Google Custom Search Engine does not appear in React project - javascript

I followed both the documentation, and the solution found here, on SO. But the input field just wouldn't load on localhost. It does however if I just add it into an index.html file.
<script async src="https://cse.google.com/cse.js?cx=123456">
</script>
<div class="gcse-search"></div>
Does anybody know what might cause it?
Things I tried:
Added it to my page as displayed above.
Added the script tag separately into the head tag.
Added the script as a function into the ComponentDidMount

data-hype what is it? and how to get around it? | about Google Adsense

I'm trying to add my Adsense code to my website, however, an error is returning to me in DevTools, and I don't know if this is interfering with the Adsense configuration on the website
follow the error below:
(AdSense head tag doesn't support data-rehype attribute.)
Apparently after I put my Adsense code on the platform it adds "data-rehype" to the end of the code looking like this:
<script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-*MYADSNUMBER*" data-rehype></script></body></ html>
And it seems to be causing conflicts, remembering that I don't have access to the complete HTML of the site, the company that hosts it offers a feature to add code and they promise that this code will be added to the tag of the page, but apparently this does not happen.
Note: My code is added without the "data-rehype", but after I save the settings, it appears in the site's html with this attribute.
I haven't tried anything yet but apparently there is a function of the company itself that when identifying elements such as:
crossorigin, src, async, etc. and it is precisely elements that make up our personal Adsense code, the function modifies and adds "data-rehype" to the end of the code.

Amp Javascript adds ineligible tags to the page

I am using gatsby js to build my static amp page and you can see the final html output in the search console. You can see that the generated html passes amp validation. That test passes because I copy and pasted the generated html.
However the website fails because on page load the official amp script <script async src="https://cdn.ampproject.org/v0.js"></script> adds ineligible tags. If I remove the script, the html stays the same. There are other scripts but I am 99% sure it's ^ one because I tried removing them one by one.
The script adds things like amp-version i-amphtml-sizer in the css and changes other things on the page. I am not sure why it would add these tags because v0.js is recommended by amp.
You can see the failing page here.
https://search.google.com/test/amp?id=aClwacaTtbw5q7-Dm3glPg&skip_amp_follow=true
If someone can point me to the original amp v0.js I will be truly grateful. The CDN version is uglified+transpiled and it's really hard to debug my issue.
This was caused by amp cache. I had to follow this guide to invalidate the cache for all my amp pages.

How do I force jQuery to load first?

I am trying to add bootstrap-select to my Flask app and I keep running into the error "TypeError: $(...).selectpicker is not a function". Everything I've read says this only occurs if you load jQuery again after loading bootstrap-select.js, so I went through and cleaned up my scripts, ensuring that jQuery was being loaded before all my other JS scripts, like so:
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.12.4.min.js" integrity="sha256-ZosEbRLbNQzLpnKIkEdrPv7lOy9C27hHQ+Xp8a4MxAQ=" crossorigin="anonymous"> </script>
...
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrap-select/1.13.1/js/bootstrap-select.min.js"></script>
However, I was still getting the same problem. I decided to take a look at the order of loading in the chrome developer tools window, and now I think my problem is this: jQuery is being queued for loading before bootstrap-select, but it's not actually starting the download until after bootstrap-select has already finished. I suspect this is because of the difference in size between the two.
Is there any way I can force my other scripts to delay loading until after jQuery has already loaded? Or if I figure out how to cache a copy of jQuery in my static directory, will that help?
Edit: Wow, okay, I got a lot of comments on this! To try and clarify as much as possible, I'm just going to make some notes:
After thoroughly checking all my scripts, I can confirm that only one copy of jQuery is being loaded.
This is not an https page, I'm running it locally on a Flask development server.
I checked the bootstrap-select url I have in my code and it is the correct one. Sorry, I'm not sure why it left out the dash when I was copy-pasting. I have corrected the question accordingly.
I have been using the Network tab in chrome's dev tools to check loading successes/times.
I moved my jQuery to the very beginning of the file to ensure it would load first, and I can now confirm it is finished loading before bootstrap-select loads.
Despite all this, I'm continuing to get the same error, so if anyone has other suggestions I would appreciate them. I'm completely out of ideas at this point.
You should put defer at the end of both script tags, so they are loaded in order no matter what, like this:
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.12.4.min.js" integrity="sha256-ZosEbRLbNQzLpnKIkEdrPv7lOy9C27hHQ+Xp8a4MxAQ=" crossorigin="anonymous" defer></script>
...
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrapselect/1.13.1/js/bootstrap-select.min.js" defer></script>
Try changing the URL for your bootstrap select library to:
https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrap-select/1.13.1/js/bootstrap-select.min.js
I have the solution and it's dumb as heck.
I was adding my scripts to the same place the previous developer added theirs, in the base template that all my other templates extend. The thing is, they added theirs to the end of the page, after the body tag was closed (presumably to make page loading faster). The little bit of jQuery which was using selectpicker was in the body, and was thus trying to load the function prematurely.
Thanks for all your answers!

