Node.JS server side script to update JSON file - javascript

I have partially written a NODE.JS file to update the JSON file with data received from the client. The post works successfully. The Get command does not. I was wondering if there's a better way to do this? I have about 6 different callback options to write for. All different. I was wondering if there's a node.JS script already done that has all of the things I need. Or if there's a different language that would make it easier.

But there's an ajax call for all sorts of things with the jquery plugin that i'm using. I need to GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, and sometimes multiple within the call.

Using express you can do this much easily.

As for your question regarding writing it in a different module. That is based on the pattern adopted by you. There are various nodejs patterns available eg. Controller based or classes based. It all depends on what you find comfortable.

I am sending a blob in the body of a post request. When I send it to the server I want the server to download the file from the body of the request. How can i download this file? Or is there a simpler way to upload from client?

Once you have the file received, you can use the fs module to save and store in server

This solved my answer - https://attacomsian.com/blog/uploading-files-nodejs-express, which basically uses a middleware to do the upload.
This was basically like:

Also, i would like to point out how bodyParser cannot be used for multipart data. It is mentioned on the official docs, but even responses I get seem to point to bodyParser. So I thought I'd re-iterate that.

How to write a zip file from a request body to a file on Node server?

I am trying to write a node server that can receive a zip file of PDFs and JSON. In order to utilize it on the server I need to write it to a file on the server where I can call other functions on the internal data.
However with my current method, I can successfully write to a file in the server but when trying to open it in windows, I get an error "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid."
I've tried directly piping the request to fs.createWriteStream with the same result as the code below

Route to the view received by Node.js request

The data that comes with the request does not see any functions like res.view or res.render.
Error output:

TypeError: res.render is not a function

I can see the data via console.log(data) via web service. I use Sail.js.
Here's what you are doing wrong:
You are using same variable (res) name twice. And at the res.render it taking the one which is in the nearest scope. I have renamed the res => to response and now it should work.

Why isn't Node.js Express with MongoDB responding to fetch API calls (ReactJS and Redux)?

Using ReactJS, Redux, Webpack, Node.js and Express with MongoDB, I am following the tutorial https://github.com/vasansr/mern-es6 and trying to integrate it into my project. First, I am trying to make a POST request to the server I created. And it gets a response with a success and no error is logged. Yet inside the server POST API, it does not log console.log('Req body', req.body);, and in terminal I checked to see if the database has been created with mongo -> show dbs but it is empty.
Could it be that something is intercepting the request from the server? What could be the issue?

Since it's app.use the POST /api/users will still hit that middleware, and res.sendFile ends the request/response. You'll probably see that your post is getting back the client HTML.
Try moving your client HTML endpoint to the end of your middleware, just before the error handlers if you have them. That way, it'll only get used if none of your API endpoints match. Or if you want just GET / to return the HTML, change use to get:

I have a small comments about this code, for if(err) console.log(err); i think you should change to if(err) return console.log(err);.
For error case, i think you need return, otherwise the below part will be excuted, and there will report some error.

Node.js API returns JSON in terminal but not in browser

Having a strange problem. Been searching for answers but nothing turns up. I'm doing a node api tutorial and it returns JSON from my mongoDB database in my terminal when I perform any GET request but in my browser or postman I get nothing back, only in the terminal do I get any response. When I try a POST in postman it says it can't connect to the backend.

You have several callbacks with err as first argument but you are not treating any potential error. It means if something is going wrong, you are not catching it and returning an error. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but as a practice (not even "best", but general practice) instead of doing this
