Bootstrap modal malfunctioning - javascript

My bootstrap modal is malfunctioning, it's displayed as if there is no css or javascript files, I have tried to find the solution to this but i have not been able to resolve it, I even used the example in their website, it's not still working. below is my bootstrap code.
<!-- Button trigger modal -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#exampleModal">
Launch demo modal
</button>
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="exampleModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">

displayed as if there is no css or javascript files
Because there is no css or javascript in your code example and screen.
Bootstrap is CSS framework so you need to include bundled CSS to your project.

Modal Not Popping Up When Clicking Button

I'm doing a walkthrough project to learn bootstrap, everything has been going well however now at a part of the project which I followed perfectly to create a signup modal, the button is not causing the modal to popup.
I have double checked that all my bootstrap links are in the right order, triple checked spelling errors, everything seems to be fine, I see no reason as to why the modal wouldn't work.

Triggering modal from condition in javascript

I have been painfully attempting to try and trigger a modal to fire, when a user writes more than 10 words in a textarea. I have tried the bootstrap documentation, 'Toggle AND 'Show' but they don't work. My console informs me that '.modal' isn't a correct function? but bootstrap informs me it is!
Basically my modal does not fire when the condition is met.
Here is my code:
HTML
<form>
<textarea placeholder="Would you like to leave a review?" maxlength="" id="textareaID"></textarea>
</form>
<div class="modal fade" id="exampleModal" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<h5 class="modal-title" id="exampleModalLabel">Modal title</h5>
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close">
<span aria-hidden="true">×</span>
</button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
...
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-dismiss="modal">Close</button>
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.5.1.slim.min.js" integrity="sha384-DfXdz2htPH0lsSSs5nCTpuj/zy4C+OGpamoFVy38MVBnE+IbbVYUew+OrCXaRkfj" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/bootstrap#4.5.3/dist/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js" integrity="sha384-ho+j7jyWK8fNQe+A12Hb8AhRq26LrZ/JpcUGGOn+Y7RsweNrtN/tE3MoK7ZeZDyx" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>
<script src="/node_modules/jquery/dist/jquery.js"></script>
<script src="./script.js"></script>
JS
$('#textareaID').bind('input propertychange', function() {
if (this.value.length > 10) {
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#exampleModal').modal('toggle');
}
$("#textareaID").val($("#textareaID").val().substring(0,20));
}
});
Use .modal('show') with proper syntax and it's working. It will display modal as soon as you enter 11th character. You can change the condition as per your need.
Regarding the use of $(document).ready(), you should wrap most javascript stuff in this function rather than using it in the if condition. It is just as a best practices. Not all elements would be available when the javascript is being executed.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('#textareaID').on('input propertychange', function() {
if (this.value.length > 10) {
$('#exampleModal').modal('show');
$("#textareaID").val($("#textareaID").val().substring(0, 20));
}
});
});

<form>
<textarea placeholder="Would you like to leave a review?" maxlength="" id="textareaID"></textarea>
</form>
<div class="modal fade" id="exampleModal" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">

<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>

</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
You can leverage .modal('show').
Keep in mind that adding $(document).ready(fun... inside the binding is useless. You should be wrapping all your jQuery inside it.
Use the following:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#textareaID').on('input propertychange', function() {
if ($('#textareaID').val().length > 10) {
$('#exampleModal').modal('show');
$("#textareaID").val($("#textareaID").val().substring(0,20));
}
});
});

<textarea placeholder="Would you like to leave a review?" maxlength="" id="textareaID"></textarea>
</form>
<div class="modal fade" id="exampleModal" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">

Bootstrap modal does not open

I have a modal in my html file that I want to trigger with a button.
My button is inside a table. This is the code of my button:
<button type="button" class="btn btn-outline-primary"
data-toggle="modal" data-target="#squarespaceModal" >
<!-- [routerLink]="['/function', bfunc.AName]" -->
<i class="fa fa-pencil" aria-hidden="true"></i>
</button>
And this is my modal-code in the same html-file:
<!-- line modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="squarespaceModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="modalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">
<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal"><span aria-hidden="true">×</span><span class="sr-only">Close</span></button>
<h3 class="modal-title" id="lineModalLabel">My Modal</h3>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">
<!-- content goes here -->
</div>
<div class="modal-footer">
<div class="btn-group btn-group-justified" role="group" aria-label="group button">
<div class="btn-group" role="group">

</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
When I hit the button nothing happens.
I checked the console but there are no errors
Can anyone help me please?
EDIT:
I have imported these scripts in my index.html
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.2.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/js/bootstrap.min.js"></script>
You need to import the bootstrap css https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/twitter-bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css
As was mentioned you need to ensure that all resources (js, css, jquery) are imported in order to get the modal to work. Here's a simple html file with the modal code and all resources in the head.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Document</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/bootstrap.min.css">

<!-- Button trigger modal -->
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#exampleModal"> Launch demo modal </button>
<!-- Modal -->
<div class="modal fade" id="exampleModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">

Bootstrap 4 Modal Will Not Open on Click

I can not get my modal to open. I tried just the plain HTML found on the Bootstrap 4 site and then used some Javascript. I really can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Any help would be very much appreciated!
enter code here<
<div class="col-sm-3 col-centered boxes" id="box1">
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" id="box1modal" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#exampleModal">

<div class="modal fade" id="myModal" tabindex="-1" role="dialog" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true">
<div class="modal-dialog" role="document">
<div class="modal-content">
<div class="modal-header">

<button type="button" class="close" data-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close">
<span aria-hidden="true">×</span>
</button>
</div>
<div class="modal-body">

<div class="modal-footer">

<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button>

</div>
</div>
</div>
`enter code here`<script type="text/javascript">
enter code here $("#box1modal").click(function(event){
enter code here$('#myModal').modal('show');
enter code here )};
If You are using bootstrap no need of extra scripting.bootstrap itself provides its scripts to run different animations and actions. I checked your code.
The error lies in line
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" id="box1modal" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#exampleModal">
See you've set data target as #exampleModal while id of your modal is "myModal". Just change above code to
<button type="button" class="btn btn-primary" id="box1modal" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#myModal">
And it will work fine without any other script.
Hope this Helps...
You have given the data target as examplemodal and the id of div as mymodal. Both should have been the same, thats the issue.
i test your code , every things fine just you have to make sure
1) add references
2) your code must be inside $(document).ready(function(){ ---- }
