How to show value after submit button in angular? - javascript

I made a form in Angular where, when user submit a form - new value show be shown under the form, I tried everything as per my knowledge but nothing works, currently labels of below form is showing without click, I need to show everything once where clicked submit button!
My interface:
HTML FILE
<div class="form-field col-lg-12">
<input class="submit-btn" type="submit" value="click" (click)="update">
</div>
<div class="form-field col-lg-12">
<input class="submit-btn" type="submit" value="click" (click)="update">
</div>
<div *ngIf="display">
<section class="admin-form">
<form class="contact-form row">
<div class="form-field col-lg-6" >
<label class="label" for="name">Article ID</label>
<label class="label infolabel" for="name">Fc409702-683e-11eb-Bc5e-54ee750463ec</label>
</div>
<div class="form-field col-lg-6 ">
<label class="label" for="company">Title</label>
<label class="label infolabel" for="company">SKF India Logs Nearly 2-Fold Rise In Q3 Net Profit</label>
</div>
<div class="form-field col-lg-6">
<label class="label" for="message">Publication, Edition</label>
<label class="label infolabel" for="message">Times Of India, Mumbai</label>
</div>
<input class="submit-btn" type="button" value="Delete" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#popup1">
</div>
</form>
</section>
</div>
TS FIle
export class MainComponent implements OnInit {
constructor() { }
display = true;
ngOnInit(): void {
$("#menu-toggle").click(function(e) {
e.preventDefault();
$("#wrapper").toggleClass("toggled");
});
}
update(){
this.display = !this.display;
}
}

On (click) you call update which I'm guessing is a function in your .ts.
If so, your .ts file can have something like this:
display: boolean = false;
/*...*/
update() {
...
this.display = true;
...
}
Then you *ngIf=display will trigger and show whatever is contained within

In the click handler, update should have (), like so:
<div class="form-field col-lg-12">
<input class="submit-btn" type="submit" value="click" (click)="update()">
</div>
<div class="form-field col-lg-12">
<input class="submit-btn" type="submit" value="click" (click)="update()">
</div>

display one of two forms if button is clicked

I am in need of some help. I want to create a web page that has two buttons depending on which button is selected I want to display either form 1 or form 2. The next thing is if the user selects the button for form 1 I want to do form validation only for the selected form.
// Example starter JavaScript for disabling form submissions if there are invalid fields
(function() {
'use strict';
window.addEventListener('load', function() {
// Fetch all the forms we want to apply custom Bootstrap validation styles to
var forms = document.getElementsByClassName('needs-validation');
// Loop over them and prevent submission
var validation = Array.prototype.filter.call(forms, function(form) {
form.addEventListener('submit', function(event) {
if (form.checkValidity() === false) {
event.preventDefault();
event.stopPropagation();
}
form.classList.add('was-validated');
}, false);
});
}, false);
})();
<button type="button" class="btn btn-outline-primary">show form 1</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-outline-primary">show form 2</button>
<br>
<form id="form1" class="needs-validation" novalidate>
<hr>
<p>THIS IS FORM 1</p>
<hr>
<div class="form-row">
<div class="col-md-4 mb-3">
<label for="validationCustom01">form1 box 1</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationCustom01" placeholder="form1 box 1" required>
<div class="valid-feedback">
Looks good!
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-4 mb-3">
<label for="validationCustom02">form1 box 2</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationCustom02" placeholder="form1 box 2" required>
<div class="valid-feedback">
Looks good!
</div>
</div>
</div>
<button class="btn btn-primary" type="submit">Submit form1</button>
</form>
<br>
<form id="form2" class="needs-validation" novalidate>
<hr>
<p>THIS IS FORM 2</p>
<hr>
<div class="form-row">
<div class="col-md-4 mb-3">
<label for="validationCustom01">form2 box 1</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationCustom01" placeholder="form1 box 1" required>
<div class="valid-feedback">
Looks good!
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-4 mb-3">
<label for="validationCustom02">form2 box 2</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" id="validationCustom02" placeholder="form1 box 2" required>
<div class="valid-feedback">

