My project does not recognize the css and other files in the html files I have created, although I have written the extension paths correctly. How can I fix?
First of all you need to configure serving static files in Startup
app.UseStaticFiles(); //serves wwwroot by default
To serve your theme folder you need to add the following lines
app.UseStaticFiles(new StaticFileOptions
{
FileProvider = new PhysicalFileProvider(
Path.Combine(Directory.GetCurrentDirectory(), "theme")),
RequestPath = "/theme"
});
You did not put the correct path there. Your "style.css" is in 'theme/src/style.css' not in the 'theme/style.css'. Also use VS Code not Visual Studio because is useless if you create just files.
Also you did not provide all the files that are in the JS folder and CSS folder.

I have multiple HTML pages with CSS and js files that work(if I open an HTML page on its own using chrome for example) I have tried to use these pages inside a node js project I created.
but for some reason, it doesn't recognize the js file and doesn't apply the CSS design.
I had installed path, but I still can't get node js to recognize the js file.
I'm referring to the js file inside the HTML code by
You need to let the node know that you want to use these files in your project. Or you have to get permission to use these files from the node.
To do this, create a directory called 'public' in the root path of your project
And use the following code in the main file of your project
const path = require('path');
const express = require('express');
app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, 'public')))
The above code means that any file in the public folder (such as js css img) is allowed to access and use
Please, help me understand, how to deal with such issue:
I use vue-cli and I want to build in dev mode some js file and then be able to access it by url like: http://localhost:8080/my-file.js
But by default, I can't do it in such way. As I understand, I have to override devServer option?
You can put the JS files you want to include in a root folder called /public/ and when yarn build runs (or npm build if you're using that) it will output them exactly as they are in public to the dist folder for reference like you're looking for.
Note that the public folder needs to be at the same level as your src folder - not inside the src folder.

I'm using Webpack with Storybook and need to include a JavaScript library file in an HTML file via a script tag. Unfortunately, I get a 404 error indicating that the file was not found (the file's path is based on my local filesystem and is correct). How do I inform Webpack regarding where to look for my library or "static" files?
Add files in entry object in webpack.config.js
entryPoint = {
app: ['path/to/script', 'path/to/script2','./index.js'],
};
This will make sure that you have the library loaded when you have run index.js (entry point of project).
More on Webpack entry points.
I'm writing a tornado web app and have a file named "static" with files such as main.js, require.js, elasticsearch.js, and d3.v3.js. The last three are just source code for the javascript libraries.
In my index.html file I have the lines
<script>src={{ static_url("scripts/require.js") }}></script>
<script>require([{{ static_url("scripts/main.js") }}], function () {})</script>
Now when I run the app, I get two errors:
ERROR:tornado.general:Could not open static file '...'
for each of my two files that I'm reading in. Has anyone ever had a similar issue or have any insights as to why this is happening?
Are the js files directly in the static directory or in a scripts subdirectory? Assuming you did something like static_path="static" when creating the application, the files need to live in static/scripts/*.js to match the paths you use in your static_url call.
I have created Dynamic web project and it has .html, .css and .js files. I group these file in respective folders like .js file in javascripts folder and .html file in views folder but i don't able to access these file in project. I used eclipse IDE for this. Is there need to configure path for these folder?
You need to put the JSP file in /index.jsp instead of in /WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp. This way the whole servlet is superflous by the way.
WebContent
|-- META-INF
|-- WEB-INF
| -- web.xml
-- index.jsp
If you're absolutely positive that you need to invoke a servlet this strange way, then you should map it on an URL pattern of /index.jsp instead of /index. You only need to change it to get the request dispatcher from request instead of from config and get rid of the whole init() method.
These are not Java source files, so it makes no sense to configure them as such. By default in a Dynamic Web Project you only see the src folder under Java Resources. Other folders will be listed at the bottom of the tree. This is by design.
Or if you meant, that you do not see them when you move into the folder by an external file manager: press F5 on the project.
Its based on from which file you are trying to access those files.
If it is in the same folder where your working project file is, then you can use just the file name. no need of path.
If it is in the another folder which is under the same parent folder of your working project file then you can use location like in the following /javascript/sample.js
In your example if you are trying to access your js file from your html file you can use the following location
../javascript/sample.js
the prefix../ will go to the parent folder of the file(Folder upward journey)
I got answer to my question...
Now my directory structure is
WebContent
--javascripts
--stylesheets
--viwes
--META-INF
--WEB-INF
Note: view contain html files
To change path of my welcome html file i made bit change in web.xml present in WEB-INFfolder.
<welcome-file-list>
<welcome-file>/views/welcome.html</welcome-file>
</welcome-file-list>
