how to styling initial place of rubaxa sortable element - javascript

I create sortable element using rubaxa's sortable library. I want to custom the style of element's initial place before it completely moved, like this sortable
where it background is azure with dashed border.
HTML
<ul id="sortableContent">
<li class="input-group fileItem">
<div class="input-group">
<input class="form-control inputItem" name="page_content[]" type="text"><span class="rm-content input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-times"></i></span><span class="mv-content input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-arrows"></i></span>
</div>
</li>
<li class="input-group fileItem">
<div class="input-group">
<input class="form-control inputItem" name="page_content[]" type="text"><span class="rm-content input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-times"></i></span><span class="mv-content input-group-addon"><i class="fa fa-arrows"></i></span>
</div>
</li>
</ul>
CSS
.input-group .form-control {
position: relative;
z-index: 2;
float: left;
width: 100%;
margin-bottom: 0;
}
.input-group .form-control:not(:first-child):not(:last-child),
#sortableContent .input-group-addon:not(:first-child):not(:last-child) {
border-radius: 0;
}
.input-group .form-control:first-child,
.input-group-addon:first-child {
border-top-right-radius: 0;
border-bottom-right-radius: 0;
}
#sortableContent .input-group-addon {
width: 1%;
}
#sortableContent .input-group-addon {
padding: 5px 7px;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 1;
text-align: center;
background-color: #fff;
border-top: 1px solid #ddd;
border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd;
border-right: 1px solid #ddd;
border-left: none;
}
#sortableContent li, #sortableContent div, #sortableContent input {
width: 100%;
}
#sortableContent { margin-bottom: 15px; padding-left: 0;}
#sortableContent li.fileItem { list-style: none; margin: 5px 0; }
#sortableContent li:last-child, #sortableContent li.fileItem .input-group { margin-bottom: 0; }
#sortableContent li.fileItem .rm-content { border-left-style: none; cursor: pointer; color: red; }
#sortableContent li.fileItem .rm-content:hover { background: #ccc; }
#sortableContent li.fileItem .mv-content { z-index: 1000; cursor: move; cursor: -webkit-grabbing; }
Here the jsfiddle.

What you're looking for is the ghostClass option:
var sortable = new Sortable(el, {
...
ghostClass = 'my-custom-class',
...
})
Just make 'my-custom-class' have the css you want (and name) and that's what it will look like mid drag.

I will be happy if anyone can help.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards
You can select the input fields from your HTML template by using their id's.
You you use icons8 to find the correct icons.
There you can get the Link (CDN) for each item by clicking on the download button and copy HTML.
You can paste the copied code in your HTML (just before the respective input field).
Afterwards you can style the respective item in your CSS file.
So that it has the same border and height as your input field.

Javascript Replace innerhtml

I am having trouble replacing the html.
I want the whole "expand" div output to be replaced, as in the h3 and li texts will change according to which button the user presses.
As of now, the code does work to a point, the h3 changes, but rather than typing the actual text into my javascript, I want to be able to call the id and change it. Another problem is that pressing the prev button doesn't do anything yet. I also want the list of answers to change when clicking next.
Desired Outcome
when user clicks on next button, html is replaced with next question.
when user clicks on prev button, html is replaced with previous question.
function nextButton() {
var str = document.getElementById("expand").innerHTML;
var res = str.replace("which icon is used for GitHub?", "what is this?");
document.getElementById("expand").innerHTML = res;
}
var iconquiz = [
{
iq2: "<h3>what is this?</h3>",
ia2: "<li>this is something</li><li>this is something2</li>"
},
{
iq3: "<h3>what is next></h3>",
ia3: "<li>something</li><li>something else</li>"
}
];

I haven't done all the cleanup here, but I think you'll get the idea from what's below. Note that I gave your <h3> element an ID so now you can just replace the raw text instead of trying to insert an HTML element into there. You'll have to work through how the answers are displayed, etc.
You'll also need to check the bounds of your array (list of questions) so your index doesn't go below zero or above the max index (length minus 1).
var index = 0;
function nextButton() {
index++;
document.getElementById("questionHere").innerHTML = iconquiz[index].iq;
}
function prevButton() {
index--;
document.getElementById("questionHere").innerHTML = iconquiz[index].iq;

