angular js todo list not showing up - javascript

trying beginner's Angular using tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuiHuZq_cg4. i think files are in proper places, permissions set, yet my index.html shows nothing on my browser, and Chrome dev tools show everything in place, no errors. code is here" https://gist.github.com/9ad771c60d33fc020216.git, but also here: [what am i missing??]
index.html:
<!doctype html>
<html ng-app>
<head>
<script src="https://code.angularjs.org/1.0.0rc3/angular-1.0.0rc3.min.js"></script>
<script src="http://documentcloud.github.com/underscore/underscore-min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/todo.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="bootstrap/css/bootstrap.css"
</head>
<body>
<div ng-controllers="TodoCtrl">
{{totalTodos}}
</div>
</body>
</html>
todo.js:
function TodoCtrl($scope) {
$scope.totalTodos = 4;
}

Try
ng-controller="TodoCtrl"
instead of
ng-controllers="TodoCtrl"
S won't tag with controller

Displaying AngularJS content within Views

When I use the following static HTML with views, everything works as I expect it would, shown here:
https://embed.plnkr.co/MJYSP01mz5hMZHlNo2HC/
Now what I am asking, is how do I properly get this angular-ui accordion working properly within the ng-view?
See the accordion I am trying to use here:
http://plnkr.co/edit/1ZWBsbO6sQRnZ7CpPrdz?p=info
And my test plunker here, showing that the HTML shows up in the view, but it lacks JS functionality:

<div ng-view></div>
<div ng-include='"footer.html"'></div>

You have to define a controller with the name(PageCtrl) you defined.
app.controller('PageCtrl', [function(){
// Your business logic
alert("In am controller");
}])

React how to connect JS file with HTML file

I have a React JS file which renders the following:
React.render(
<TreeNode node={tree} />,
document.getElementById("tree")
);
I reference it from a HTML file in the following way:
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="app/listTree/treenode.css">
<h3>It's <code>TreeNodes</code> all the way down</h3>
<p>Edit the <code>tree</code> variable to change the tree</p>
<div id="tree">
<script src="/listTree/TreeNode.js"></script>
</div>
</html>
However, the contents of the JS file are not displayed.
I don't have experience in working with JavaScript.
Why is this happening?
Your script is already selecting the tree div element. So, there is no need to put a script tag inside of the div tag.
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="app/listTree/treenode.css">
</head>
<body>
<h3>It's <code>TreeNodes</code> all the way down</h3>
<p>Edit the <code>tree</code> variable to change the tree</p>
<div id="tree">
</div>
<script src="listTree/TreeNode.js" type="text/jsx"></script>
</body>
</html>
You are also missing the <head> and <body> html tags.
Further, if you want to render jsx in your React code, you need to add <script> tags for them as well (and type="text/jsx" as a tag attribute):
<!doctype html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="app/listTree/treenode.css">
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/react/0.13.3/react.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/react/0.13.3/JSXTransformer.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<h3>It's <code>TreeNodes</code> all the way down</h3>
<p>Edit the <code>tree</code> variable to change the tree</p>
<div id="tree">
</div>
<script src="listTree/TreeNode.js" type="text/jsx"></script>
</body>
</html>
EDIT:
As a test to make sure your environment is working (and you don't just have a problem in your Component. Try to replace the code inside Treenode.js with this:
React.render(
<div>Testing...</div>,
document.getElementById("tree")
);
Then, you have no external dependencies. If you see Testing... rendered, you know that the environment is set up correctly.
Try to load your script after your div and not inside
<div id="tree">
</div>
<script src="/listTree/TreeNode.js"></script>
You need to load React also
Here is how I get it working add the following script
<script src="https://npmcdn.com/babel-core#5.8.38/browser.min.js"></script>
and change the type to 'text/babel'
<script type="text/babel" src="script.js"></script>
and the external js file should be with
.jsx
extension
please see working example here
You should not place a slash before "listTree".
So your script tag should look like this:
<script src="listTree/TreeNode.js"></script>

