My image called to is not showing up - javascript

I am new to coding and trying to make a chrome app which basically displays a bunch of fake error messages. I called to the image with a button, but the image is not showing up. Could someone please help and tell me what I am doing wrong?? Here is the code;
I was having some trouble with the putting the code in, so...

There's nothing wrong with ur code, but with its implementation. First open console (F12) and check if js file has been loaded properly. Also You should really consider where to put ur external javascript files. Usually they are placed in html head tag or just before closing body tag .
The difference between both of them is that, if u place js file in header, its loading priority is high, so it loads before DOM (Document Object Model, so just a HTML structure) and when u place it before body closing tags, DOM will load first, so user can see inetrface faster (Since js is loading after browser renders it).
After copy & paste of ur code and making a little cleaning it works. What i've done was deleting all unneccessary HTML code, changing js file name to something more expressive (in my case script.js) and everything worked well.

Wordpress HTML DOM Output Change via Hook

I have been trying to find a way to alter the final HTML DOM output (i.e., after JS script adjusts the HTML output) before it gets rendered on the browser.
I found a hook in Wordpress called 'template_redirect' which works well if I want to change the HTML output before JS gets executed but not after. So the before JS script execution, all I see is the JS name only from this hook.
Here's the problem that I'm trying to solve. In my wordpress blog, I'm including a JS script from third-party and this JS is inserting extra tags (such as Schema.org tags regarding that their organization - Schema organization tags). It is about 3000 characters long and it is bloating my webpage. I would like to remove any extra tags that gets attached to my final HTML (it is getting added before </html> tag) before shown in the browser.
Note that I don't see these extra tags when I do view source and they show up only when I do inspect element from Chrome or FF.
Any suggestions on how to remove the HTML DOM after JS execution but before it is shown on the browser via Wordpress hooks or any other way?
Thanks, JK
JS is executed in the users browser not on the sever(in almost all cases). You can either remove the tags after they are rendered using more JS(which won't really help any "bloat"), or take a look at the code for the plugin you are using and alter the plugin

Maddening scope issue

Little things like this drive me crazy!
Working with a typical Joomla website and all it's complexity.
Start with a functioning website. Edit a particular javascript file of a template to add a simple function:
function socialShare(title, url) {
alert("goop!");
}
I reference it in a link:
<a class="icon-facebook"
onclick="socialShare('blog-entries', '11-blog-article/15-oppressive-tyranny&title=Triumph Over Tyranny')"> </a>
The function is included along with 37 other external scripts in a file at the end of the page, included within the body element like this:
<script src="/bts/templates/vg_progressive/js/articleRev.js"></script>
I inserted the sociaShare function definition as the first thing in the include articleRev.js file. The list of external scripts include core functionality like bootstrap, jquery etc etc.
I can see the function in the included script file with firebug's debugger & the include line in the page source near the bottom. BUT IT DOESN'T GET EXECUTED!! If I include the exact same function within a element anywhere on the page it works just fine. For some reason the instance in the external script file is not within the scope of that page / article, tho I can see it clearly in the page source.
I can also put the function within script tags as the last thing inside the body and it is within scope and works fine. I discovered I can define the function in a different included javascript file that is found in the very same folder and it also works fine.
Like I said, things like this make me pull my hair out! What can cause this behavior? How can I narrow it down?
As per Ed Cotrel, here are 2 files which [may] be helpful, tho I don't think so. Rename articleRev.txt to .js and pageSrc.txt to pageSrc.html. As for your comments Ed, I believe I've stated the issue as clearly as I can.
The desired behavior is to see an alert box when the anchor tag is clicked. Simple. The anchor tag displays a social media icon based on one of the class definitions. The onclick attribute should call the javascript function socialShare and display an alert box containing a text message with the 2 parameters. The alert never shows up. If the socialSharing function is moved to the main.js script file located in the same folder and included the same way in the same place in the page flow it works. Is that clearer?

