Issue on Resting Select Options in Bootstrap Select - javascript

Using Bootstrap 3 and Bootstrap Select Plugin I have a select options list at This Demo . Now I would like to reset the select option to First option ("Select From The List") when ever user Clicks on Reset btn. I already tried this:
$('#resetForm').on("click", function(){
$("#selopt").val($("#selopt option:first").val());
});
<select class="selectpicker" id="selopt">
<option value="0">Select From List</option>
<option value="1">Volvo</option>
<option value="2">Saab</option>
<option value="3">Mercedes</option>
<option value="4">Audi</option>
</select>
<br>
<button id="resetForm" class="btn btn-success">Reset</button>
but this is not doing the job! Can you please let me know how to do this? Thanks

You need to use 'deselect' to reset your selectpicker as:
$('#resetForm').on("click", function(){
**$("#selopt").selectpicker('deselectAll');**
});
<select class="selectpicker" id="selopt">
<option value="0">Select From List</option>
<option value="1">Volvo</option>
<option value="2">Saab</option>
<option value="3">Mercedes</option>
<option value="4">Audi</option>
</select>
Reset
Hope this helps

page load select dropdown box option automatically

<select name="optionSnoInput" class="chosen-select" onchange="goodsViewController.option_price_display(this);">
<option value="">option</option>
<option value="104">A</option>
<option value="105">B</option>
<option value="106">C</option>
<option value="107">D</option>
<option value="108">count</option>
</select>
On the above dropdown,
I want last option 'count' is automatically selected
because I need counting each product's selling Quantity
but my shop program is counting Quantity as option not product
so I add 'count' option, and use 'display:none' css code..
Please suggest!
Thanks.
You can do it with JQuery this way to:
$(window).on('load', function(){
$('.chosen-select option:last-child').attr('selected','selected');
})
$(window).on('load', function(){
$('.chosen-select option:last-child').attr('selected','selected');
})
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<select name="optionSnoInput" class="chosen-select" onchange="goodsViewController.option_price_display(this);">
<option value="">option</option>
<option value="104">A</option>
<option value="105">B</option>
<option value="106">C</option>
<option value="107">D</option>
<option value="108">count</option>
</select>
Use selected for the default option.
<option value="108" selected>count</option>

Show selected option with JS

I don't know how to make next:
I want that when someone selects items from combobox, that item be shown in div.
What do I need to do?
<body>
<h1>VEZBA STRUKTURA</h1>
<div id="prvi"></div>
<select name="automobili" id="automobili">
<option value="1">BMW</option>
<option value="2">AUDI</option>
<option value="3">OPEL</option>
<option value="4">FERARI</option>
<option value="5">SKODA</option>
<option value="6">HJUNDAI</option>
</select>
<script>
</script>
</body>
You need to attach an event listener that executes when the value of the select changes:
automobili.addEventListener('change', function() {
prvi.innerHTML = automobili.selectedOptions[0].textContent
})
<h1>VEZBA STRUKTURA</h1>
<div id="prvi"></div>
<select name="automobili" id="automobili">
<option value="1">BMW</option>
<option value="2">AUDI</option>
<option value="3">OPEL</option>
<option value="4">FERARI</option>
<option value="5">SKODA</option>
<option value="6">HJUNDAI</option>
</select>

Enable/disable drop down list based on another drop down list

I have 2 drop down list
<select id="servergroup" multiple="multiple">
<option value="P1">P1</option>
<option value="P2">P2</option>
<option value="P3">P3</option>
<option value="P4">P4</option>
</select>
<select id="servername" multiple="multiple">
<option value="s597ap233">s597ap233</option>
<option value="s597dp392">s597dp392</option>
<option value="s397dp095">s397dp095</option>
</select>
I want that the second drop down list should get enabled only if we choose a value in the first drop down list. It should again get disabled if we deselect the value from the first drop down list.
May I know how can this be achieved using jQuery?
You can use the disabled attribute and using JavaScript, you can set it as false or true
function check(){
if(document.getElementById('servergroup').value!='')
document.getElementById('servername').disabled=false;
else
document.getElementById('servername').disabled=true;
}
<select onchange="check()" id="servergroup" multiple="multiple">
<option value="P1">P1</option>
<option value="P2">P2</option>
<option value="P3">P3</option>
<option value="P4">P4</option>
</select>
<select disabled id="servername" multiple="multiple">
<option value="s597ap233">s597ap233</option>
<option value="s597dp392">s597dp392</option>
<option value="s397dp095">s397dp095</option>
</select>
$('#bonusVoucher').prop('disabled',false);
jQuery('#bonusVoucher').selectpicker('refresh');
Use selectpicker like this and the most IMPORTANT part is this:
Note: Place your bootsrap selectpicker script after jquery script.
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/bootstrap-select/1.13.17/js/bootstrap-select.min.js"></script>
jQuery solution.
function change() {
if ($('#servergroup option:selected').length) {
$('#servername').attr('disabled', false);
}
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<select id="servergroup" multiple="multiple" onchange='change()'>
<option value="P1">P1</option>
<option value="P2">P2</option>
<option value="P3">P3</option>
<option value="P4">P4</option>
</select>
<select id="servername" multiple="multiple" disabled>
<option value="s597ap233">s597ap233</option>
<option value="s597dp392">s597dp392</option>
<option value="s397dp095">s397dp095</option>
</select>
First add
<option value="-1"> -Select Server Group- </option>
and
<option value="-1"> -Select Server Name- </option>
to Your Dropdown boxes respectively.
We can achieve requested actions using JQuery as Follows:
$(document).ready(function ()
{
//making serverName Dropdown box disabled by default.
$('#servername').prop('disabled', true);
$('#servergroup').change(function ()
{
if($(this).val == "-1")
{
$('#servername').val = "-1";
$('#servername').prop('disabled', true);
}
else
{
$('#servername').prop('disabled', false);
}
});
});

