I wrote the ajax in the JavaScript function. That code is
function getValidate(checkID)
{
alert(checkID);
$.ajax({
type: 'post',
url: 'checkval.php',
datatype: 'json',
data: {checkID : checkID},
success: function (response) {
if (response === "OK"){
alert("Validation Successed.");
}else if(response === "NG"){
alert("Check Already Exists.");
}
},
error : function(err, req) {
alert("Error Occurred");
}
});
}
this code is outputs only "Error Occurred".
the connected php script is
<?php
echo("welcome");
$check = $_POST['checkID'];
$host = 'localhost';
$database = 'database';
$username = 'root';
$password = 'root';
$dbc = mysqli_connect($host,$username,$password,$database);
$checkno = $check;
$sql = "select claimno from check_details where checkno = $checkno";
$result = mysqli_query($dbc,$sql);
$rows = mysqli_num_rows($result);
if($rows != 0)
{
echo "NG";
}
else
{
echo "OK";
}
?>
at a time of calling the JavaScript function php file not executed......
please give me the idea to success it...........
Try this :
if($rows != 0)
{
$return = "NG";
}
else
{
$return = "OK";
}
echo json_encode($return);
Also you set datatype to json so response data must be json type
$.ajax({ dataType:"json"});
In php, store result in one variable and return json_encode
<?php
echo("welcome");
$check = $_POST['checkID'];
$host = 'localhost';
$database = 'database';
$username = 'root';
$password = 'root';
$dbc = mysqli_connect($host,$username,$password,$database);
$checkno = $check;
$sql = "select claimno from check_details where checkno = '$checkno'"; //use single quote
$result = mysqli_query($dbc,$sql);
$rows = mysqli_num_rows($result);
if($rows != 0)
{
$res = "NG";
}
else
{
$res = "OK";
}
echo json_encode($res);
?>
You are getting error occurred, because of below code. Try logging something meaningful to triag this.
error : function(err, req) {
alert("Error Occurred");
}
Please try below code to get a clue of the error
error: function(xhr, status, error) {
var err = eval("(" + xhr.responseText + ")");
alert(err.Message);
}
Reference: Take a look at this query
It seems that the php script is not working well.
Debug it with try and catch and see what output is comming.

You can try to catch the root cause of this error:
try {
$jsonResponse = json_encode($response);
} catch (Exception $e) {
// Handle JSON encoding error
die("JSON encoding error: " . $e->getMessage());
}
This will catch any exceptions thrown during the encoding process and allow you to handle them appropriately.
Edit:
function main(){
// ...
try {
$jsonResponse = json_encode($response);
} catch (Exception $e) {
// Handle JSON encoding error
die("JSON encoding error: " . $e->getMessage());
}
$conn = null;
return $jsonResponse;
}
you can put this catch error inside a function you wanna trace
Just remove the var_dump(...). Because that var_dump is already sending content back.
I'm having problems figuring out what is wrong with my json. I used php's json_encode.So, on every page I have the some form which need be sent on each page to different email address. However, if I comment jQuery file, then the form is submitted correctly, all data inserted into database correctly, and in place of jQuery AJAX response I get valid JSON, like
{"response":"success","content":{"3":"Thanks John Doe! Your message is successfully sent to owner of property Hotel Milano!"}}
If I want to read and process this data with jQuery instead of get valid response I get just empty [] I was try a lot of options and so if I add JSON_FORCE_OBJECT instead of get empty [] I get empty {}. However if I write json data which need to encode after closing tag for if (is_array($emails) && count($emails) > 0) { just then json data it's encoded correctly and when a form is submitted I get valid response, but in this case form isn't sent and data isn't inserted into db. Bellow is my PHP code:
<?php

ini_set('display_startup_errors', 1);

