form";
if(w2ui[layout]){
if($(w2ui[layout].el("main")).hasClass("w2ui-grid")){ /*means in w2ui layouts main has grid hence call resize. Calling refresh on layout "main" will make grid to reload data again ,hence grid resizing is handled in next case */
w2ui[layout].resize();
}else{
w2ui[layout].refresh();/*means main has element other than grid so refresh */
}
}
if(w2ui[form])
w2ui[form].resize();
if(w2ui[grid])
w2ui[grid].resize(); //if grid is directly rendered without a layout resize helps
}

How to make menu and toolbar in extjs?

I'm new in Extjs. I would like to know. Which components I can use, to make a menu and toolbar like in desktop app?
I mean something like this.
I wrote this code, but the result is not similar to desktop app menu.
Ext.define('untitled.view.main.Main', {
extend: 'Ext.panel.Panel',
xtype: 'app-main',
width: 200,
height: 150,
tbar: [{
xtype: 'button',
text: 'Select',
menu: Ext.create('Ext.menu.Menu', {
items: [{
text: 'JavaScript',
handler: function () {
alert('Selected JavaScript');
}
}, {
text: 'Java',
}, {
text: 'C/C++'
}]
})
}]
});
New -------
Thank you very much, and the last question. How can I remove this arrow?
Here is fiddle for you - desktop-like toolbar (use your iconCls for Icon buttons).
Ask if you need something updated.

Sencha Touch 2 Add and Remove textfield inside fieldset

i have strange issue with removing item from fieldset. my app success adding new textfield fieldset item, buth when i do remove() my app screen got stuck without any error on my google chrome.
here my source
view js
Ext.define('qms.view.QC23', {
extend: 'Ext.form.FormPanel',
alias: 'widget.QC23View',
id: 'QC23View',
requires: ['Ext.form.FieldSet', 'Ext.Label'],
config: {
items: [
{
xtype: 'fieldset',
//defaults: { labelAlign: 'top' },
Id:'defectAdd',
layout:{
},
items: [
{
xtype: 'button',
text: 'New Defect',
id: 'DefectQC23Button',
ui: 'action'
},
{
xtype: 'button',
text: 'Remove Defect',
id: 'RemoveQC23Button',
ui: 'action'
}
]
}
]
}
and my controler
Ext.define('qms.controller.QC23con', {
extend: 'Ext.app.Controller',
config: {
refs: {
addDefectButton:'#DefectQC23Button',
rmDefectButton:'#RemoveQC23Button'
},
control: {
addDefectButton:{
tap: 'addDefect'
},
rmDefectButton:{
tap: 'removeDefect'
},
}
},
addDefect: function(button){
button.up('fieldset').add({
xtype: 'textfield',
name: 'MyField-' + button.up('fieldset').length
});
//Ext.getCmp('defectAdd').doLayout();
},
removeDefect: function(button){
button.up('fieldset').remove(button.up('fieldset').items.items[0]);
}
the function for adding item work fine, but when i remove the item my screen stuck. i am using google chrome for testing.
please give me solution for this issue.
thanks.
I noticed you are not checking for the xtype before removing an item from the fieldset. The code might be removing the button itself in which case it might cause your screen to freeze. I created a simple sencha fiddle https://fiddle.sencha.com/#fiddle/4tf that does what you are trying to accomplish.
replace the removeDefect function with this:
var lastItem = button.up('fieldset').items.items.length-1;
if(button.up('fieldset').items.items[lastItem].xtype ==='textfield')
button.up('fieldset').remove(button.up('fieldset').items.items[lastItem]);

Sencha Touch 2 - Panel stops working after build

I have some trouble using an Ext.Panel in Sencha Touch 2.2. It works at first, but after building it can't be closed though hideOnMaskTap is true.
Here's my code:
MinPanel.js
Ext.define('MinimalPanelExample.view.MinPanel', {
extend: 'Ext.Panel',
requires: [
'Ext.dataview.List'
],
config: {
id: 'minPanel',
width: '320px',
height: '480px',
modal: true,
hideOnMaskTap: true,
html: 'minimal panel',
items: [
{
xtype: 'list',
width: '100%',
height: '100%'
}
]
}
});
Adding it in Main.js:
var minPanel = Ext.create('MinimalPanelExample.view.MinPanel');
[...]
items: {
docked: 'top',
xtype: 'titlebar',
title: 'Welcome to Sencha Touch 2',
items: [
{
xtype: 'button',
text: 'Button',
listeners: {
tap: function(button) {
minPanel.showBy(button);
}
}
}
],
},
What's curious is that the list inside the panel isn't even shown if I run the built package, it just shows the html: 'minimal panel'. There's no warnings in the Javascript console, though.
Any ideas about why that happens?
Also, feel free to tell me if my way of creating / accessing the panel in the first place is wrong.
Figured it out. You can't just Ext.create on top of the Main view file, it has to be somewhere in the Ext.define block. It works if I create the MinPanel in an initialize listener, and then get it via Ext.getCmp('minPanel') when the user presses the button.

Ext.form.Panel on top of a Toolbar has some white space around it

I have the following situation. I have an Ext.form.field.File (With the buttonOnly: true on top of a Ext.form.Panel which is on top of a Toolbar docked on an Ext.grid.Panel. The result of that is, the button has a completely different style then the toolbar, and the Panel seems to have some white space around button that you can see. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this, so that the style of the button and panel matches the toolbar (I use default styles, didn't modify anything).
EDIT: here is some code:
upload_button = Ext.create('Ext.form.field.File', {
buttonOnly: true,
buttonText: "Upload File",
hideLabel: true,
listeners: {..}
});
button_panel = Ext.create('Ext.form.Panel', {
region: 'south',
items: upload_button
});
upload_toolbar = Ext.create('Ext.toolbar.Toolbar',{
width: 400,
region: 'north',
dock: 'top',
items: [ button_panel]});
grid_file = Ext.create('Ext.grid.Panel', {
title: 'File List',
region: 'center',
height: 300,
store: store_file,
dockedItems: [upload_toolbar],
You are using regions, but I cannot see any border layout.
Your problem is that you are trying to put a panel within a toolbar - it won't work.
You better off just putting an hidden upload form somewhere in your page; putting a normal button in the toolbar, and have the toolbar button press triggering a press on the hidden form.
So this would be the hidden upload form definition:
Ext.define('App.view.Assignments' ,
{
extend: 'Ext.panel.Panel',
alias: 'widget.assignments-panel',
hidden: true,
items: [{
xtype: 'filefield',
id: 'uploadField',
emptyText: 'Select a file',
fieldLabel: 'Assignment',
name: 'assignment-path',
buttonText: '...',
buttonConfig: {
iconCls: 'upload-icon'
}
},{
xtype: 'hidden',
id: 'submissionIdField',
name: 'submissionId',
value: ''
}],
});
And then when the visible update button is pressed you can do:
var uploadField = Ext.getCmp( 'uploadField' );
uploadField.fileInputEl.dom.click();
