I apologize to those that have read this question so far (10 views). I'm still not sure of the syntax to pass in the quiz configuration but she apparently allows it.
I'm trying to make a small change so the slickQuiz plugin supports multiple quizes on the same page, which the author 3 years suggested it probably can do. However it's loading in the same quiz questions and it seems due to the defining of quizJSON in slickQuiz-config.js file:
// Setup your quiz text and questions here
var quizJSON = {
"info": {
"name": "Test Your Knowledge!!",
"main": "<p>Think you're smart enough to be on Jeopardy?
... continues on ...
}
};
and the following line in slickQuiz.js, apparently allowing no variability on the quizJSON configuration loaded in:
// Set via json option or quizJSON variable (see slickQuiz-config.js)
var quizValues = (plugin.config.json ? plugin.config.json : typeof quizJSON != 'undefined' ? quizJSON : null);
I'm quite new to Javascript and am not sure how I could pass something in to set which quiz configuration (questions/answers) file is used for quizValues . Note the plugin includes a tiny master.js file, where it appears I can set a different id for each quiz:
// master.js file -- originally just defined #slickQuiz
$(function () {
$('#slickQuiz').slickQuiz();
});
$(function () {
$('#slickQuiz2').slickQuiz();
});
But how do I pass a parameter into slickQuiz() that I can use inside slickQuiz.js? This is probably trivial, but the way the function is invoked and its options are confusing to me new to JS.
Note here is how the slickQuiz id gets used in the plugin's example html file:

I am facing problem with exporting csv.
Problems:
1) I have to export a html table to csv file . Can i change the delimiter of csv file to something else like semicolon. If I have values in the table under the same column separated by comma, in the csv sheet it is showing in a different column.
2) My code is not working for IE and it is only working for mozilla
3) Also I wanted the user to save the csv file. Now it is getting automatically saved.
Please find my code . Can any body help with any of the issue.
function exportTableToCSV(filename) {
var tab = $('#searchObjectTableTabs').tabs('getSelected');// selecting the table
var tabIndex = $('#searchObjectTableTabs').tabs('getTabIndex', tab);
var data;
var rows;
if (tabIndex == '0') // first index of the tab under which the table will be displayed
{
data = $('#dg');//Only one table
rows = $('#dg').datagrid('getRows');
} else if (tabIndex == '1') // second index
{
data = $('#doc').first(); //Only one table
rows = $('#doc').datagrid('getRows');
}
var csvData = [];
var tmpArr = [];
var tmpStr = '';
data.find("tr").each(function ()
{
if ($(this).find("th").length) {
$(this).find("th").each(function () {
tmpStr = $(this).text().replace(/"/g, '""');
tmpArr.push('"' + tmpStr + '"');
});
csvData.push(tmpArr);
}
tmpArr = [];
$.each(exportArray, function (index, value)
{
csvData.push(exportArray[index].type + "," + exportArray[index].status + "," + exportArray[index].ID + "," + exportArray[index].itemrev + "," + exportArray[index].desc + "," + exportArray[index].owner + "," + exportArray[index].ogrp);
});
csvData.push(tmpArr.join('\n'));
// printObject(tmpArr);
});
alert('before this');
var output = csvData.join('\n');
csvData = 'data:application/csv;charset=utf-8,' + encodeURIComponent(output);
$(this)
.attr({
'download': filename,
'href': csvData,
'target': '_blank'
'delimiter':';'
});
alert('done');
}
$(".export").on('click', function (event) {
// CSV
exportTableToCSV.apply(this,['export.csv']);
});
I want that user to see an alert whenever he doesn't enter proper Google address (or select from suggestion box) on dynamically added text areas. How can I perform that?
I have tried the following code.
I want that when I add new divs at runtime the auto-complete method should apply on that input field and when the user clicks submit button without selecting any suggested address it should display an alert.
Please help me where am I wrong in my code?
function updateNames() {
var rows = $(".clonedInput");
var index = 0;
rows.each(function () {
var inputFields = $(this).find("input");
inputFields.each(function () {
var currentName = $(this).attr("name");
$(this).removeClass("hasDatepicker");
$(this).removeClass("hasTimepicker");
$(this).attr("name", currentName.replace(/\[(.*?)\]/, '[' + index + ']'));
});
var textareaFields = $(this).find("textarea");
textareaFields.each(function () {
var currName = $(this).attr("name");
$(this).attr("name", currName.replace(/\[(.*?)\]/, '[' + index + ']'));
var places = new google.maps.places.Autocomplete(currName);
var a = places.getPlace();
if (a == null) {
alert('Please Select a valid location');
}
else { }
var currId = $(this).attr("id");
$(this).attr("id", currId.replace(/\[(.*?)\]/, '[' + index + ']'));
});
var numberSpan = $(this).find("span.taskNumber");
numberSpan.html(index + 1);
index++;
});
}
Here is a sample of my problem and below is the same code
HTML
<button id='preview_btn'>Add</button>
<table id="point_tbl">
</table>
JavaScript
var pointList = [];
function deletePoint(id) {
console.log(id); // should be string but turns out to be the tr element
for (var i = 0; i < pointList.length; i++) {
if (pointList[i].id == id) {
pointList.splice(i, 1);
document.getElementById(id).remove();
document.getElementById(id + "item").remove();
}
}
}
function getTemplate(obj) {
var id = obj.id + "item";
var aa = obj.id;
var row = "<tr id = '" + id + "'><td>" + obj.sn + "</td><td>" + obj.x + "</td><td>" + obj.y + "</td><td>" + obj.tx + "</td><td>" + obj.ty + "</td><td>" + obj.lbl + "</td><td><button class='del_point' onclick = 'deletePoint("+id+");'>Delete</button></td></tr>";
return row;
}
document.getElementById("preview_btn").onclick = function(event) {
var id = getUniqueId();
var obj = {sn: pointList.length, x: 10, y: 10, tx: "0.5", ty: "0.5", lbl: "", id: id};
$('#point_tbl').append(getTemplate(obj));
pointList.push(obj);
}
function getUniqueId() {
if (!getUniqueId.idList) {
getUniqueId.idList = [];
}
var id = "uniqueID" + Math.round(Math.random() * 1000 + 1);
if (getUniqueId.idList.indexOf(id) != -1) {
return getUniqueId();
} else {
getUniqueId.idList.push(id);
}
return id;
}
When the Add button is clicked a new row is added with a button.