Mocha Loading Blank in Browser

Context
I've used Mocha before many times, both in the browser and just using the command line. I tend to use Chai's expect module for bdd.
I have five test files that have been working with command line npm test. I just want to run the tests in the browser for better debugging.
Problem
The setup is just boggling my mind. I either get a blank Mocha page without tests or I see the first test flash on screen, then it redirects.
Current specRunner.html
<!DOCTYPE HTML
<html>
<head>
<title>Mocha Tests</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="node_modules/mocha/mocha.css" />
<script src="node_modules/jquery/dist/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="node_modules/mocha/mocha.js"></script>
<script src="node_modules/chai/chai.js"></script>
<script>mocha.setup('bdd');</script>
<script src="mineLocation.js"></script>
<script src="test/mineTests.js"></script>
<script>
window.expect = chai.expect;
mocha.run();
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="mocha"></div>
</body>
</html>
Previous Attempts
I've tried moving script tags around, thinking that dependencies are being unmet at load time.
I've tried relative vs. absolute paths. Console says all the tags are loading correctly.
I've tried modifying the run script tag. When it is as the example above, it turns out a blank page and says "Cannot read property 'appendChild' of null", pointing back to Mocha:
When the run script tag looks like this:
$(function() {
window.mochaPhantomJS ? mochaPhantomJS.run() : mocha.run();
});
It redirects from /specRunner.html to /2,1 and the console error repeats about every 30 seconds.
Here you go, just tested it.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="UTF-8">
<title>Mocha Test</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="node_modules/mocha/mocha.css">
</head>
<body>
<div id='mocha'></div>
<div id='app'></div>
<script src="node_modules/mocha/mocha.js"></script>
<script src="node_modules/chai/chai.js"></script>
<script src="app.js"></script>
<script>
mocha.setup('bdd');
var expect = chai.expect;
</script>
<!-- Tests -->
<script src="app_test.js"></script>
<script>
mocha.run();
</script>
</body>
</html>
So, I've found that it's not necessarily an issue with the HTML setup, but rather an issue with a test.
Setting the location variable globally within the file causes the strange redirection (to /2,1) and error "Cannot read property 'appendChild' of null".
Moving the variable within the describe statement, on line 4, fixes the problem.
My final HTML is cleaner as well:
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Mocha Tests</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="node_modules/mocha/mocha.css" />
</head>
<body>
<div id="mocha"></div>
<script src="node_modules/mocha/mocha.js"></script>
<script>mocha.setup('bdd');</script>
<script src="node_modules/chai/chai.js"></script>
<script>var expect = chai.expect;</script>
<!-- src files -->
<script src="narcissistic.js"></script>
<script src="morseCodeDecoder.js"></script>
<script src="windComponents.js"></script>
<script src="mineLocation.js"></script>
<!-- test files -->
<script src="test/narcissisticTests.js"></script>
<script src="test/morseTests.js"></script>
<script src="test/windTests.js"></script>
<script src="test/mineTests.js"></script>
<script>mocha.run();</script>
</body>
</html>

Using Polymer to include jQuery via HTML Imports not working in Safari and Firefox

I tried to include jQuery in the main page via HTML Imports, but it only worked in Chrome. Both Safari and Firefox threw a "ReferenceError: $ is not defined" message on the first line of the JavaScript code in the main page. It appeared that the JavaScript code on the page was executed before the jQuery object was loaded in Safari or Firefox. I was using the latest versions of Polymer(0.4) and jQuery (2.1.1). Below is a minimal example:
jquery.html
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.1.1.min.js"></script>
main.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Import jQuery</title>
<script src="http://www.polymer-project.org/platform.js"></script>
<link rel="import" href="jquery.html">
</head>
<body>
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
console.log("Hello World!");
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
Did I miss something obvious here? Thanks!
Neither Safari nor Firefox support HTMLImports today. Instead platform.js polyfills that feature using Ajax requests.
Without native browser support there is no way to make your <script> tag wait until the imports have finished loading. For this reason, to support the polyfills you have to wait until the HTMLImportsLoaded event fires (or put all your dependent code behind imports).
So, either:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Import jQuery</title>
<script src="http://www.polymer-project.org/platform.js"></script>
<link rel="import" href="jquery.html">
</head>
<body>
<script>
addEventListener('HTMLImportsLoaded', function() {
$(document).ready(function() {
console.log("Hello World!");
});
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
or
code.html
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
console.log("Hello World!");
});
</script>
main.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Import jQuery</title>
<script src="http://www.polymer-project.org/platform.js"></script>
<link rel="import" href="jquery.html">
</head>
<body>
<link rel="import" href="code.html">
</body>

DatePicker jquery UI not working

I am trying to build my personal website using express and want to put a datepicker on one of the page.
I tried to change the ejs file of this page, however, nothing works.
I am wondering if it is because that the layout.ejs file exists, and wondering how can I just load jquery-ui in only of the ejs.file? Because I cannot find any related npm to install . Many thanks for answering!XD

There is another similar question, but I think the answer does not works for me.
node.js - DatePicker jquery UI not workinng
When I just use Express and change the index.ejs like the following, it works , but when there are many pages, it seems that it cannot be loaded...
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.16/themes/smoothness/jquery-ui.css" media="all">

<script>
$(function() {
$('#datepick').datepicker();

node.js - DatePicker jquery UI not workinng
For whom run into the same problem, this is the reference.
I finally found the answer by checking the code.I was unable to load JQuery for in the layout.ejs, I retyped the following in order to load the bootstrap, but actually by using https://npmjs.org/package/twitter-bootstrap-node twitter-bootstrap-node, there is no-need to load the javascripts again. This may be a common problems for beginners in Node.JS like me.Hope this answer can be helpful to people who run into the same problem and the code is in the answer of the related problem.
<script src="/javascripts/jquery.js"></script>
<script src="/javascripts/bootstrap.js"></script>
<script src="/vendor/twitter/less/bootstrap.less"></script>
Hi look at this jsfiddle link http://jsfiddle.net/w7PHj/
you need to use like this....
$('#datepick').datepicker();