</div>
</div>
</div>
<button class="btn btn-primary" type="submit">Submit form2</button>
</form>
See if it fits your requirements.
I just added an event to the buttons that just flips the display property of the two forms.
For the validation, only the displayed form is validated, but once you validate a form it remains validated.
// Example starter JavaScript for disabling form submissions if there are invalid fields
(function() {
'use strict';
window.addEventListener('load', function() {
// Fetch all the forms we want to apply custom Bootstrap validation styles to
var forms = document.getElementsByClassName('needs-validation');
// Loop over them and prevent submission
var validation = Array.prototype.filter.call(forms, function(form) {
form.addEventListener('submit', function(event) {
if (form.checkValidity() === false) {
event.preventDefault();
event.stopPropagation();
}
form.classList.add('was-validated');
}, false);
});
}, false);
})();
function toggle(i) {
let form1 = document.getElementById('form1');
let form2 = document.getElementById('form2');
if (i == 1) {
form1.style.display = 'none';
form2.style.display = 'block';
} else {
form1.style.display = 'block';
form2.style.display = 'none';
}
}
.row {
background: #f8f9fa;
margin-top: 20px;
}
.col {
border: solid 1px #6c757d;
padding: 10px;
}
<button type="button" id="btn1" class="btn btn-outline-primary" onclick="toggle(2)">show form 1</button>

For this kind of things i recommend you to use some framework by the way, something like vuejs, or also jquery for simple things.

Change submit onclick based on a checkbox

I have a form that is being used as a basic contact form. I have added a checkbox that adds some fields if selected. How can I change the onclick action of the submit button based on if this box is checked or not. Here is what I have currently.
<form class="homeContact">
<label for="chkJob">
Interested in a career? Check to apply
<input type="checkbox" id="chkJob" />
</label>
<div id="dvApply" style="display: none">
Download Application
Download the application. Fill it out and upload below:
<input type="file" name="fileToUpload" id="fileToUpload">
</div>
<div id="popErr"></div>
<input type="hidden" name="nospam">
<div class="field">
<div class="label-form">
<input type="text" placeholder="Name *" value="" name="name" id="popName">
<span class="form-icon fa fa-user"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="field">
<div class="label-form">
<input type="text" placeholder="Email *" value="" name="email" id="popEmail">
<span class="form-icon fa fa-envelope"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div class="field">
<div class="label-form">
<input type="text" placeholder="Phone *" value="" name="phone" id="popTel">
<span class="form-icon fa fa-phone"></span>
</div>
</div>
<div id="submit_button">
<input type="button" class="button submit" id="contact-submit" onclick="submitForm()" value="Request Information">
</div>
</form>
<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$("#chkJob").click(function () {
if ($(this).is(":checked")) {
$("#dvApply").show();
} else {
$("#dvApply").hide();
}
});
});
</script>
You can implement this login into your submitForm function:
function submitForm()
{
if ($('#chkJob').is(":checked")) {
$("#dvApply").show();
} else {
$("#dvApply").hide();
}
}
But if you want dvApply to be toggled every time checkbox button is clicked without waiting for submit button to be clicked you can do something like:
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
$('#chkJob').change(function() {
$('#dvApply').toggle();
});
});

Saving dynamically added li and ul element to database using an array

I'm trying to build a User interface of an application where user could add ul and li element when clicking on add question, I successfully managed to develop the front end part here's a preview:
but the problem is when saving this to the database which is so overwhelming I'm stuck at this, is there any way to save the data to an array so I can display them with php, any idea is welcomed.
here's the jquery code:
wrapper.on("click", "button", function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var parent = $(this).parent().parent().parent().parent().parent().parent();
var parentID = $(this).attr('element-id');
var elementID = 1000000000000000000*Math.random();
parentIDs.push(elementID);
if($(this).attr('class') == "add_field_button btn btn-success"){
if(parent.find('ul').length){
parent.find('ul').first().append(`
<li>
<div class="panelcb white-box">
<div class="form-horizontal form-material">

<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-md-12">Response</label>

}else{
$(this).closest('li').append(`

<div class="col-sm-4">
<button class="delete_field_button btn btn-error" >Delete</button>

</div>
</li></ul>`);
}
}else if($(this).attr('class') == "delete_field_button btn btn-error"){
parent.remove();
}
Thanks is advance.
Well...
If the whole user-interative-area, I'd call a playground, can be put inside a container:
<div id='playground'>
.. all the ul's and li's..
</div>
And if you've got a form or something else:
<form action='/' id='form-playground' method='post'>
<textarea id='playground-container' name='playground' class='hidden'>
</textarea>
<input type='submit' value='Save My Playground'>
</form>
Then on submit you can copy the contents of the the playground to a hidden textarea:
$(document).ready(function () {
$('#form-playground').on('submit', function () {
$('#playground-container').html($('#playground').html());
return true;
});
});
Or perhaps an AJAX post:
$.post( PostUrl, { playground: $('#playground').html() } );

angular 4 submit form by pressing enter with login button

Is it possible to submit a form that have a submit button (by pressing enter)
I have two text fields by clicking the login button I am able to process the outcome but I am unable to do it by hitting enter.
Here is the HTML code(updated with full code)
this is signin.component.html
<div class="modal-content" style="padding: 10px;" id="login" *ngIf="show">
<div class="modal-body text-left">

