I was having some problems with an angular project so i reinstalled nodejs and angular cli however now when i try to run
ng serve
i get this error:
enter image description here
now ive done the typical google searching for this problem and it led me to stackoverflow with making sure the nodejs is in the enviroment variables path and it was already there:
enter image description here
also i checked the path to verify it and here is the folder:
enter image description here
i tried to be as thorough as possible before coming here to ask this question. i dont know how to fix this when the path is correct. please help!!
Try checking your node version to see if you have node properly
installed.
Maybe your CMD was opened before the path was set, try
opening a new CMD window and execute the same command again.

So i just installed VScode on my Windows 10. I keep getting the following error:
"Can't find Node.js binary "node": path does not exist. Make sure Node.js is installed and in your PATH, or set the "runtimeExecutable" in your launch.json"
I've tried reinstalling VS and rebooting, tried installing from different folders (both on C drive and the second time i added it to my programs folder)
I tried installing a node.js extension which fails every time and then prompts me to try it manually...which then leads to a file downloading automatically, but when i add it to my VS folder through my file explorer, nothing happens still.
I tried installed a different node.js debugger
I tried changing my debugger to chrome too but all it does is take me to localhost:8080 and an empty page of course.
When i go through file explorer and look through the path of my .vscode folder, the nightly extension (node.js) is there....
I'm new to VScode and have just been using Scrimba's terminal to do my code but decided to try something more professional
I think you're putting node.js in the same folder/path as .vscode, this isn't correct. What you need to do is set node.js in your PATH which is different. See this answer for more information on how to set PATH/environment variables. Also install it from the official website nodejs.org. After changing your PATH remember to reboot.
I wouldn't recommend downloading "node.js extensions" as those likely are not legitimate, and as you've said yourself they don't work. Only download from the official website.
You have to install nodes from this website https://nodejs.org/
I'm brand new to coding and this is stumping me for some reason. The error that comes up when I type node -v in my visual studio code terminal is 'node : The term 'node' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet... It works just fine when I run it in command prompt on my computer. I've read everywhere that you have to add it to your path which I'm not sure I did correctly now. I attached some pictures of what the path looks like for the user and system variable. I am hoping someone could give some feedback if this looks right or not. Thanks :)
user variable
system variable
I had this issue when I first got Node. The solution is to restart VSCode, opening new terminal sessions inside VSCode won't help for some reason. You will, of course, have had to add it to PATH which you said you have.
It wouldn't work in command prompt if you haven't added it to PATH so I think your configuration is correct. However, some of your variables are in Appdata/Roaming. I think it's supposed to be in ProgramFiles or ProgramFiles x86, but you can check this by going to the filepath you've put into your environment variables using file explorer, and checking if there's a node.exe or npm.exe file there.
I have a React.js app, I built this simple meme generator app trying to learn web development (pretty new to the stuff) and am trying to host it using Github pages. I followed all the steps like installing the gh-pages with node and adding the url to the packages.json and adding the extra 2 lines of code for predeploy and deploy. I have the source for the github pages set to gh-pages. i get no errors when I run the command "npm run deploy" in terminal. But when I click the link I get a white screen. The console gives the error "Loading failed for the with source “https://z0onic.github.io/static/js/2.0b197680.chunk.js”. which is the first js file in the build directory. I searched pretty heavily and found other people who had a similar white screen issue but none of the answers helped. I have triple checked against these answers. Based on the error I'm getting I think its a build error but I don't know how to fix it or figure out exactly what is going wrong.
The github repository is at https://github.com/z0onic/meme-page and the link to the blank page that should be the hosted app is https://z0onic.github.io/meme-page/
when hosting locally through vs code with "npm start" command everything works fine.
Any help is appreciated I hope I'm not overlooking something silly but like I said I'm new to coding and still learning.
set the homepage in package.json to "https://<username>.github.io/<reponame>/" of course substituting things in <>
I am trying to run JavaScript code in Atom with Script package. It can run Python successfully, but with JS files it gives the following error message:
The system cannot find the file specified.
I had the same problem while analyzing some JavaScript code of an extension for Chrome.
Using: Windows 7 64Bit Atom:1.24.0 x64
Since I my coding Folder is somewhere else I copied the files in that folder. Let’s say:
C:\Users\USER\CodingStuff\
then it started working. I have also tried adding the extension file the Sources via:
1 - CTRL+SHIFT+I
2- Right click -> add folder to workspace
But that did not work.
Side note: node.js has to be installed on the system.
Hope it helps.
I know I am late, but if any other faces the same issue, my answer will be helpful.
Assumed that you want to run your javascript outside browser and you installed node.js.
There is a bug in "script" package of Atom. Check ur path of the script if there are spaces then this leads to the aforementioned error. Work around is remove spaces.
for ex:
E:\Java script\trial.js
change to:
E:\Javascript\trial.js
I’ve just created my first Node.js application in Netbeans. I mean, this is a brand new project. I haven't done anything and I’m already getting an error. Maybe there is a step to configure this or a file to create or something to install but I've googled for information to no avail. I guess this is just too basic, because I couldn’t find anything out there to help.
What does this mean and how can I fix it?
Duh! I found it. For some reason the Node path and the npm path were defaulting to Program Files (x86) and nodejs was installed in Program Files. I feel dumb.
Plus, as soon as I fixed it, all other new projects were fixed.
