Make javascript open on page load instead of on link click - javascript

I have a script that opens a popunder when any link is clicked. How can I change this to open the popunder when the page loads. Below is the script.
window.onload = function() {
var puURL = 'http://www.example.com';
var puTS = Math.round(+new Date()/1000);
console.log('T.'+localStorage.puTS+'/'+puTS);
if (typeof localStorage.puTS == 'undefined' || parseInt(localStorage.puTS) <= (puTS - 180)) {
var links = document.getElementsByTagName('a');
for(var i = 0, len = links.length; i < len; i++) {
links[i].onclick = function (e) {
var puHref = this.getAttribute("href");
var puTarget = this.getAttribute("target");
if (puHref !== '#' && puHref !== 'javascript:void(0)') {
e.preventDefault();
if (puTarget == '_blank') {
window.open(window.location.href);
}
window.open(puHref);
window.location.href = puURL;
localStorage.puTS = puTS;
}
}
}
}
};

Well, currently you're adding click handlers for all the target elements:
for(var i = 0, len = links.length; i < len; i++) {
links[i].onclick = function (e) { // <--- here
var puHref = this.getAttribute("href");
var puTarget = this.getAttribute("target");
if (puHref !== '#' && puHref !== 'javascript:void(0)') {
e.preventDefault();
if (puTarget == '_blank') {
window.open(window.location.href);
}
window.open(puHref);
window.location.href = puURL;
localStorage.puTS = puTS;
}
}
}
If you don't want to add click handlers but just want to invoke the logic within them right away, just put that logic in the loop without the click handler:
for(var i = 0, len = links.length; i < len; i++) {
var puHref = this.getAttribute("href");
var puTarget = this.getAttribute("target");
if (puHref !== '#' && puHref !== 'javascript:void(0)') {
if (puTarget == '_blank') {
window.open(window.location.href);
}
window.open(puHref);
window.location.href = puURL;
localStorage.puTS = puTS;
}
}
Of course, if this logic includes opening a new page or redirecting the user then that's going to happen immediately upon page load...

How do I change the two "click" EventListeners to do the opposite function in JavaScript?

I just started learning JavaScript, and I am trying to get two different EventListeners to do the opposite function. Right now, I have it so that you can click on a mark and then a word, letter, or space and the mark appears/disappears there. I want to be able to click a word, letter, or space then click on a mark to add/remove it. Sentence Punctuation Marks I've tried switching the .querySelector and .querySelectorAll, but that doesn't work. Any help would be much appreciated.
var classlist = el.querySelectorAll(".letter, .space");
for (var i = 0; i < classlist.length; i++) {
classlist[i].addEventListener("click", function(event) {
var element = this.parentNode;
console.log(this);
if (
tooltype === "longVowel" ||
tooltype === "shortVowel" ||
this.classList.contains("space") === true
) {
element = this;
console.log(element);
}
var add = true;
var checklist = element.querySelectorAll("." + tooltype);
if (checklist.length > 0) {
add = false;
}
socket0s6.emit("action", {
slide: demo6,
action: "markingWords",
element: element.id,
class: tooltype,
add: add,
});
});
}
var classlist = el.querySelector(".toolbar").querySelectorAll("li");
for (var i = 0; i < classlist.length; i++) {
classlist[i].addEventListener("click", function(event) {
tooltype = this.className;
});
}
document.getElementById("slideContainer").appendChild(el);
/*}
//var oReq = new XMLHttpRequest();
//oReq.addEventListener("load", reqListener);
//oReq.open("GET", "slides/lesson0/slide6.html");
//oReq.send();*/
/*************** Server action ******************/
//socket0s6.on('action', function(details) {
var socket0s6 = {
emit: function(a, details) {
// //console.log(details[1]);
if (details.slide === demo6 && details.action === "markingWords") {
//document.getElementById(details.element).classList.toggle("active");
if (details.add) {
var el = document.createElement("span");
el.className = details.class;
document.getElementById(details.element).appendChild(el);
} else {
//where we will put code to find and remove existing marks
var markList = document
.getElementById(details.element)
.querySelectorAll("." + details.class);
console.log(markList);
for (var i = 0; i < markList.length; i++) {
markList[i].parentNode.removeChild(markList[i]);
}
}
}
},
};

