Removing little gap on left side Chart JS - javascript

I don't know how to remove space on left side which you can see on the image. I tried things like aspectRatio: 1 but doesn't work.
Here's the current config
const config = {
type: "line",
data: dataSets,
options: {
responsive: false,
maintainAspectRatio: false,
elements: {
point: { radius: 0 },
line: {
tension: 0,
},
},
scales: {
xAxes: [{
type: "time",
time: {
unit: "day",
},
ticks: {
display: false,
},
gridLines: {
tickMarkLength: 1,
color: "#d8d8d8",
zeroLineColor: "#d8d8d8",
},
}],
yAxes: [{
ticks: {
display: false,
},
}],
},
legend: {
display: false,
},
},
};

Change font colour of data labels on bar chart - chartsjs-plugin-data-labels

I have the following bar chart. here is the javascript options for it:
public chartOptions = {
responsive: true,
maintainAspectRatio: false,
legend: {
display: true,
labels: {
fontColor: "black",
fontSize: 12,
},
},
scales: {
yAxes: [
{
display: true,
stacked: false,
scaleLabel: {
display: true,
labelString: "Number of Students",
},
ticks: {
stepSize: 5,
min: 0,
max: 30,
fontSize: 12,
fontColor: "black",
},
},
],
xAxes: [
{
display: true,
stacked: false,
ticks: {
fontSize: 12,
fontColor: "black",
precision: 0,
},
},
],
},
};
Here is the html:
<canvas
baseChart
[datasets]="chartData"
[labels]="chartLabels"
[options]="chartOptions"
[colors]="chartColors"
[plugins]="[]"
[legend]="true"
[chartType]="'bar'"
height="300px"
>
</canvas>
Sometimes the data labels appear on the bars (see picture), but i can't figure out how to change the colour to make them white. Does anyone know?
UPDATE:
Here is the chart with new chartOptions, but still doesn't change the colour of the data labels:
chartOptions = {
responsive: true,
maintainAspectRatio: false,
legend: {
display: true,
},
scales: {
yAxes: [
{
display: true,
stacked: false,
scaleLabel: {
display: true,
labelString: "Number of Students",
},
ticks: {
stepSize: 5,
min: 0,
max: 30,
fontSize: 12,
fontColor: "black",
},
},
],
xAxes: [
{
display: true,
stacked: false,
ticks: {
fontSize: 12,
fontColor: "black",
precision: 0,
},
},
],
},
plugins: {
labels: {
fontColor: "white",
fontSize: 12,
},
},
};
I think the issue is because you add the baels plugin config inside the legend configuration.
It should be:
options: {
...
plugins: {
labels: {
fontColor: "black",
fontSize: 12,
},
}
...
}
The problem was due to the 'chartsjs-plugin-data-labels' plugin i had. Fixed it by adding this to the datasets array.
dataLabels: {
colors: ["white"],
},

Create a 100 percent stacked line chart with chart.js

I'm using chart.js to build my charts, but felt the need to create a stacked chart inline, but using the stacked:true property doesn't seem to work
Here is my code
var chart1 = new Chart(document.getElementById("invests2").getContext("2d"), {
type: "line",
options: {
layout: {
padding: 0
},
elements: {
point:{
radius: 0
},
},
responsive: true,
bezierCurve: false,
maintainAspectRatio: false,
scales: {
yAxes: [{
stacked:true,
display: true,
scaleLabel: {
display: true,
},
ticks: {
maxTicksLimit:100,
fontSize:12,
maxRotation: 0,
minRotation: 0
},
gridLines: {
display: false,
}
}]
}
},
data: {
labels: ['01/04/2018','01/05/2018','01/06/2018','01/07/2018','01/08/2018','01/09/2018'],
datasets: [{
type: 'line',
label: 'Tit. Publicos',
data: [20940429854.44,19639459015.81,19191914837.46,19290826114.34,19702912802,21274400792.07]

Stacked:true not work for line chart?

