MongoDB struggling to update DB - javascript

I'm new to MongoDB. I have a DB where cards data will be stored and update counts if the user likes the cards. Giving me a total likes number.
I keep getting my res as a 400 and I can't work out why. I got the update method to work manually. but when I put it into a function it does not work.
I'm using NEXT JS API routes.
import dbConnect from "../../utils/dbConnect";
import FavSchema from "../../models/FavoriteModel";
dbConnect();
export default async (req, res) => {
const { method } = req;
switch (method) {
case "GET":
try {
} catch (error) {
res.status(400).json({ success: false });
}
break;
case "POST":
try {
const query = {
cardId: req.body.cardHandler,
};
await FavSchema.findOneAndUpdate(
query,
{ $inc: { favCount: 1 } },
{ upsert: true }
);
res.send("Succesfully saved.");
} catch (error) {
res.send(400, { error: "Error" });
}
}
};
function
const handleCardFavClick = (id) => {
const cardHandler = {
id,
};
fetch("/api/favcounter", {
method: "POST",
body: JSON.stringify(cardHandler),
headers: {
"Content-Type": "application/json",
},
})
.then((response) => response.json())
.then((data) => console.log(data));
dispatch(makeFav(cardHandler));
};
Thank you!

You are passing
{ id: "<id>" }
as body in your API and reading "cardHandler" from req.body, which is "undefined".
In your POST API, replace
const query = {
cardId: req.body.cardHandler,
}
with
const query = {
cardId: req.body.id
}

sending push notification firebase react-js

I was working on a project using Firebase cloud messaging react. I was sending this to my server, but it doesn't work. Surely I have tried, but I don't know what's wrong again.
Below is the code.
Here it sends a POST request to Firebase, and it should send a notification to the user.
async function sendNotification(id, userMessage) {
const headers = {
'Authorization': `key=${code}`,
'Content-Type': 'application/json'
}
const message = {
'to': `${id}`,
'content_available': true,
'apns_priority': 5,
'notification': {
body: `${userMessage}`
},
const url = 'https://fcm.googleapis.com/fcm/send'
//console.log(code)
await axios.post(url, message, {
headers: headers
})
}
const sendMessageToServer = async (e) => {
//e.preventDefault();
toggle()
const docRe = doc(database, "help", mailer);
const data = {
email: user.email,
user: newMessage,
}
//console.log(data, 'not clear')
setNewMessage('')
//console.log(data, newMessage, 'cleared')
setShow(false)
if(newMessage === '') {
}
else {
const docRef = doc(database, "users", mailer);
await updateDoc(docRe, {
msg: arrayUnion(data)
})
.then(() => {
async function p() {
const id = await getDoc(docRef)
//console.log(id.data())
sendNotification(id.data().notice, `Admin : ${data.user}`)
}
p()
})
}
Sometimes it sends to my localhost because I tested there, but it doesn't work on my Netlify app. Secondly, I noticed that it keeps generating the same token for each user, but that's not the issue, but if you can help in both I would be grateful.
export default function Dashboard() {
async function callToken() {
await getToken(messaging, {vapidKey: process.env.NOTIFICATION})
.then((code) => {
//console.log(code)
async function docRef() {
const dc = doc(database, "users", auth.currentUser.email);
await updateDoc(dc, {
notice: code
});
}
docRef()
})
}
async function requestPermission() {
await Notification.requestPermission()
.then((permission) => {
if (permission === 'granted') {
console.log('Notification permission granted.')
callToken()
}
})
}
const goTo = useNavigate();
useEffect(() => {
onAuthStateChanged(auth, (data) => {
if(!data) {
goTo('/login')
}
else {
currentBalance();
requestPermission()
}
})
})
}
Please know I imported all required modules.

"Error: Error serializing .customerId returned from getServerSideProps in "/pricing"

I keep trying to call an api from my getServerSideProps function in my Next.js application, but everytime I try to do so I get this error
"Error: Error serializing .customerId returned from getServerSideProps in "/pricing".
Reason: undefined cannot be serialized as JSON. Please use null or omit this value."
This is the code for the Pricing page
const Pricing = ({customerId}) => {
console.log(customerId, 'Customerid Pricing')
return(
<div>
<ProductDisplay customerId={customerId}/>
</div>
)
}
export const getServerSideProps = async (ctx) => {
//create customer variable
let customerId
// Create authenticated Supabase Client
const supabase = createServerSupabaseClient(ctx)
// get the user session from supabase
const { data: { session }, } = await supabase.auth.getSession()
//get the user email from the session
const email = session.user.email
//create stripe customer
const createCustomer = async () => {
let createdCustomer;
let customerAvailable;
try {
const checkCustomer = await stripe.customers.search({
query: `email: '${email}'`
})
createdCustomer = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(checkCustomer))
customerAvailable = createdCustomer.data
} catch (error) {
console.log(error)
}
if (customerAvailable.length) {
customerId = createdCustomer.data[0].id
} else {
try {
const res = await fetch('/api/create-customer', {
method: 'POST',
headers: {
'Content-Type': 'application/json',
},
body: JSON.stringify({
email
})
})
const newCustomer = await res.json();
customerId = newCustomer.customer.id
} catch (error) {
console.log(error)
}
}
}
if (session) {
createCustomer()
} else {
return{
redirect: {
destination: '/signin',
permanent: false,
}
}
}
return {
props: {
customerId
},
}
}
export default Pricing;
This is the /api/create-customer the fetch function is trying to call
import Stripe from 'stripe';
const stripe = new Stripe(process.env.STRIPE_SECRET_KEY)
const handler = async (req, res) => {
const {email} = req.body
try {
const customer = await stripe.customers.create({
email: email
});
res.status(200).json({
code: 'customer_created',
customer,
})
} catch (error) {
console.log(error);
res.status(400).json({
code: 'customer_creation_failed',
error: error
})
}
};
export default handler;
please help me, thank you very much.

