Bootstrap Form Input Float Value Issue - javascript

I have used bootstrap 4 framework in my website. Using this framework I have created a simple html form using bootstrap class with javascript function.
The form works good while i enter integer as input, But it shows some error while i enter float vales.
Here is the web-page.
<form role="form" name="BeamFactor">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Antenna dimension (D) :</label>
<input class="form-control input-lg" name="n1" required="" type="number">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Wavelength (λ) :</label><input class="form-control input-lg" name="n2" type="number">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Beamwidth :</label><input class="form-control input-lg" name="n3" type="number">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input value="Calculate" class="btn btn-success btn-lg" onclick="javascript:calcBeamFactor();" type="button">
<button type="reset" class="btn btn-warning btn-lg">Reset</button>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>BF :</label><input class="form-control input-lg" name="total">
</div>
</form>

Add step property to your input type.
<input type="number" step="any" />

add a class to parent element based on child class - inside of a submit event

Trying to target only parent divs that have child with class="has-error"
I'm using the following, but scope inside of conditional is referring to #pdf-form. Please advise how to fix.
JS:
$( "#pdf-form" ).submit(function( event ) {

$(this).parent().addClass('has-error');
}
event.preventDefault();
});

It's still unclear exactly what you are looking for. I suspect your initial setup is not quite correct, but this should give you an idea of how to access the parent elements that contain error controls.
It won't work here in the Stack Overflow snippet environment, because they disable submit events, but you can see it working here. I added an additional class to illustrate what is getting selected when you click submit.
$( "#pdf-form" ).submit(function( event ) {
var $errorElements = $(".form-control.has-error");
$errorElements.parent().addClass('added-error');
// If there are error elements, don't submit the form
$errorElements.length > 0 ? event.preventDefault() : "";
});
.has-error { background:red; }
.added-error { border:2px solid black; }
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>

<input type="hidden" name="pdf_press_filename_fieldname" value="report_filename">

</form>
To cancel the submit it appears, based on your example, that you need to detect if any form-control elements have the has-error class. Then, to set the has-error on the class on the parents of those form-control elements you need to use the .each() approach instead of the if you have tried.
Something like this:
$( "#pdf-form" ).submit(function( event ) {
if ($(".form-control").hasClass("has-error").length > 0){
event.preventDefault();
}
$(".form-control").hasClass("has-error").each(function() {
$(this).parent().addClass('has-error');
}
});

How to put a text limit in a form input box

I am looking to put a character limit on an input box on a form. I ideally want 140 characters but can't work out how to do it.
I'm using Angular on my front end.
My code for the input section i need a text limit for new.html
<div class="form-group">
<label>Description 140 characters</label>
<input type="text" ng-model="postsNew.post.description" class="form-control" </textarea>
I tried to use another textarea way but it deleted half of my form.
Here is my full code for this section
<section class="container">
<h1>What happened?</h1>
<form ng-submit="postsNew.submit()">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Tube Line</label>
<select ng-model="postsNew.post.line" class="form-control">
<option ng-repeat="line in postsNew.linesList" value="{{line}}">
{{line}}
</option>
</select>
</div>
**
<div class="form-group">
<label>Description 140 characters</label>
<input type="text" ng-model="postsNew.post.description"
class="form-control" </textarea>
</div>
**
<div class="form-group">
<label>Date</label><br>
<input id="enddatefield" type="date" ng-model="postsNew.post.date"
class="form-control">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label>Time</label><br>
<input type="time" name="name" ng-model="postsNew.post.time"
class="form-control">
</div>
<input type="submit" value="Fingers crossed..." class="btn btn-primary
pull-right">
</form>
</section>
With maxlength="int"
EXAMPLE:
<input type="text" name="text" maxlength="10">
Working DEMO.
You can use maxlength
<input type="text" name="max_length" maxlength="20">
<input type="text" ng-model="postsNew.post.description" class="form-control" maxlength="140" />
you can use this maxlength="140" attribute in your input field.

how to access different form elements in an HTML page using Angular JS without using Views of Angular JS