chart.js hide gridline inside chartarea but keep y-axis border

I would like to remove the gridLines, but still have a border on my y-axis. Here's what it looks like.
I cannot seem to find a solution.
I tried using drawBorder: true but it's overwritten by drawOnChartArea: false.
My code currently looks like this:
options: {
legend: {
display: false
},
scales: {
yAxes: [{
gridLines: {
drawOnChartArea: false,
// drawBorder: true,
// display: false,
},
}],
xAxes: [{
gridLines: {
drawBorder: true,
display: false,
},
ticks: {
display: false,
min: 20,
max: 70
}
}]
}
}
Set scales.yAxes[0].gridLines.drawTicks to false and and some padding in gridLines.ticks.padding:
{
type: 'horizontalBar',
data: {
labels: [4, 3, 2, 1],
datasets: [{
data: [50, 60, 70, 180]
}]
},
options: {
legend: {
display: false
},
scales: {
yAxes: [{
gridLines: {
drawOnChartArea: false,
drawTicks: false,
},
ticks: {
padding: 10
}
}],
xAxes: [{
gridLines: {
drawBorder: true,
display: false,
},
ticks: {
display: false,
min: 20,
max: 70
}
}]
}
}
}

White Space in stacked bar using chart.js

I'm using chart.js version 2.7.2 to plot some charts.
The chart is a bar chart, and i'm using a time axis to set the dataset points.
If i use a normal graph the dataset is showed correctly, but if i set the stacked axis, at the first item the render show a strange white space!
Look at the charts, with stacked:false its all ok, with stacked:true there's a strange white space at the first bar!
Is there a way to remove that white space?
Thanks

You have both xAxes and yAxes set to stacked:true.
Commenting out stacked:true on the yAxes will do the trick;
function newDate(days) {
return moment().add(days, 'd').toDate();
}
const lineData = {
labels: null,
datasets: [{
label: 'A',
fill: false,
backgroundColor: "hsl(50, 50%, 80%)",
data: [{
x: newDate(1),
y: 12
},
{
x: newDate(2),
y: 15
},
],
},
{
label: 'B',
fill: false,
backgroundColor: "hsl(250, 50%, 80%)",
data: [{
x: newDate(0),
y: 23
},
{
x: newDate(2),
y: 34
},
{
x: newDate(3),
y: 45
},
]
}
],
}
const lineOptions = {
type: 'bar',
data: lineData,
options: {
title: {
display: true,
text: 'STACKED TRUE'
},
legend: {
display: true,
},
hover: {
mode: 'nearest'
},
fill: false,
responsive: true,
scales: {
xAxes: [{
stacked: true,
display: true,
ticks: {
beginAtZero: false,
},
scaleLabel: {
display: true,
labelString: "Day",
},
barThickness: 15,
type: 'time',
distribution: 'linear',
bounds: 'ticks',
time: {
unit: 'day',
unitStepSize: 1,
displayFormats: {
'day': 'DD/MM',
},
tooltipFormat: 'DD/MM',
}
}],
yAxes: [{
ticks: {
beginAtZero: true,
},
display: true,
// stacked: true,
scaleLabel: {
display: true,
labelString: "Items",
}
}]
},
tooltips: {
mode: 'x',
},
}
}
const chart = new Chart(document.getElementById("chart").getContext("2d"), lineOptions);
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment.js/2.22.2/moment.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/Chart.js/2.7.2/Chart.min.js"></script>

<canvas id="chart" width="600" height="400"></canvas>

Alternatively, since setting yAxes stacked:true should be intended, data can be updated such that there exists data for A and B, even if one of them is 0. https://jsfiddle.net/zqrp0w76/2/

Chart.js: Bar chart shows labels, not data

I want to draw a bar plot with chart.js using this code (very simple):
this.plotEnergy = new Chart($('#plotEnergy'),
{
type: 'bar',
animation: false,
data:
{
labels: ["aaa", "bbb"],
datasets: [ {
label: "ijoij",
backgroundColor: '#000000',
data: [2000, 2300]
},
{
label: "ijooijojij",
backgroundColor: '#FF00FF',
data: [1500, 2500]
},
]
},
options:
{
tooltips:
{
mode: 'index',
intersect: false
},
title:
{
display: true,
text: 'Generated energy'
},
responsive: true,
scales:
{
xAxes: [
{
stacked: 'false',
position: 'bottom',
}],
yAxes: [
{
stacked: false,
scaleLabel:
{
display: true,
labelString: 'Energy [kWh]'
},
ticks: {
beginAtZero: true
}
}]
}
}
});
But I get this: The labels are showed correctly, even the y-axis range is correct. But the bars don't show up. I can click on the legends items to make the corresponding data disappear and the y-axis range would adapt correctly.
Anyone has an idea?
