Webpack fails to build ES6 in external packages - javascript

I'm trying to use an ES6 npm package (in this case one called gamesystem) in a project and build with webpack (and babel) it fails to build any ES6 code inside the external dependency, why is that? If I have the same code as a dependency with a relative path it works fine.
App code:

You're explicitly excluding node_modules from babel-loader:
exclude: /node_modules/,
You'll need to tweak that if you want to pass modules from node_modules through babel. You might consider explicit includes like this:

Webpack with requirejs/AMD

I'm working on a new module for an existing project that still uses requireJS for module loading. I'm trying to use new technologies for my new module like webpack (which allows me to use es6 loaders using es6 imports). It seems like webpack can't reconcile with requireJS syntax. It will say things like: "Module not found: Error: Can't resolve in ".
Problem: Webpack won't bundle files with requireJS/AMD syntax in them.
Question: Is there any way to make webpack play nice with requireJS?
My final output must be in AMD format in order for the project to properly load it. Thanks.

react-redux-firebase, "You may need an appropriate loader to handle this file type."

I am working on a project that integrates react, redux, and firebase. react-redux-firebase seems to be a convenient tool. However, the code is not being complied successfully. Below is the error, webpack.config.js, .babelrc, and index.js. Thanks for help in advance.

Duble check that you npm install-ed all your dependencies.
Then if that doesn't work, try this:
npm install babel-preset-es2015
and add the a query for es2015 after your exclude

If you need to include a specific node module, try including your source directory and that specific node module folder to be parsed by babel-loader.
So instead of the exclude: /node_modules/, try

No such file or directory error in Webpack + highlight module

I'm working on an Electron app which requires the code highlighting feature. I installed highlight module as a node dependency and use webpack to bundle all the code into the app.bundle.js.
However, when I launch the Electron app, I notice an error from the highlight module complaining
Uncaught Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, scandir '//vendor/highlight.js/languages/'
Inside app.bundle.js, the highlight module still uses the vendor/highlight.js/languages/ to search for its utilities files which I thought should be included into app.bundle.js with their paths updated.

Setup webpack with server side rendering to load Sass files in asp.net core project

I'm using a Yeoman project template called "aspnetcore-spa", which is an ASP.net core 1 template working in conjunction with major SPA frameworks (Angular2 and React).
I created a project with Angular2.The biolerplate's code works fine and there is no problem. Once I add Sass loader to webpack.config.js and make a reference to the Sass file from any angular file.

I have already installed npm packages pertinent to sass loader :

I have checked the main-server.js file in wwwroot/dist folder which is the result of webpack bundling, I saw that the .scss file is loaded and they styles are processed correctly. Once I run the app though, shows this exception which is coming from the server side rendering side:

It's obviously because of the webpack's server-side rendering, as it's running the code on Node.js side (through ASP.net Core's Javascript Services) and there is a code that is coupled with the DOM window object which is not valid on node.
Any clues?

Webpack error when importing CSS vendor library into index.js

I am moving existing javascript vendor libraries into a webpack setup, where possible using npm to install an npm module and deleting the old script tag on the individual page as bundle.js and bundle.css include it
In index.js, I have the following
import 'materialize-css/dist/css/materialize.min.css';
However, when webpack is run, it errors with the following
Module parse failed: .......Unexpected character ''
You may need an appropriate loader to handle this file type.
So, for some reason, webpack is looking at the entire materialize folder, rather than just the single minified css file, and is then error when it comes across materialize/fonts directory.
I am unclear why this is happening, and what to do to stop it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