Thanks in advance for any kind of your help, any help will be highly appreciated!
I suspect the issue is the dataType: 'json' attribute. This is because the serialize function does not provide json data. See if this works:
jQuery.ajax({
url: '/classes/Form_process.class.php',
method: 'POST',
data: jQuery("#contactOwner").serialize()
}).done(function (response) {
console.log(response);
}).fail(function (error) {
console.log(error);
});
Alternatively, if you want to use dataType: 'json', you will need to send in json data:
jQuery.ajax({
url: '/classes/Form_process.class.php',
method: 'POST',
data: {
firstName: jQuery("#contactOwner .first-name").val(),
lastName: jQuery("#contactOwner .last-name").val(),
...
}
dataType: 'json',
cache: false,
}).done(function (response) {
console.log(response);
}).fail(function (error) {
console.log(error);
});
If you add you data using an object as shown above this should work with dataType: 'json'.
I'm doing a login with ajax, html and php.
I've already debbuged the php, it's ok and it's returning the json variable I need in the ajax call.
I have this ajax function:
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#login').submit(function() {
var username=$("#username").val();
var password=$("#password").val();
$.ajax({
url: 'login.php',
data: {
username: username,
password: password
},
type: 'post',
dataType: 'json',
success:function(response){
alert(response);
if(response.validacion == "ok"){
alert("Bienvenidos"),
localStorage.loginstatus = "true",
window.location.assign("home.php");
}
if(response.validacion == "error"){
window.location.assign("login.html"),
alert("Datos de usuario incorrectos, inténtelo nuevamente");
}
}
});
});
});
This is the login.php code: (I know it's really bad save password in cookies, but this is my solution for now)
<?php
session_start();
?>
<?php
include 'conexion.php';
if(isset($_POST['username'] && $_POST['password'])){
$username = $_POST['username'];
$password = $_POST['password'];
}
$sql = "SELECT * FROM User WHERE username = '$username' OR Email ='$username'";
$result = $connection->query($sql);
if ($result->num_rows > 0) {
$row = $result->fetch_array(MYSQLI_ASSOC);
$hash = $row['password'];
if (password_verify($password, $hash)) {
$_SESSION['loggedin'] = true;
$_SESSION['username'] = $row['username'];
$_SESSION['start'] = time();
setcookie("COOKIE_INDEFINED_SESSION", TRUE, time()+31622400);
setcookie("COOKIE_DATA_INDEFINED_SESSION[username]", $username, time()+31622400);
setcookie("COOKIE_DATA_INDEFINED_SESSION[password]", $password, time()+31622400);
echo "Sesión abierta indefinidamente.<br/>";
$respuesta["validacion"] = "ok";
$respuesta["id"] = $row["idUser"];
$respuesta["username"] = $row["username"];
}else{
$respuesta["validacion"] = "error";
$respuesta["mensaje"] = "Contraseña incorrecta";
}mysqli_close($connection);
}else{
$respuesta["validacion"] = "error";
$respuesta["mensaje"] = "Usuario incorrecto";
}mysqli_close($connection);
// encoding array to json format
echo json_encode($respuesta);
?>
I did and inspect element, the username and password are ok, login.php is called, but when I continue the inspection from the line 20, this works until the line 25 aprox and skips to the line 44, the success:function(function) is skipped and the "response" variable is undefined but the login.php is returnint this variable ok:
What am I doing wrong? (sorry for my english, I'm spanish speaker)
Ok, I've solved the problem so I'm going to post what I've done for those who have the same problem:
the function success:function(response) is taking ALL the "echo" from the login.php, so the first "echo" when the login is ok, is the trouble and response become an undefined var.
When I post with the wrong credentials, I only have one echo (the json_encode) and I had not problem with the ajax. So the solution will be this, in the php, after the if(password_verify):
if (password_verify($password, $hash)) {
$_SESSION['loggedin'] = true;
$_SESSION['username'] = $row['username'];
$_SESSION['start'] = time();
setcookie("COOKIE_INDEFINED_SESSION", TRUE, time()+31622400);
setcookie("COOKIE_DATA_INDEFINED_SESSION[username]", $username, time()+31622400);
setcookie("COOKIE_DATA_INDEFINED_SESSION[password]", $password, time()+31622400);
$respuesta["validacion"] = "ok";
$respuesta["id"] = $row["idUser"];
$respuesta["username"] = $row["username"];
}else{
$respuesta["validacion"] = "error";
$respuesta["mensaje"] = "Contraseña incorrecta";
}
}else{
$respuesta["validacion"] = "error";
$respuesta["mensaje"] = "Usuario incorrecto";
}
mysqli_close($connection);
// encoding array to json format
echo json_encode($respuesta);
?>
In order to get the value from the response, you need to JSON.parse() it first to allow your self to use response.validacion
How can I add validation and php error handling with ajax. Now the success message come correctly but how can I implement error message on it? I might need to add some php validation please help.
Here is my JS.

} else {
echo "Erorr while updating record : ". $connect->error;
}
$connect->close();
}

ajax identifies errors based of status code, your php code will always return status code 200 which is success, even when you get error in php code unless its 500 or 404. So ajax will treat response as success.
if you want to handle php error, make following changes in your code
<?php
require_once 'db_connect.php';
if($_POST) {
$fname = $_POST['fname'];
$lname = $_POST['lname'];
$index_no = $_POST['index_no'];
$contact = $_POST['contact'];
$id = $_POST['id'];
$sql = "UPDATE members SET fname = '$fname', lname = '$lname', index_no = '$index_no', contact = '$contact' WHERE id = {$id}";
if($connect->query($sql) === TRUE) {
echo "true";
} else {
echo "false";
}
$connect->close();
}
?>
$('#edit_user_form').bind('click', function (event) {
event.preventDefault();// using this page stop being refreshing
$.ajax({
data: $(this).serialize(),
type: $(this).attr('method'),
url: $(this).attr('action'),
success: function (res) {
if(res == 'true') {
//success code
} else if(res == 'false') {
//error code
}
},
error: function() {
//Error Message
}
});
});
I am trying to post 4 variables to a database on an external server using a mobile application created using Cordova 4.0.0.
I have already had a look a countless posts similar to this trying, POST, GET, contentType etc. and none of these seem to work. I have worked with JSONP before and it worked fine (I used that code as a template), but this doesn't seem to work.
Here is the console log:

With the help of #briosheje I managed to solve this issue. In case anyone has a similar problem in the future here is how I solved it:
The problem AJAX request was fine, the issue was in the PHP file on the server. To solve this I sent a json encoded array back containing success / failure messages.
Here is the full php file:
<?php
$beaconid = NULL;
$uuid = NULL;
$timestamp = NULL;
$status = NULL;
