Trying to get rotation angle of straight line with getRotation() method but it always returning 0.0
Tried this method:

Like other page elements, a line's rotation isn't the vertical angle of the line, but the rotation of its bounding box. When you create a line with specified start and end points, its rotation is always 0°.
If you want to get the actual rotation of a line, based on its start and end points, you have to get the position of these points.
You can get these positions via getStart() and getEnd(). Both these two methods return a Point, whose coordinates can be accessed via getX() and getY().
Based on these coordinates, you can calculate the angle between the line and the axis you desire using some basic trigonometry.

How can I rotate object in pixel grid properly?

I have an 2D grid made from 1D array with with and height property. In that grid I have a box object which I want to rotate by X amount of degrees.
I have used this formula to rotate each pixel of object in grid:
newX = floor(cos(angle)*x - sin(angle)*y)
newY = floor(sin(angle)*x + cos(angle)*y)
It works fine when the box is small but if the box is bigger I get some empty cells. How can I fill empty spaces witch should be filled.
Here is an example of box with width and height 10 and then rotated by 45 degrees:
Perform reverse mapping:
Walk through all pixels of result. You can use bounding box of rotated image and scan its lines.
For every pixel one get coordinates of corresponding source pixel. If they lie in valid range (source rectangle), then copy source color to result.
To get reverse mapping formula, just change angle sign (if you have pure rotation without shift)
oldx = cos(angle)*newx + sin(angle)*newy
oldy = -sin(angle)*newx + cos(angle)*newy

Photoshop move layer along y-axis

I'm working on a script that will move a layer, right, left, up, or down. This depends upon which edge of the layer is inside the canvas.
I've managed to get the layer moving left and right (x-axis) using bounds[0] and bounds[2].
But when I try to get it to move up or down, it still moves left/right. Is it the bounds number I've got wrong?

The first thing you probably want to do in a situation like this is to check the documentation. For .translate() we can find the following:
so to move horizontally we would use deltaX and to move vertically deltaY, in your code you're giving to .translate() only deltaX, so as expected your layer is being moved horizontally. To fix this pass 0 as a first argument and your Height-Y1 as a second one:

Rotating a shape in KineticJS seems to move it out of sync with it's group

I am working on some image viewing tools in KineticJS. I have a rotate tool. When you move the mouse over an image, a line appears from the centre of the image to the mouse position, and then when you click and move, the line follows and the image rotates around that point, in sync with the line. This works great.
My issue is, I have the following set up:
Canvas->
Stage->
Layer->
GroupA->
GroupB->
Image
This is because I draw tabs for options on GroupA and regard it as a container for the image. GroupB is used because I flip GroupB to flip the image ( and down the track, any objects like Text and Paths that I add to the image ), so that it flips but stays in place. This all works well. I am also hoping when I offer zoom, to zoom groupb and thus zoom anything drawn on the image, but for groupA to create clipping and continue to support drag buttons, etc.
The object I am rotating, is GroupA. Here is the method I call to set up rotation:

getCentrePoint is a method that uses trig to get the size of the image, based on the rotation. As I draw a line to the centre of the image, I can tell it's working well, to start with. I've also stepped in to it and it always returns values only slightly higher than the actual width and height, they always look like they should be about what I'd expect, for the angle of the image.
Here is the code I use on mouse move to rotate the image:

Much of this code is ephemeral, it's maintaining the line ( which is 80% of the length from the centre to my mouse, as I also show a rotate icon, over the mouse.
Sorry for the long windedness, I'm trying to make sure I am clear, and that it's obvious that I've done a lot of work before asking for help.
So, here is my issue. After I've rotated a few times, when I click again, the 'centre' point that the line draws to, is way off the bottom right of my screen, and if I set a break point, sure enough, the absolute position of my groups are no longer in sync. This seems to me like my rotation has moved the image in the manner I hoped, but moved my group off screen. When I set offsetX and offsetY, do I need to also set it on all the children ? But, it's the bottom child I can see, and the top group I set those things on, so I don't really understand how this is happening.
I do notice my image jumps a few pixels when I move the mouse over it ( which is when the init method is called ) so I feel like perhaps I am just out slightly somewhere, and it's causing this flow on effect. I've done some more testing, and my image always jumps slightly up and to the right when I move the mouse over it, and the rotate tool continues to work reliably, so long as I don't move the mouse over the image again, causing my init method to call. It seems like every time this is called, is when it breaks. So, I could just call it once, but I'd have to associate the data with the image then, for the simple reason that once I have many images, I'll need to change my data as my selected image changes. Either way, I'd prefer to understand and resolve the issue, than just hide it.
Any help appreciated.

How does one rotate a HTML canvas object around a fixed point using mouse action?

For example it may be used in the application of manually adjusting the hands of the clock. I guess it probably involves translating the needle (to make the end point of the needle the centre of rotation) then rotating it, then translating the needle again.
But since the needle listens to the mouse event all the time, the 1st mouse event will be captured. The result is that the needle ends up being translated and not rotated at all. Mouse event is impossible to debug too...
Any idea or code snippets that I can refer to? Using Javascript or CSS to rotate both fine.
In your example, you will want to calculate the angle between the centre of the clock face (black dot), and the current mouse position (red dot), relative to the Y axis (cardinal north if you imagine a compass).
If I remember my trig correctly, you can calculate this by using the following:

In the formula, x and y are the coordinates of the two points, one of which you will know (it is the centre of the clock face), and the other you can get from the mouse move event.
Once you have the angle, you can simply translate to the the centre of the circle, rotate the canvas by the calculated amount, and draw the hand.

Isometric Screen to Map

I'm trying to figure out how I can get the correct "active" tile under the mouse when I have "ramp" and +1 height tiles (see picture below).
When my world is flat, everything works no problem. Once I add a tile with a height of say +1, along with a ramp going back to +0, my screen -> map routine is still looking as if everything is "flat".
In the picture above, the green "ramp" is the real tile I want to render and calculate mouse -> map, however the blue tile you see "below" it is the area which gets calculated. So if you move your mouse into any of the dark green areas, it thinks you're on another tile.
Here is my map render (very simple)

Your assumption is correct. In order to "pick" against world geometry, your routine needs to be aware of the world (and not just the base-level tile configuration). That is, without any concept of the height of the tiles near the one that is currently picked (by your current algorithm), there's no way to determine whether a neighboring tile (or one even further away, depending on the permitted height) should be intercepted by picking ray.
You've got the final possible point of your picking ray, already. What remains is to define the remainder of the ray, in world-space, and to check that ray for intersections with world geometry.
If, like the picture, your view angle is always 45 degrees and always from the same direction, your mouse -> map routine could use an algorithm something like:
calculate i,j of tile as you're doing currently (your final value of xmouse, ymouse)
look up height and angle of tile at i,j
given the height and angle, does this tile intersect the picking ray? If so, set lasti, lastj = i, j
increment/decrement i,j one step diagonally toward viewer
have we fallen off the edge of the map? If so, return lasti, lastj. Otherwise go back to 2.
Depending on the maximum height of a tile, you might have to check only 2 tiles, rather than going all the way to the edge of the map.
3 is the tricky part, and depends on your world geometry. Draw some triangles and you should be able to figure it out. Or you might try looking at the function intersect_quadrilateral_ray() here.