Hi I am new to Angular Js and I am trying to make a Login page where I Have three forms which are as follows:
Login Form
Create New Account form
Forgot password Form.
All this forms are present in one HTML Page.HTML page for the login(login.html) is as follows:
<form class="login-form" ng-submit="submit()" method="POST" ng-controller="SignInController" >
<h3 class="form-title">Sign In</h3>
<div class="alert alert-danger display-hide">
<button class="close" data-close="alert"></button>
<span>
Enter any username and password. </span>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<!--ie8, ie9 does not support html5 placeholder, so we just show field title for that-->
<label class="control-label visible-ie8 visible-ie9">Email Address</label>
<input class="form-control form-control-solid placeholder-no-fix" type="text" autocomplete="off" placeholder="Email Addresss" name="email" ng-model="email_id"/>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label visible-ie8 visible-ie9">Password</label>
<input class="form-control form-control-solid placeholder-no-fix" type="password" autocomplete="off" placeholder="Password" name="password" ng-model="password"/>
</div>
<div class="form-actions" >
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-success uppercase">Login</button>
Forgot Password?
</div>
<div class="create-account">
<p>
Create an account
</p>
</div>
</form>
<form class="forget-form" method="post" ng-controller="ForgetPassword" ng-submit="passwordGenerator()"> <!-- action="#"-->
<h3>Sign In</h3>
<div class="form-group">
<input class="form-control placeholder-no-fix" type="text" autocomplete="off" placeholder="Email Address" name="email" ng-model="ForgetPassEmailId" />
</div>
<div class="form-actions">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-success uppercase btn-block">Reset my password</button> <!--type="submit" -->
</div>
</form>
<form class="register-form" action="select_pricing.html" method="post">
<h3>Create Account</h3>
<p class="hint">
Enter your personal details below:
</p>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label visible-ie8 visible-ie9">Full Name</label>
<input class="form-control placeholder-no-fix" type="text" placeholder="Full Name" name="fullname" />
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<!--ie8, ie9 does not support html5 placeholder, so we just show field title for that-->
<label class="control-label visible-ie8 visible-ie9">Email Address</label>
<input class="form-control placeholder-no-fix" type="text" placeholder="Email Address" name="email" />
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label class="control-label visible-ie8 visible-ie9">Password</label>
<input class="form-control placeholder-no-fix" type="password" autocomplete="off" id="register_password" placeholder="Password" name="password" />
</div>
<div class="form-group margin-top-20 margin-bottom-20">
<label class="check">
<input type="checkbox" name="tnc" /> I agree to the <a href="#">
Terms of Service </a> & <a href="#">
Privacy Policy </a>
</label>
<div id="register_tnc_error">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-actions">
<button type="submit" id="register-submit-btn" class="btn btn-success uppercase btn-block">Create</button>
</div>
</form>
The Angular Controller for the Forget password is as follows
var myApp = angular.module('Login_Upquire_Angular',[]);
myApp.controller("ForgetPassword",['$scope',function($scope){
$scope.passwordGenerator=function(){
var email_id=$scope.ForgetPassEmailId;
if (email_id=="abc#gmail.com"){
console.log("Reset Request is accepted");
window.location="/login.html";
}
}
}]);
As you can see based on my Angular js File, I want to check whether the given password matches with abc#gmail.com, if yes then it should print on my console "REset Request is accepted" and take me back to login page(/login.html) and to the form element namely login-form. Yet I am getting the following error
Cannot POST /login.html
Can somebody help me with this? I have tried but couldn't find a solution for it.
You'll have to do some asynchronous validation. Something like this: http://www.codelord.net/2014/11/02/angularjs-1-dot-3-taste-async-validators/

Second jQuery Validate does not works inside Bootstrap tab

I've two tabs in my homepage, one for personal registration and another to companies. The validation works fine in the first, but in the second tab, the validation don't work and returns nothing.
First of all, the HTML:
<!-- Fire nav tabs -->
<ul class="nav nav-tabs">
<li class="active">Pessoa Fisica</li>
<li>Pessoa Juridica</li>
</ul>
<!-- Nav tabs -->
<div class="tab-content">
<div class="tab-pane fade in active" id="pf">
<form id="pfRegister" action="" method="post" autocomplete="off">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" id="firstName" class="form-control inputSk" placeholder="Name" name="firstName" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" id="lastName" class="form-control inputSk" placeholder="Surname" name="lastName" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" id="email" class="form-control inputSk" placeholder="Email" name="email" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="password" id="password" class="form-control inputSk" placeholder="Password" name="password" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="password" id="confirm_password" class="form-control inputSk" placeholder="Confirm your password" name="confirm_password" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<select id="gender" name="gender" class="form-control inputSk" required>
<option value="">Gender</option>
<option value="Male">Male</option>
<option value="Female">Female</option>

</div>
<div class="form-group">
<div class='input-group date'>

</div>
</div>
<div class="actionForm">

</form>
</div>
<!-- company register -->
<div class="tab-pane fade" id="pj">
<form id="pjRegister" class="captcha" action="" method="post" autocomplete="off">
<div class="form-group">
<input type="text" class="form-control inputSk" name="cnpj" id="cnpj" placeholder="CNPJ" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">

<div class="form-group">

<div class="form-group">

<div class="form-group">
<input type="email" class="form-control inputSk" id="pjEmail" name="pjEmail" placeholder="Email" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">

</div>
<div class="form-group">
<input type="password" id="pjPassword" class="form-control inputSk pwstrength_viewport_progress" placeholder="Password" required>
</div>
<div class="form-group">

</div>
<div class="actionForm">
<button type="button" id="pjSend" class="btn btn-default sk skBtn-primary submit">Sign up</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
</div> <!-- end of pj panel -->
The JS:
$("#pfRegister").validate({
rules: {rules},
messages: {msgs}
});
//companies validator
$("#pjRegister").validate({
rules: {rules},
messages: {msgs}
});
The defaults and showErrors is set inside $.validator.setDefaults.
I tried to validate one by one with this, but still not working:
var pfreg = $("#pfRegister").validate({
rules: {rules},
messages: {msgs}
});
//companies validator
var pjreg = $("#pjRegister").validate({
rules: {rules},
messages: {msgs}
});
pjreg.element('input');
pfreg.element('input');
Searching the web, I found a possible solution:
$("#pjRegister").each(function(){
$(this).validate();
});
But this way the form don't validate when I click the Submit button.
Your first button is a type="submit", which is captured automatically by the validation plugin, so validation is triggered.
Your second button is a type="button", which is not captured, so the plugin does nothing when you click it.