On this newly added button the deletePoint function is bind using the getTemplate function. The deletePoint function accepts the id of the row (tr) created by getTemplate function.
I am logging the the passed parameter in the deletePoint function. I was expecting this to be the id(basically a string) of the row but it turns out to be the whole tr element.
Not able to rectify the problem, please help.
What happens is that the generated code in the event handler is
deletePoint(someId)
instead of being
deletePoint("someId")
As most browsers create a variable in global scope for all elements having an id (the name of the variable being the id), you pass the element, not the string (in some browsers you would pass undefined).
Immediate fix : Change
onclick = 'deletePoint("+id+");'
to
onclick = 'deletePoint(\""+id+"\");'
Better : don't inline JS code in HTML to avoid those problems. For example give an id and data-attribute to your cell and later bind as you do with other elements.
You can change your delete function to fix problem
function deletePoint(id) {
id.remove();
}
This is my all script, I know this is long, but just one line is important and I add all it for insurance:
//Add new Addable div
$('.AddNewE').click(function () {
var RemoveAddableButton = $('<input type="button" class="RemoveE button red" value="remove" />');
$(RemoveAddableButton).click(function () {
$(this).closest('.Addable').remove();
});
var TargetId = $(this).attr('id');
TargetId = TargetId.substring(3);
var Target = $('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':first');
var Count = $('.Addable#' + TargetId).size();
var CloneTarget = $(Target).clone();
CloneTarget.find('input').val('');
CloneTarget.insertAfter('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':last'); // ***importantOne
var TargetName = $(Target).find('input').attr('name');
if (Count == 1) {
var CloneName = TargetName + '[1]';
TargetName = TargetName + '[0]';
$(Target).find('input').attr('name', TargetName);
$(Target).find('span[class*="field-validation"]').attr('data-valmsg-for', TargetName);
$(CloneTarget).find('input').attr('name', CloneName);
$(CloneTarget).append($(RemoveAddableButton));
if ($(CloneTarget).find('span[class*="field-validation"]').size() > 0) {
$(CloneTarget).find('span[class*="field-validation"]').remove();
$(CloneTarget).append(
$('<span class="field-validation-valid invalid-side-note" data-valmsg-replace="true" data-valmsg-for="' + CloneName + '"></span>')
);
}
} else {
var indx = TargetName.length - 3;
var CloneTargetName = TargetName.substring(0, indx);
CloneTargetName = CloneTargetName + '[' + Count + ']';
$(CloneTarget).find('input').attr('name', CloneTargetName);
$(CloneTarget).append($(RemoveAddableButton));
if ($(CloneTarget).find('span[class*="field-validation"]').size() > 0) {
$(CloneTarget).find('span[class*="field-validation"]').remove();
$(CloneTarget).append(
$('<span class="field-validation-valid invalid-side-note" data-valmsg-replace="true" data-valmsg-for="' + CloneTargetName + '"></span>')
);
}
}
(function ($) {
$.fn.updateValidation = function () {
var form = this.closest("form").removeData("validator").removeData("unobtrusiveValidation");
$.validator.unobtrusive.parse(form);
return this;
};
})(jQuery);
$(Target).updateValidation();
$(CloneTarget).updateValidation();
});
If I click the .AddNewE button then a new div added, but as my script I want to add this new div to the end of the divs so I use
CloneTarget.insertAfter('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':last');
but always the new div added as a second div it means always the :first and :last div is same and is first one also I checked by:
$('.Addable#' + TargetId).css('border', '');
$('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':last').css('border', '3px dotted green');
$('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':first').css('border', '3px dotted red');
So where is the problem? why the jQuery can't recognize last div ?
The problem is in the jQuery selector: $('.Addable#' + TargetId + ':last')
It is not valid HTML when you have multiple elements with the same id (#TargetId). ID is unique and you're not supposed to have more than 1 element with the same ID.
The jQuery selector assumes you use valid correct HTML markups, so it doesn't bother to collect all your elements with that ID. As soon as jQuery found the first element in the DOM with that ID, it stops and appends your new element right after that.
Try updating your jQuery selectors to simply: $('.Addable:first') and $('.Addable:last') and see if it works.