Getting following error while fetching data in react Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Failed to fetch

I have create backend using express and mongodb database. I am trying to fetch data in react but getting an error while fetching the data as show. Please can anyone tell what the solution of above error is and how can i fetch data from the backend
const Register = () => {
const [values, setValues] = useState({
name: "",
age: "",
country: "",
email: "",
});
const setData = (e) => {
console.log(e.target.value);
const { name, value } = e.target;
setValues((val) => {
return {
...val,
[name]: value,
};
});
};
const addData = async (e) => {
e.preventDefault();
const { name, age, country, email } = values;
const res = await fetch("/register", {
method: "POST",
headers: {
"Content-Type": "application/json",
},
body: JSON.stringify({
name,
age,
country,
email,
}),
});
const data = await res.json();
console.log(data);
if (res.status === 404 || !data) {
console.log("Error");
} else {
console.log("Data added successfully");
}
};
Here below is the backend code where the post function is performed.
router.post("/register", async (req, res) => {
const { name, age, country, email } = req.body;
if (!name || !age || !country || !email) {
res.status(404).send("Some data is missing");
}
try {
const preuser = await Crud.findOne({ email: email });
console.log(preuser);
if (preuser) {
res.status(404).send("The user already exists");
} else {
let addUser = new Crud({
name,
age,
country,
email,
});
addUser = await addUser.save();
res.status(201).json(addUser);
console.log(addUser);
}
} catch (error) {
res.status(404).send(error);
}
});
await fetch leads to an exception when the HTTP status is ≥ 400. You must add a try-catch block to handle such exceptions:
try {
const res = await fetch("/register", {...});
} catch(exception) {
// Handle the exception
}
Also, HTTP status 404 should be used when a resource is not found. You use it when a user already exists (where status 400 would be more appropriate) or in case of a database error (when 500 would be more appropriate).

My first api request always fails after page load

I'm having a problem with my API request that always fails after page load. Don't really know where Im wrong.
Here's my request and I call it when I interact with handleOpen function.
const stock = {
method: 'GET',
url: 'https://morningstar1.p.rapidapi.com/live-stocks/GetRawRealtimeFigures',
params: {Mic: props.mic, Ticker: clickedElement.ticker},
headers: {
'x-rapidapi-key': 'XXX',
'x-rapidapi-host': 'morningstar1.p.rapidapi.com'
}
}
const getStock = async () => {
try {
const res = await axios.request(stock);
return res.data;
}
catch (error) {
setOpen(false);
console.error("catch api error: ", error);
}
}
const handleOpen = name => {
let findClickedStock = props.stocksArray.find(item => item.ticker === name)
setClickedElement(findClickedStock)
getStock().then((dataFromStockApi) => {
let combined1 = { ...dataFromStockApi, ...findClickedStock }
setStockObject(combined1);
});
setOpen(true);
};
ERROR:
It's because your Ticker parameter is empty.
When you create "stock", clickedElement.ticker is undefined.
Do this:
// pass name in as a parameter
getStock(name).then(...)
Make getStock like like this:
const getStock = async (ticker) => {
try {
const res = await axios.request({
method: 'GET',
url: 'https://morningstar1.p.rapidapi.com/live-stocks/GetRawRealtimeFigures',
params: {Mic: props.mic, Ticker: ticker},
headers: {
'x-rapidapi-key': 'XXX',
'x-rapidapi-host': 'morningstar1.p.rapidapi.com'
}
});
return res.data;
}
catch (error) {
setOpen(false);
console.error("catch api error: ", error);
}
}

How to create complex nested documents using mongoose?

I want to create a complex nested document which can store values like this
category: {
"fish": ["Sardines", "Goldfish"],
"dogs": ["German Shepherd", "Dobberman"]
}
Here's what I tried
export const CategorySchema = new mongoose.Schema(
{
category: {
type: Map,
of: [String],
},
},
{ timestamps: true }
);
I passed data like this (from console)
this is how the passed data looks like
Nothing is being created in the database. Also no error.
export default async (req, res) => {
const { method } = req;
switch (method) {
case "GET":
try {
const categories = await Category.find({});
res.json({ success: true, data: categories });
} catch (error) {
res.json({ success: false });
}
break;
case "POST":
try {
let data = req.body;
data = JSON.parse(data);
const category = new Category(data);
const doc = await category.save();
console.log("Doc from Categories API", doc);
res.json({ success: true, data: doc });
} catch (error) {
res.json({ success: false });
}
break;
default:
res.status(400).json({ success: false });
break;
}
};
Can anyone advise me, please?
