Can I use Plotly to make animated graphs? - javascript

I've come across Plotly and I am wondering whether it is possible to animate things like bar charts with it. I noticed the Streaming API but I do not think that is what I need...
Can I use JavaScript to manually do this?

you can probably check out the postMessage API here.

Animations were just released in in Plotly.js. Docs are here: https://plot.ly/javascript/animations/

To answer your question, yes you can animate bar charts made with Plotly. Plotly has an open-source JS library built on top of D3 which should make it very easy for you to create your own animated bar charts. You could also just use D3 instead of Plotly.

How to create stacked progress bar chart with JS to display on HTML

I am looking for this solution. I would like to know how to recreate this style of the stacked bar chart.
I will use this to indicate the status of the machinery during the day. so the color can be used more than once like in the picture.
Show picture of Example graph
Would suggest you to use any library -
Chart.js is good one that I have used and they do support stacked-bar graph
https://www.chartjs.org/docs/3.5.0/samples/bar/stacked.html
They have a good document also on how to use it.

Multiline js chart with support for irregular plot intervals

Does anyone know of a js chart that can plot multiple lines that can have different plot intervals? I can only find HighCharts but need an Open Source one. A great example of what I'm looking for is available on highcharts demo page:

Thanks
I have use Google charts in the past, they are pretty easy to inject in your code, and they support multiline. Check em out.

How to create a drilleable bar graph in jsp page using open source charts API

We are developing a web application using Spring+Tiles. We have a requirement that we have to create a bar graph in a jsp page. We searched a lot on web regarding this issue. Means how we can create a bar graph using Open source Charts API. We found many suggested APIs like JFreeChart, charts4j and etc.
But we are not sure which one to use. Actually our requirement is we have to create a bar graph which can be drillable.
Please help us. If you could give any examples that will be highly appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance. Thanks a lot.
I would recommend you to use the rest services and send the json to highcharts OR D3.js OR DDChart, its the best thing to do in your case below link can do what you want :
http://www.highcharts.com/demo/column-drilldown
Highchart (licence) : http://jsfiddle.net/yPVX9/2/
D3 (free) : http://jsfiddle.net/mcuepavh/1/
DDChart (free) : http://kiersimmons.com/DDChart/index.html
You can try FusionCharts for a drill down chart.
Have a look to this and you can use this in your application : Fusion Charts Linked Charts. Regarding licensing issues, you may get in touch Sales Team.
Apart from that, you can use Raphael.js . Start from the basics say try creating a small rectangle, fill some color, opacity, binding some events, etc. With a day effort you can make a simple bar chart. Once you make a bar chart, attach an event to clear your container and redraw another bar chart with the drill down data. Thats the concept you need for your drill-down.
Having said that, I would still recommend you to use Fusion Charts because they takes care of some smart things - like space management of the bars, the intervals, the colour codes of the bars(if not hard-coded), axis part... Its a finished product which abstracts you from the technical obstructions and give your application a beautiful add-on.

Plotting animated pie chart using javascript

I want to create an animated pie chart in JavaScript. I have done some R&D myself and found the Google Charts API.
But my major concern is the actual data is sent to the Google server for creating the charts. I am concerned about sending my data to a third party.
If you're concerned about sharing data with a third party, you might consider an offline charting library, like ZingChart. It gives you the ability to create animated pie charts quickly and easily without the need to transfer any of your data to a third party. This charting library works offline, and is dependency free. There are a number of animations that can be applied to the various types of charts, including pie charts. Check out this animated pie chart demo.
Lists of the different animation effects, methods, and sequences can be found on the animation docs page.
I'm a member of the ZingChart team, so please feel free to ask if you have any questions! :)
I suggest you use jPlot! You can do Pie and Donut Charts, Bar Charts, Line Charts and much more!. See the API here.
A DEMO here.
D3pie is also a good option
They also have a generator that you can use if you want to build your an example and work from there.

Animated Real-Time Graph Library

Looking to create some visualizations of our server infrastructure and nerdy IT data. Want to do animated graphs that scroll from right to left in real-time, no page refreshes. Any good HTML5 canvas libraries to do such things?
Prefer a JS library. Thanks.
Try jQuery Sparklines or this link.
Also, you can do it yourself: Flot jQuery Plugin or Google Chart API, coupled with jQuery-UI and jQuery AJAX you can do your real-time graph.
i've had a very pleasant experience with HighCharts.
