I am trying to make a quick app for android. I have followed several tutorials on how to build an app using js/html/css (apache cordova). Could someone help me out with compiling the project into an APK file? I did not find any tutorials on how to do that.
Thank you in advance.

I use Phonegap CLI to make my android apps every thing works fine, but when I want to make my final .apk I face a problem
I have SDK JDK Java and all environment variables
I generated my .keystore and when i run phonegap build --release i have no error my problem is this
there is no folder called bin or any .apk file in my folder
I red all documents and questions from stackoverflow and I still have this problem
what do you think? should i switch to cordova CLI ?
PhoneGap has been discontinued.
Switching to Cordova CLI is certainly an option, but many find that installing the build toolchain is a lot of trouble to get working (and keep working).
If you prefer the convenience of a build service like you had with PhoneGap, have a look at VoltBuilder, Ionic or Monaca.
Today I am trying to make a cordova app out of my existing website.
This seems to be pretty easy but there are some errors for me.
After installing everything and creating a new cordova project I only added this line in the index.js:
window.location = "http://myHomePage.net";
This should be enough for using your hosted website in a cordova android app.
And it really seems to work on my emulator but when I build the release for the app with:
cordova build --release android
and try to install the output apk my phone says:
app was not installed
How is this possible and does somebody know this issue?
The answer is don't use cordova build --release android!
cordova build android works.
I just know that my application isn't static.
I have used this github repository to build my application [https://github.com/jainishshah17/jainishshah.com][1]
It works perfect when i try on local host but I tried to deploy using AWS (Bitnami) and lots of other web hosting platforms but cant seem to find the right one working for me.
Can anyone tell me looking at the repository what would I need to host the app that I built?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
For a simple MEAN stack App deployment, use Heroku.

Whats the use of node and npm in iOS apps? In my interview I was asked to create an iOS app that uses node and npm package.
Can I make an application without them and somehow embed them later on,I am a noob in this area.
Please help, thanks in advance!
There is so much conflicting information out there on this, I'm hoping we can shed some light.
Goal: Create and develop a phonegap app that will be built using phonegap build.
1) I don't want to install the android and iOS SDKs, that's why I want to use phonegap build.
2) I created an app using the cordova cli cordova create hello
3) There is no phonegap.js or cordova.js I guess because I didn't add a platform. But I don't want to add a platform as that requires installing the SDKs
4) I need to be able to debug and test this, so I downloaded ripple, which may or may not work, I need the phonegap.js file first to see.
So has anyone figured this out? Building and developing and app that will be used on Phonegap build?
Thanks!
Phonegap will let you create a UI using webview of Android, iOS, Blackberry or other platforms. That means you need to have native SDK to apply Phonegap Build. It doesn't mean that Phonegap will create an App for you and deploy it to other platforms.