Adding a JavaScript embed to HTML

I am given this code which should display an embedded small coupon version of this page https://weedmaps.com/deals#/1118217:
<script type="text/javascript">var coupon_id = 17811;</script>
<script type="text/javascript">var coupon_type = "deliveries";</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="https://weedmaps.com/embed/coupon.js"></script>
I do not know how to add the JavaScript to the HTML correctly. I have placed the following scripts in the head section. But I don't understand how to have the coupon generate in the div I want it to. I have tried calling the JavaScript function, but I've never worked with JavaScript before. Could someone please help me embed this coupon.
I've taken a look at your script and first of all: it definitely should be placed inside the document and not into the <head> section because coupon.js is writing out html at the placement of the coupon.js script import.
In theory you just need to place the script and it should work but there are some problems:
You need to execute it on a web server - when running as a plain html file the script just tries to find the libraries in your file system which does not work.
It still would not work because it would still try to find some resources at your web-server. In mycase it the script tried to load http://localhost:63342/restpoints/deliveries/17811/deal which will not work
To prove 2. just try https://weedmaps.com/restpoints/deliveries/17811/deal with the correct domain. Then you are receiving correct JSON which is used to fill the coupon pane.
=> Consequently the script you were given has problems if it should be executable from domains different from "weedmaps.com"
Javascript can be between head tag but it advisable to put it below before the body closing tag, to allow your page contents loads first before loading javascript. Just import your javascript. and call out. Hope this was helpful.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
</head>
var coupon_id = 17811;
The JS indicates it is looking for an element with an id of #weedCouponPane. Do you have this in your html? i.e.
<div id="weedCouponPane"></div>

Maddening scope issue

Little things like this drive me crazy!
Working with a typical Joomla website and all it's complexity.
Start with a functioning website. Edit a particular javascript file of a template to add a simple function:
function socialShare(title, url) {
alert("goop!");
}
I reference it in a link:
<a class="icon-facebook"
onclick="socialShare('blog-entries', '11-blog-article/15-oppressive-tyranny&title=Triumph Over Tyranny')"> </a>
The function is included along with 37 other external scripts in a file at the end of the page, included within the body element like this:
<script src="/bts/templates/vg_progressive/js/articleRev.js"></script>
I inserted the sociaShare function definition as the first thing in the include articleRev.js file. The list of external scripts include core functionality like bootstrap, jquery etc etc.
I can see the function in the included script file with firebug's debugger & the include line in the page source near the bottom. BUT IT DOESN'T GET EXECUTED!! If I include the exact same function within a element anywhere on the page it works just fine. For some reason the instance in the external script file is not within the scope of that page / article, tho I can see it clearly in the page source.
I can also put the function within script tags as the last thing inside the body and it is within scope and works fine. I discovered I can define the function in a different included javascript file that is found in the very same folder and it also works fine.
Like I said, things like this make me pull my hair out! What can cause this behavior? How can I narrow it down?
As per Ed Cotrel, here are 2 files which [may] be helpful, tho I don't think so. Rename articleRev.txt to .js and pageSrc.txt to pageSrc.html. As for your comments Ed, I believe I've stated the issue as clearly as I can.
The desired behavior is to see an alert box when the anchor tag is clicked. Simple. The anchor tag displays a social media icon based on one of the class definitions. The onclick attribute should call the javascript function socialShare and display an alert box containing a text message with the 2 parameters. The alert never shows up. If the socialSharing function is moved to the main.js script file located in the same folder and included the same way in the same place in the page flow it works. Is that clearer?