Binding photoswipe

I am trying to bind photoswipe so that it continues to work even if a div is loaded, has anyone done this before or can tell how to do this?
I tried changing the
galleryElements[i].onclick = onThumbnailsClick;
line to a binding on click statement to #container. This worked until i clicked off the slideshow which then killed all other click events on the page and left a thumbnail stuck in the middle of the screen. any ideas?
Here is the photoswipe JS:
var initPhotoSwipeFromDOM = function(gallerySelector) {
// parse slide data (url, title, size ...) from DOM elements
// (children of gallerySelector)
var parseThumbnailElements = function(el) {
var thumbElements = el.childNodes,
numNodes = thumbElements.length,
items = [],
figureEl,
linkEl,
size,
item;
for(var i = 0; i < numNodes; i++) {
figureEl = thumbElements[i]; // <figure> element
// include only element nodes
if(figureEl.nodeType !== 1) {
continue;
}
linkEl = figureEl.children[0]; // <a> element
size = linkEl.getAttribute('data-size').split('x');
// create slide object
item = {
src: linkEl.getAttribute('href'),
w: parseInt(size[0], 10),
h: parseInt(size[1], 10)
};
if(figureEl.children.length > 1) {
// <figcaption> content
item.title = figureEl.children[1].innerHTML;
}
if(linkEl.children.length > 0) {
// <img> thumbnail element, retrieving thumbnail url
item.msrc = linkEl.children[0].getAttribute('src');

}
};
// execute above function

I've written a small wrapper for PhotoSwipe in jQuery that lets you use dom elements to convert to gallery. It also does not require you to define image dimensions, just autodetects by itself. Check it out.

Google Script: How to highlight a group of words?

I'd like to write a script for google docs to automatically highlight a set of words.
For one word I could use a script like this:
function myFunction() {
var doc = DocumentApp.openById('ID');
var textToHighlight = "TEST"
var highlightStyle = {};
highlightStyle[DocumentApp.Attribute.FOREGROUND_COLOR] = '#FF0000';
var paras = doc.getParagraphs();
var textLocation = {};
var i;
for (i=0; i<paras.length; ++i) {
textLocation = paras[i].findText(textToHighlight);
if (textLocation != null && textLocation.getStartOffset() != -1) {
textLocation.getElement().setAttributes(textLocation.getStartOffset(),textLocation.getEndOffsetInclusive(), highlightStyle);
}
}
}
But I need to search the text for a set of many more words and highlight them. (this is the list: https://conterest.de/fuellwoerter-liste-worte/)
How do I write a script for more words?
This seems to be a little bit too complicated:
function myFunction() {
var doc = DocumentApp.openById('ID');
var textToHighlight = "TEST"
var textToHighlight1 = "TEST1"
var highlightStyle = {};
highlightStyle[DocumentApp.Attribute.FOREGROUND_COLOR] = '#FF0000';
var paras = doc.getParagraphs();
var textLocation = {};
var i;
for (i=0; i<paras.length; ++i) {
textLocation = paras[i].findText(textToHighlight);
if (textLocation != null && textLocation.getStartOffset() != -1) {
textLocation.getElement().setAttributes(textLocation.getStartOffset(),textLocation.getEndOffsetInclusive(), highlightStyle);
}
}
for (i=0; i<paras.length; ++i) {
textLocation = paras[i].findText(textToHighlight1);
if (textLocation != null && textLocation.getStartOffset() != -1) {
textLocation.getElement().setAttributes(textLocation.getStartOffset(),textLocation.getEndOffsetInclusive(), highlightStyle);
}
}
}
Thanks for your help!
You could use a nested for loop:
var words = ['TEST', 'TEST1'];
// For every word in words:
for (w = 0; w < words.length; ++w) {
// Get the current word:
var textToHighlight = words[w];
// Here is your code again:
for (i = 0; i < paras.length; ++i) {
textLocation = paras[i].findText(textToHighlight);
if (textLocation != null && textLocation.getStartOffset() != -1) {
textLocation.getElement().setAttributes(textLocation.getStartOffset(), textLocation.getEndOffsetInclusive(), highlightStyle);
}
}
}
This way you can easily extend the array words with more words.

What is the Easiest way to fix the Ajax conflict error?

In my website (http://urlsaf.com/m8) I already added one Ajax based rating system but this system is not working properly. When ever I rate it, It's reloaded the page. In my past this Ajax based rating system was rated successfully without reload the page using XMLHttpRequest. Below I will give my rating.js and behavior.js for your reference. The script doesn't support chrome. Read through it in most of the functions like checkForUrlChange() it looks at the name of the browser to decide what to do.
Because chrome and safari are both based on webkit, you can try to change the line useragent.indexOf("safari") != -1 to useragent.indexOf("safari") != -1 || useragent.indexOf("chrome") != -1 to see if that works.
If not, try using unfocus history keeper. It supports Chrome.