Use (keyup.enter)="focusableSubmit.click()" to input Password and call #focusableSubmit to Button login, this would perform the task and same for button as shown in code below.
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-12 col-md-12">
<form class="loginForm" #loginForm="ngForm" action="" autocomplete="off" method="POST">
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label" for="signupName">Email</label>
<input type="email" class="form-control" name="username" placeholder="Email" [(ngModel)]="username" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label" for="signinPassword">Password</label>
<input type="password" class="form-control" name="password" placeholder="Password" [(ngModel)]="password" required (keyup.enter)="focusableSubmit.click()">
</div>
</form>
<div class = "error"> {{ errMsg }} </div>
<button #focusableSubmit class="btn btn-lg btn-info btn-block btnlog" type="button" [disabled]="loginForm.invalid" (click)="login()">Login</button>
<hr>
</div>
</div>
Your button should be inside the form but you have closed it inside the two input fields.
Update your code like this
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-12 col-sm-12 col-md-12">
<form class="loginForm" #loginForm="ngForm" action="" (submit)="login()" autocomplete="off" method="POST">
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label" for="signupName">Email</label>
<input type="email" class="form-control" name="username" placeholder="Email" [(ngModel)]="username" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label" for="signinPassword">Password</label>
<input type="password" class="form-control" name="password" placeholder="Password" [(ngModel)]="password" required>
</div>
<div class = "error"> {{ errMsg }} </div>
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-lg btn-info btn-block btnlog" [disabled]="loginForm.invalid" (click)="login()">Login</button>
</form>
<hr>
</div>
</div>
Yes you can.
Usually, you need to put your code in action="". But this isn't old HTML, this is Angular, and it works with Javascript.
So, in order to do that, you need to add the novalidate tag, and tell the form what to do when you validate it.
You also need to declare a submit input instead of your button.
This would look like
<form class="loginForm" novalidate (ngSubmit)="login()" autocomplete="off">
<input type="submit" value="Login" class="btn btn-lg btn-info btn-block btnlog" [disabled]="loginForm.invalid" (click)="login()"/>
Yes it is possible and quite easy!
First you have to replace
(button)="button()"
with
(ngSubmit)="login()"
and remove the click handler from the button and change the type to submit.
Both lines changed look like this:
<form class="loginForm" #loginForm="ngForm" action="" autocomplete="off" (ngSubmit)="login()" method="POST">
and:
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-lg btn-info btn-block btnlog" [disabled]="loginForm.invalid">Login</button
Dont forget that this way, that button() does not get called.
Angular documentation is really helpful on most of the generel topics, maybe you should take a look there.
Additionally you should consider reading up on some basic information about forms. I personally suggest: forms on MDN and buttons on MDN.
Here's a strapped version of my form for sending comments.
As you see, I prevented the ENTER event on textarea and that will cause pressing ENTER while focused on textarea to not make a new line (but you can use SHIFT + ENTER).
Pressing enter sends a form.
<form #addCommentForm="ngForm" (keydown.enter)="addComment(addCommentForm.value)">
<textarea (keydown.enter)="$event.preventDefault()" type="text" placeholder="Leave a comment..." name="description" #description="ngModel" [(ngModel)]="comment.description"></textarea>
</form>
Give a try to
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-lg btn-info btn-block btnlog" [disabled]="loginForm.invalid" (click)="login()">Login</button>

};
$scope.addProspect = function() {
$rootScope.data.ProspectNotes = $scope.notes;
$scope.ProspectNotes = "";
};
function fillFormData() {
$scope.prospectName = $rootScope.data.Name;
}
$scope.addProspectForm = function() {

</div>
</div>
second html page
<div class="container" id="form-container">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="notes"> Notes for Prospect {{data.Name}}</label>
<textarea rows="20" id="notes" name="notes" ng-model="notes" class="form-control"></textarea>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="button" id="cancel-button" value="Back" class="col-sm-2 btn btn-primary" ng-click="addProspectForm()">
<button type="submit" class="col-sm-2 btn btn-primary" ng-click="addProspect()" style="margin-left:10px;"> Add </button>
</div>
</div>
Use a factory to store your data and then retrieve the same.