BabylonJS Execute Script from External File

I'm having a (simple) issue, but I have no idea how to fix it. Essentially, every tutorial I have come across for Babylon puts all of the Javascript code inside < script > tags in the main HTML page.
However, I would like to have all of my Javascript code inside a separate file. I have tried every way of loading it as I could think of, though I am a novice at Javascript (I am decent at C++, and I can see the similarities); yet I was unable to make it load. (It works fine when called from the HTML page itself).
Does anyone know what (if anything) I can do in order to be able to load my scripts from external files, and still get everything to work? Thanks in advance!
2 options:
register to the DOMContentLoaded event in your external JS file
reference your JS file with the tag at the end of the HTML page
You can find a sample in one of my tutorials here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/davrous/archive/2014/11/18/understanding-collisions-amp-physics-by-building-a-cool-webgl-babylon-js-demo-with-oimo-js.aspx
Enjoy and thanks for using Babylon.js! :)

How do I change and run js and css (less) files with ajax (using jquery)

When I click a botton I make an ajax call which loads different html code inside a div with the id 'main'. I have no problems getting the html code to show, but I can't find a way to change/add/include css and js code to my current page.
Or actually, I have found many different ways but non does what I want it to do.
First I tried to send over the link and script tags as strings inside a json object (with my other html code) and inserted them where I wanted them to be.
$('#main').children().remove();
$('#main').append(data.html);
$('body').append(data.js);
$('head').append(data.css);
it seems like this inserts them correctly when I 'inspect elements' and look under the 'sources' tab in the browser (chrome), but they don't execute/run.
Then, I tried to add id attributes to my css and js elements and then change the href and src attributes respectively (I have tried doing this both before and after my ajax call but both inside the click event). This allowed me to take away the css and js which belonged to the previous html code that was inserted in the div which is what I want.
$('#lessAjax').attr('href', 'location/style.less');
$('#jsAjax').attr('src','location/main.js');
and they are also included when I 'inspect elements' and look under the 'sources' tab in the browser (chrome), but obviously they don't execute/run either since this is pretty much the same thing as I did in the first example (only that now the code which is not used in my new view is taken away).
I then thought I had found a solution to the js file after finding the $.getScript() method since it executed my script which is directly under $(document).ready(function(){....}, but I noticed that the file cannot be found anywhere when I 'inspect elements' or when look under the 'sources' tab in the browser (chrome) so there is no way to take away or debug the code.
I have also tried
$('<link href="location/style.less" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet/less">')
.appendTo("head");
which includes the file but doesn't execute/run/work either.
I don't want to just include css and js code within script and style tags. I want to be able to switch css and js files as I change html code inside this div with Ajax (jQuery).
I have tried many more things in the 5 hours I spent trying to do this but I can't remember them all now. Surely this must be a common thing to do? Or are there any reasons for why I really shouldn't do this?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Can I load external stylesheets on request?
However please consider using a templating engine for content like this. There are many out there like underscoreJS and even frameworks that support them like Knockout, AngularJS and Backbone.
$("#somebutton").click(function(){
var path = 'path to css';
$.ajax({
url: path,
type:'HEAD',
error: function()
{
alert("failure")
},
success: function(result)
{
alert("success")
}
});
})

Could Firefox be automatically pre-loading html elements?

I have a JavaScript variable that holds an image tag surrounded by an anchor tag. Pretty normal stuff.
myvar="<a href='foo'><img src='bar'></a>";
What happens in Firefox, is that even though I'm not choosing to document.write the contents of that myvar variable, I nevertheless see that the image referenced by the IMG tag does actually get loaded. You'd never know it's happening without having a HTTP proxy tool running. I see in Fiddler that image being loaded. I don't see the image in the page of course, because I didn't choose to document.write the tag into the page.
Is Firefox trying to be too clever and not-so-intelligently parsing through the HTML page, even through the embedded JavaScript in the page, and seeing an IMG tag and pre-loading it? It's the only explanation I have.
I'd have tried breaking up the img tag if I could recreate it in a simple test page, but I can't. If anyone here tells me yes Firefox 4+ definitely does that, then I'll change it to something like
myvar="<"+"a href='foo'><i"+"mg src='bar'></"+"a>";.
It'll be sad to have to do that (or one of the many other alternatives) but it'll work.
Is the JavaScript loaded from an external .js file or inlined in a script tag ? If inlined, you should make sure that it is not parsed as HTML content, instead declaring it as CDATA:
<script type="text/javascript">//<![CDATA[
// JS Stuff
//]]></script>
