Adding multi-line javascript to a page via DOM - javascript

I'm tinkering with some things, more just experimenting and learning how DOM manipulation works.

What I am trying to figure out how to do, is add that code to a page through the DOM. I know I can do it if I put this function in a >JS file, as I know how to call .JS files and have them load properly.
If I wanted to write that script out, as shown there, directly on the page, how would I do that? I have found some simple examples, like this:

But it doesn't seem to work when I put a long, multi-line, block of javascript in it. How can I do this?

DOM is a Tag based mark up structure. So a defined structure of Tags has to come in a defined order. Everything in DOM goes in Tags. If you want JavaScript in DOM, that will also be added to a Script Tag.
Within this tag you can put all your JavaScript and that will be just in the page for you.

HTML is a function... put the s variable inside of the function to set the HTML... see what that gets you. Example:

video iframe is not displaying the video wordpress https error

I am using a customized version of the gridby theme I have been adding some new page templates and editing some css over past few days and now I have noticed that the video iframe isnt displaying the actual video. When I inspect the element I can see the area it should be is highlighted. The theme uses a video url field to display a iframe of a video in the single post but I am really stuck now trying to figure out why its not working it was fine few weeks ago I just haven't noticed until now so don't know how to find the error. Try posting the video on another blank, new page and see if the video works on a different page with a white background.
Also, try making the video a smaller size.
These are some simple tests to see if it works on another page first. Let me know.
I figured out the problem. My site runs off https but the link for the video was set to be http so ssl certifcate was preventing the iframe from loading. I edited the video support php file in the gridby plugin and changed it to http and its working now. I found the solution here: How to fix a website with blocked mixed content

I don't know why you need to add the dynamic name. Best way would be to set the name to chargable[]. The field will then be sent to the server as array.

Get margin top with JavaScript

I need to get margin-top of an input with JavaScript. This is the jQuery code which works fine:
alert($("#input").css('margin-top'))
But I need it in pure Javascript, I have tried the following code with no luck
alert(document.getElementById('input').style.marginTop)
How can I make it work in pure JavaScript?
I just found a solution:

Coding DRY how to combine common functionality in these two objects?

DRY - Don't Repeat Yourself
ControlSignUp and ControSignIn are nearly identical. I've commented a "here" on the only 4 lines which are different. How can I combine this common functionality?

Simple solution: Make it a function ControlSign with a parameter, invoked with "in" or "up". You could call this "factory pattern".
Complex solution: you use a factory function to create the two constructors. OK, what I meant is the use of a closure to create constructors:
