my model contains some values that I want to modify before showing it to the user. Maybe this is written in the docs and I am to blind to see it.
Lets say I want to display my variable like this
<span decode-directive>{{variable}}</span>
I want to write the decode-directive and it should display variable + 1234 f.e.
I need this at a few points so I can't code it for only one special object.
I hope you can help me out with this.
You just have to use ngSanitize library and include as dependency in your app like this
var app = angular.module('plunker', ['ngSanitize']);
app.controller('MainCtrl', function($scope) {
$scope.name = 'Sören';
});
HTML
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="plunker">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
<title>AngularJS Plunker</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
<script data-require="angular.js#1.4.x" src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.4.9/angular.js" data-semver="1.4.9"></script>
<script data-require="ngSanitize#*" data-semver="1.3.15" src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.3.15/angular-sanitize.js"></script>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="MainCtrl">
<p>{{name}}!</p>
<span ng-bind-html="name"></span>
</body>
</html>
You could use an angular filter for this. If your variable is always html encoded text, an example of the solution would be:
filter('html',function($sce){
return function(input){
return $sce.trustAsHtml(input);
}
})
And then in the html you can use:
<span ng-bind-html="var | html"></span>
Fiddle:
angular.module("app",[])
.filter('html',function($sce){
return function(input){
return $sce.trustAsHtml(input);
}
})
.controller("main", function($scope){
$scope.var= "<Sören"
})
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.23/angular.min.js"></script>
<div ng-app="app">
<div ng-controller="main" >
<span ng-bind-html="var | html"></span>
</div>

I am getting AngularJS bad argument error while running the following example, please let me know where I am doing wrong ? Actually the following code is working fine if I run outside/normally, but when I copy/paste this code in my application, it is giving the following error. (this page/tab is displaying from my application's controller like: TestController, which is available in coffeescript. but I don't need any coffeescript for this requirement, I need it in AngularJs. So, In this tab, I need to display the below code/button.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.4.8/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
var myApp = angular.module('myApplication', []);
myApp.controller('TestController', ['$scope', function($scope){
$scope.test = function(){
alert("Success");
}
}]);
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div ng-app="myApplication">
<div ng-controller="TestController">
<div class="tab-pane" id="wizards">
<button type="button" ng-click="test();">Test</button>
</div></div></div>
</body>
</html>
Error: Error: [ng:areq] http://errors.angularjs.org/1.4.8/ng/areq?p0=TestController&p1=not%20a%20function%2C%20got%20undefined
This Plunker is working for me
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">

I am trying angularjs for the first time and I am having trouble getting it to actually work..I think.
I am doing the exercises on a website and when I run it on the website it works, but when I try to follow along and write it myself in my own files I can't get it to work.
For example: when I type this "{{store.product.name}}" it prints exactly that including the braces, but on the site it prints out "Azurite"
my code:
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="test">
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap.min.css" />
<script src="app.js"></script>
<script src="angular.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="StoreController as store">
<div>
<h3>{{store.product.name}}</h3>
<h3>{{store.product.price}</h3>
</div>
</body>
</html>
app.js
(function(){
var gem = { name: 'Azurite', price: 2.95 };
var app = angular.module('gemStore', []);
app.controller('StoreController', function(){
this.product = gem;
});
})();
Your app name is incorrect.
<html ng-app="gemStore"> </html>
gemStore is the name for your app not test.
when you working with angular app .
You need angularJs script first and others should follow.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html ng-app="gemStore">
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="bootstrap.min.css" />
<script src="angular.min.js"></script>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body ng-controller="StoreController as store">
<div>
<h3>{{store.product.name}}</h3>
<h3>{{store.product.price}</h3>
</div>
</body>
</html>
let me know if you need any help.
For reference you can see this plunker:
http://plnkr.co/edit/28gANOyhz5mLb7zkhu9W?p=preview
You shuld close the double curly brace
You have
<h3>{{store.product.price}</h3>
Should be
<h3>{{store.product.price}}</h3>

You had wrong ng-app module, it should be ng-app="friendsList" instead of app.
The error is not due to angular versions, it is because you are injecting wrong dependency in your app mdoule. Simply you can not inject mainCtrl inside your module as its controller mainCtrl which you are going to register with your module.
var app = angular.module('friendsList', []);
Also you should have ng-controller="mainCtrl" on html.
<section ng-controller="mainCtrl">

From Documentation
The syntax InvoiceController as invoice tells Angular to instantiate
the controller and save it in the variable invoice in the current
scope.
We also changed all expressions in the page to read and write
variables within that controller instance by prefixing them with
invoice.

app.controller('InvoiceController', function() {
this.name = 'World';

But it is not working as mentioned in the document. I just moved the inline scripts to external file.

Also why it is not working if i pass $scope to the controller function
app.controller('InvoiceController', function($scope) {
$scope.name = 'World';
});
You forgot to set the ng-app