Split BUtton is not Working

I am using this example on my application.
https://codepen.io/kushalpandya/pen/IAhin/
Button is appearing perfectly on the screen. I place div section and all css acordingly. Now when I click on arrow button don't know why options are not showing.
My Split button is not working.
$(function() {
var splitBtn = $('.x-split-button');
$('button.x-button-drop').on('click', function() {
if (!splitBtn.hasClass('open'))
splitBtn.addClass('open');
});
$('.x-split-button').click(function(event) {
event.stopPropagation();
});
$('html').on('click', function() {
if (splitBtn.hasClass('open'))
splitBtn.removeClass('open');
});
});
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<div class="containerButton">
<span class="x-split-button">
<button class="x-button x-button-main">❖ Action</button>
<button class="x-button x-button-drop">▼</button>

<li>
Item - 1
</li>
<li>
Item - 2
</li>
<li>

</ul>
</span>
</div>
Did I placed <Script> tag correctly.
also you need to add css! check this:
$(function() {
var splitBtn = $('.x-split-button');
$('button.x-button-drop').on('click', function() {
if (!splitBtn.hasClass('open'))
splitBtn.addClass('open');
});
$('.x-split-button').click(function(event) {
event.stopPropagation();
});
$('html').on('click', function() {
if (splitBtn.hasClass('open'))
splitBtn.removeClass('open');
});
});

Target closest icon to change it into another icon

I have a series of cards in the same page. Below is the example the example below where I have put for this example only 1 card (but there are many more).
I fail to use jquery 'closest' or 'siblings' or something similar to do the following: when a user click on a card it collapses and the javascript kicks in to show the content. I need at that moment to replace the "plus icon" by a "minus icon". (only on this specific card so not using at any point a id or class containing the number of the card '354' in the example below)
Jsfiddle Demo
The Javascript should target the icon but it does not change it when I click
If you have trouble making appear the content, do not worry, it's not the focus of the question. I just want to know how to target the icon and change into to glyphicon minus.

The ID is wrong collapseOne_354 while you are binding collapseOne
EDIT
I would reach the glyphicon with
var list = $('.cards-list')
$('li', list).click(function(e){
var card=$(this);
$(this).find(".glyphicon").toggleClass("glyphicon-minus").toggleClass("glyphicon-plus");
});

