Now lets say I have this code set up.
<html>
<iframe id="content" src="http://www.newgrounds.com/" height="600px" width="100%" frameborder="0"></iframe>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js"></script>
<script>
//some code here
</script>
</html>
Let's say I want to remove certain section by class. For Example, I would want to remove the "header" class from that or just hide it. Something where you can't click on it or it doesn't show. I can use javascript or jQuery, doesn't really matter.
Any Ideas on how this can be done?

I have this iframe inside an iframe. Both of this iframe has no ID. The code looks like this:
<div id="Test">
<iframe>
<iframe>
<head>
<style>*CSS code right here*</style>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</iframe>
</iframe>
</div>
Could i add some CSS on the 2nd iframe using javascript?
To fetch the next iframe try this..
$(document).ready(function(){
$("iframe").next(iframe).css({"color": "red"});});
I'm struck in a project, I need to develop a project as agenty chrome extension, where it uses point and click css selector. First I have used iframe to display a site but I faced cross origin and security issues. Now I'm using object tag to display a site and I want to make like point and click css selector on a button click.
Here is my sample code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$(function () {
$('#dragit').click(function(){
// make $("#dvSource") to point and click css selector
});
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<input type="submit" id="dragit" value="DragValues" />
<div id="dvSource">
<object type="text/html" data="http://validator.w3.org/" width="100%" height="600px" id="test">
</object>
</div>
</body>
</html>
I have placed in div (dvSource) and I have a button with id dragit, once I click that button I want to make point and click css selector for dvSource content
I currently have a working webpage that has a list of links that open in a targeted iFrame. I would like to add a subsequent iFrame target and be able to open supplementary pages in that iFrame as well as the original iFrame with the same link.
From my research, it seems this should be possible with some JS but I'm struggling to figure it out.
So basically, how could I click on "Lot 1" and open up a Youtube in the "gallery" iFrame and, say, www.example.com in the "info" iFrame simultaneously?
<iframe src="" name="gallery"</iframe>
<iframe src="" name="info"</iframe>
Lot 1
Lot 2
You can have an array/object storing the links, and then run an onclick event that will change the corresponding iframe sources to the values from said array (iframes have a src attribute which you can change through JS).
For example:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var frm = ['gallery', 'info'];
var hrf = ['http://example.com/', 'http://example.net/'];
function setSource() {
for(i=0, l=frm.length; i<l; i++) {
document.querySelector('iframe[name="'+frm[i]+'"]').src = hrf[i];
}
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<iframe src="" name="gallery"></iframe>
<iframe src="" name="info"></iframe>
<span onclick="javascript: setSource();">Click me</span>
</body>
</html>
If you'd like to have multiple span elements, each changing the iframes' sources to a different set of links, you can always use a multidimensional array (an array of arrays) for src and add a parameter to the function:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
var frm = ['gallery', 'info'];
var hrf = [['http://example0.com/', 'http://example0.net/'], ['http://example1.com/', 'http://example1.net/']];
function setSource(num) {
for(i=0, l=frm.length; i<l; i++) {
document.querySelector('iframe[name="'+frm[i]+'"]').src = hrf[num][i];
}
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<iframe src="" name="gallery"></iframe>
<iframe src="" name="info"></iframe>
<span onclick="javascript: setSource(0);">Click me #0</span>
<span onclick="javascript: setSource(1);">Click me #1</span>
</body>
</html>
Here hrf is an array that contains another array (['http://example0.com/', 'http://example0.net/']) at index 0 and yet another one (['http://example1.com/', 'http://example1.net/']) - at index 1. By passing a parameter to setSource we can choose what subarray we want to pick to get the sources from.
Please don't forget to close your tags.
Using the a tag for your purpose is not a good idea, I recommend using a span. The a tag's purpose is to link the user to another document, not run javascript code (not using a also means you don't have to use preventDefault).
The javascript: prefix is used for the onclick attribute to provide backwards compatibility for some older mobile browsers.
This code works simply great :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<h1 style="display:flex;
justify-content:center;color:green;">
GeeksforGeeks
</h1>
<iframe src="about:blank" id="frame1"> </iframe>
<iframe src="about:blank" id="frame2"> </iframe>
<button id="update">Click me</button>
<script>
document.getElementById('update').addEventListener('click', function () {
// Change src attribute of iframes at a same time
document.getElementById('frame1').src ='https://www.google.com/search?q=java&igu=1';
document.getElementById('frame2').src ='https://www.google.com/search?q=farming&igu=1';
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
I'd like to make another "context" into my html page. Such as a page loaded by iframe. Now, what I'd like to do is use this iframe but without src.
Somethings like :
<iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="width:300px; height:20px;">
<html>
<head></head>
<body>
<div>
Hello World
</div>
</body>
</html>
</iframe>
I need this because I wont use ajax and I need a load a script that could make some problems in the same page-context (as I wrote yesterday on SO).
It seems that this is impossible :(, the only way to create a separate html file.

<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
// jquery and javascript functions
</script>
</head>
<body>
<fancy-jquery-ajaxy-html-section>
</fancy-jquery-ajaxy-html-section>
<noscript>
sorry you came to the wrong place - this site is all jquery/ajaxy stuff.
</noscript>
</body>
</html>
I tried surrounding <fancy-jquery-ajaxy-html> with a <script type="text/javascript"></script> but then nothing from that section is displayed even for users with javascript enabled.
But what I want to do is hide that <fancy-jquery-ajax-html> section only if the user doesn't have javascript enabled.
It contains content that is useless to someone without javascript turned on, so it shouldn't be shown at all.
A user with javascript disabled should only see a message saying that the page can't be viewed without javascript.
Is there a way do that?
The easiest way is to hide the section with CSS (e.g. display:none), then show it through Javascript.
EDIT: just a little example
<div>Everyone sees this div</div>
<div id="mydiv" class="hidden">You see this div only with JS enabled</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
$("#mydiv").removeClass("hidden");
</script>
<noscript>
<div>You will see this div only with JS disabled</div>
</noscript>
And, of course, in your CSS:
.hidden
{
display: none;
}
You could hide your fancy section using css:
<div id="fancy_jquery_ajax" style="display: none;">
</div>
then you could use use JavaScript to display the element:
$("#fancy_jquery_ajax").css("display", "block");
I hope that's right, I actually don't use jQuery that much. :S
Another approach would be to generate that HTML using JavaScript, so it can't appear unless JavaScript is running.
What I did is to have my javascript hide the nojsdiv and show maindiv. This way, if you don't have javascript the message shows up.
<body onload="allowlogin()">
<div id="maindiv" style="visibility: hidden;">
...
</div>
<div id="nojsdiv">
The training system requires javascript to be enabled.
</div>
</body>
I prefer to add a class of .js to html tags as soon as jQuery has loaded. This allows my to write css rules that apply only when the user has javascript enabled/disabled. This keeps your show and hide code out of our JS and lets CSS do its job and style the page
Here's how I would approach your problem:
<html>
<head>
<style type="text/css">
.js #fancy_jquery_ajax {display: none;}
</style>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/scripts/jquery.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$('html').addClass('js');
$(document).ready(function() {
// Stuff to do as soon as the DOM is ready
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id = "fancy_jquery_ajax"></div>
<noscript><!-- stuff to say if use had javascript disabled --></noscript>
</body>
</html>
It's important to note that we want to add the class of .js as soon as jQuery has loaded and not add it in our document.ready handler. Otherwise we'd be back to square one.
