I have a html page where I have 3 framesets. One frameset contains an attachment. The application works fine in IE8. But when I click the button that opens the html page with the 3 framesets in IE11 the attachment is detached from the pane and is shown as an individual tab. I tried adding the tag in my html page in the tag. But it still isn't working. When I change the compatibility mode from developer tools(F12) in IE11, the application is working fine. By default the compatibility mode is set to F5. The user cannot always change the compatibility mode from internet explorer. So, I want the compatibility mode to be set to "Edge" by default to IE11. Any help is highly appreciated.

Is there any work around using javascript ?
I am working on an enterprise application developed on MVC, JQuery and while moving between pages , we are regularly seeing a blank screen i.e. the HTML takes time to render however, the same is not seen on Chrome browser.
on heavy pages, the blank screen appears for 4-5 seconds and then the actual pages comes up. Again, the same behavior is not seen on chrome, even these heavy pages are loaded quickly without an intermittent display of blank screen
Please let me know if there is a setting in IE or in code that should be included to ensure quicker rendering of HTML on IE.
Thanks in Advance... !
Blow tips might help you
validate pages with W3C standards.
Check any closing tag is missing.
Optimize the content if its to heavy to load, in chrome go to network select "all" option and reload page check loading time.
add preloader image remove it on window onload() method.
Try to load site contents in the background for better performance in Internet Explorer.
You can follow steps below to enable that option in Internet Explorer.
(1) Go to Tools in Internet Explorer.
(2) Click on Internet Options.
(3) Select Advanced tab.
(4) Find an option called Load sites and content in the background to optimize performance and checked it.
Again try to make a test with your site in Internet Explorer 11.
if still issue persist than you may need to check your site and try to take some steps to make it lightweight to improve its performance in IE 11.
Within my AngularJS application I want to download a (dynamically generated) document.
In my controller I have
$window.open(url, "_blank");
This works perfectly in Chrome and in Firefox. However the behavious in IE (version 11) is different -> I get the file also downloaded but IE redirects the user to the home state/screen (so the user needs to navigate one step backwards to the last state/screen where he actually triggered the download)!?
What could be the solution here?
Thx
Create a simple bookmarklet
javascript:(function(){alert('test');})();
Opened a web page (ex wikipedia), and clicked on the bookmarklet, alert box was shown.
Then opened http://www.adobe.com/enterprise/accessibility/pdfs/acro6_pg_ue.pdf in IE.
Now the bookmarklet is not working. Nothing happens. But simple HTTP link bookmarks work.
I have tried in IE10 and IE11.
PDF documents are hosted in an ActiveX control in MSIE browsers.
bookmarklets or scripted extensions will not work on ActiveX hosted content... never, never, never.
Tools>Manage Addons>Show all addons> locate your installed PDF reader ActiveX control and disable it...
close and restart IE for the full changes to take affect.
navigate to your adobe test page...
expected... nothing or a blank new tab is displayed... the PDF reader ActiveX control is disabled...
in gecko and webkit browsers the Netscape plugins mode is used... chromium has their own PDF document plugin.... equally users of those userAgents can also disable their plugins (for security reasons).

I created a web site where I would like to have 1 of the button of my menu navigation to open the internet explorer browser. Since the URL I am pointing for this specific button can only be view with IE and not with Chrome, Firefox etc... Which mean if someone is using Chrome for example and want to access this specific link by clicking on it it will open IE browser and see the content. This is feasible? thanks in advance
No, this is not feasible.
Opening in another browser is totally user side. You would have to alert the user that this page is best viewed in Internet Explorer and leave it up to them to download/open Internet Explorer to view it.