Collapsible search button without using collapsible header

With JQM, I am trying to achieve the following header design
|[Home] Company------------------------------[Search][Filter]
[list of items]
Home button and company tille left aligned and the Search and Filter right aligned.
When the user clicks on the search icon, I want the following search bar to appear between the header and the list of items
<div data-role="fieldcontain">
<label for="search">Search Input:</label>
<input id="search-tickets" type="search" name="search-mini" id="search-mini" data-mini="true" />
</div>
JQM docs guided me to collapsible headers. While this is good, its incredibly hard to accommodate other icons like the home, company text and filter in the same header if it is marked collapsible.
Is there any alternative to collapsible headers that I can use and still maintain status quo on the header?
The trickiest part is the header button/text alignment (please test my solution in all browsers). For the search bar I would just hide/show the main element on search button click.
Code -:
$(document).on("click", "#search-button", function(event)
{
$("#searchtickets").toggle();
});
.company
{
display: table-cell;
padding-left: 3em;
}
.spacerright
{
margin-right: 50px !important;
}
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.4.5/jquery.mobile-1.4.5.min.css">
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.3.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.4.5/jquery.mobile-1.4.5.min.js"></script>
<div data-role="page">
<div data-role="header">
<h1 class="company">Company</h1>
<a class="ui-btn-left" data-iconpos="notext" href="#panel" data-role="button" data-icon="home"></a>
<a class="ui-btn-right spacerright" href="#page-new-ticket" id="search-button" data-role="button" data-icon="search" data-iconpos="notext" data-inline="true"></a>
<a class="ui-btn-right" href="#page-new-ticket" id="btn-new-ticket" data-role="button" data-icon="plus" data-iconpos="notext" data-inline="true"></a>
</div>
<div data-role="content">
<div data-role="fieldcontain" id="searchtickets" style="display:none;padding-bottom:1em;">
<label for="search">Search Input:</label>
<input id="search-tickets" type="search" name="search-mini" id="search-mini" data-mini="true" />
</div>
<ul data-role="listview">
<li>List item 1</li>
<li>List item 2</li>
<li>List item 3</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
I think u need not any JS or css library for this, u can do it with only some lines of pure CSS code ( like this tutorial ) -
body {
background: #fff;
color: #666;
font: 85%/140% Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
width: 800px;
max-width: 96%;
margin: 0 auto;
}
a {
color: #69C;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover {
color: #F60;
}
h1 {
font: 1.7em;
line-height: 110%;
color: #000;
}
p {
margin: 0 0 20px;
}
/* reset webkit search input browser style */
input {
outline: none;
}
input[type=search] {
-webkit-appearance: textfield;
-webkit-box-sizing: content-box;
font-family: inherit;
font-size: 100%;
}
input::-webkit-search-decoration,
input::-webkit-search-cancel-button {
display: none; /* remove the search and cancel icon */
}
/* search input field */
input[type=search] {
background: #ededed url(http://webdesignerwall.com/demo/expandable-search-form/images/search-icon.png) no-repeat 9px center;
border: solid 1px #ccc;
padding: 9px 10px 9px 32px;
width: 55px;
-webkit-border-radius: 10em;
-moz-border-radius: 10em;
border-radius: 10em;
-webkit-transition: all .5s;
-moz-transition: all .5s;
transition: all .5s;
}
input[type=search]:focus {
width: 130px;
background-color: #fff;
border-color: #6dcff6;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 5px rgba(109,207,246,.5);
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 5px rgba(109,207,246,.5);
box-shadow: 0 0 5px rgba(109,207,246,.5);
}
/* placeholder */
input:-moz-placeholder {
color: #999;
}
input::-webkit-input-placeholder {
color: #999;
}
/* demo B */
#demo-b input[type=search] {
width: 15px;
padding-left: 10px;
color: transparent;
cursor: pointer;
}
#demo-b input[type=search]:hover {
background-color: #fff;
}
#demo-b input[type=search]:focus {
width: 130px;
padding-left: 32px;
color: #000;
background-color: #fff;
cursor: auto;
}
#demo-b input:-moz-placeholder {
color: transparent;
}
#demo-b input::-webkit-input-placeholder {
color: transparent;
}
<h3>Try this</h3><br/>
<form>
<input type="search" placeholder="Search">
</form>
<h3>Or this</h3>
<form id="demo-b">
<input type="search" placeholder="Search">
</form>
And u can also do this by this way of using a small JS-
$(function() {
$('.srch-button').click(function(){
var $wrapper = $('.srch-wrapper'),
isOpen = $wrapper.hasClass('open');
$wrapper.toggleClass('open')
.find('.srch-input')[isOpen ? 'blur' : 'focus']();
// remove this - onyl for demo
return false;
});
})
body {
padding: 10px 20px;
background-color: #343434;
color: #fff;
}
.center {
padding: 60px;
max-width: 400px;
margin-left: 200px;
}
.srch-form {
position: relative;
width: 44px;
}
.srch-wrapper {
position: absolute;
top: 0;
right: 0;
width: 44px;
height: 40px;
-moz-transition: all 0.3s linear;
-o-transition: all 0.3s linear;
-webkit-transition: all 0.3s linear;
transition: all 0.3s linear;
}
.srch-wrapper.open {
width: 200px;
}
.srch-input {
position: relative;
background-color: transparent;
height: 44px;
line-height: 26px;
padding: 5px 10px 5px 32px;
box-sizing: border-box;
border: 2px solid #ddd;
border-radius: 100px;
margin: 0;
width: 100%;
}
.srch-input:focus {
outline: none;
border-color: #aaa;
}
.srch-button {
position: absolute;
top: 0;
left: 0;
border: 0;
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
background-color: transparent;
color: #ddd;
width: 44px;
height: 44px;
text-align: center;
}
.srch-button:focus {
outline: none;
}
.srch-input:focus + .srch-button,
.srch-button:hover {
color: #aaa;
}
<link href="http://netdna.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/3.2.1/css/font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<script src="//cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/zepto/1.0/zepto.min.js"></script>