Show a second select box based on the option chosen in the first?

I have the following select drop down box:
<select name="selectcourier" required>
<option value="">Please Select</option>
<option value="collection">Collection</option>
<option value="Interlink">Interlink</option>
<option value="DespatchBay">Despatch Bay</option>
<option value="International">International</option>
</select>
What I want to do is if Interlink is selected a secondary select box appears below it and disappears if it unselected and another option is chosen instead. This is the second select drop down box.
<label>Select Shipping Courier:</label>
<select name="selectcourier" required>
<option value="1">Please Select</option>
<option value="2">Next Day</option>
<option value="3">2-3 Day</option>
<option value="3">Pre 12</option>
</select>
How can I go about getting this working?
bind an event with javascript on change and insert a new element in the DOM (the second select statement) like:
(provided you have jquery)
var secondSelect="your_html_here";
$("name='selectcourier'").change(function() {
if (this.val()=='Interlink') {
$('body').append(secondSelect); }
else {
$('#secondselectid').remove();
});
customise the html and where you want to append the second select
<script>
$(function(){
$('#s1').hide();
});
function call()
{
var check=$('#s2').val();
if(check=="Interlink")
{
$('#s1').show();
}
else
{
$('#s1').hide();
}
}
</script>
<select name="selectcourier" required onchange="call();" id="s2" >
<option value="">Please Select</option>
<option value="collection">Collection</option>
<option value="Interlink">Interlink</option>
<option value="DespatchBay">Despatch Bay</option>
<option value="International">International</option>
</select>
<label>Select Shipping Courier:</label>
<select name="selectcourier" required id="s1">
<option value="1">Please Select</option>
<option value="2">Next Day</option>
<option value="3">2-3 Day</option>
<option value="3">Pre 12</option>
</select>
You can use the above code to achieve your task
Just react on the event of changing the value of the first select.
If the value equals 'Interlink' display the second select - if the value is something else hide the second select.
<select name="selectcourier" required onchange="document.getElementById('interlink_addition').style.display = (this.value=='Interlink' ? 'block' : 'none')">
<option value="">Please Select</option>
<option value="collection">Collection</option>
<option value="Interlink">Interlink</option>
<option value="DespatchBay">Despatch Bay</option>
<option value="International">International</option>
</select>
<div id="interlink_addition" style="display:none">
<label>Select Shipping Courier:</label>
<select name="selectcourier" required>
<option value="1">Please Select</option>
<option value="2">Next Day</option>
<option value="3">2-3 Day</option>
<option value="3">Pre 12</option>
</select>
</div>
you can use ajax for this. write a ajax function to show second select box and call it on onChange event of the first select Box

On select loading options in a select box

I have a main drop down list which contains state names, when i select each state name i need to display the city names in a select box, but the select box name should be same because when i give different select box with same name the data is not storing in sql database. so i need to load the specific city names on each state select. any option
<option value="">Select your Location</option>
<option value="CHENNAI">CHENNAI</option>
<option value="GURGAON">GURGAON</option>
</select>
<select name="site">
<option value=""> Select Site </option>
<option value="City1"> City1</option>
<option value="City2"> City2</option>
<option value="City3"> City3</option>
<option value="City3"> City3</option>
</select>
<select name="site">
<option value=""> Select Site </option>
<option value="City1"> City1</option>
</select>
Demo
You can use prop('disabled', true / false); to manage which city to choose. You should not have 2 selects with same name, so because you need them in sql I made a fix for it. Notice also in your post you miss first <select> and "City 3" comes up 2 times.
html
<select name="state" id="sel_state">
<option value="">Select your Location</option>
<option value="CHENNAI">CHENNAI</option>
<option value="GURGAON">GURGAON</option>
</select>
<select name="site" id="CHENNAI">
<option value="">Select Site</option>
<option value="City1">City1</option>
<option value="City2">City2</option>
<option value="City3">City3</option>
<option value="City4">City3</option>
</select>
<select name="site" id="GURGAON">
<option value="">Select Site</option>
<option value="City1">City1</option>
</select>
jQuery
$(function () {
$("#sel_state").change(function () {
var a = $("#sel_state option:selected").text();
if (a == 'CHENNAI') {
$('#GURGAON').prop('disabled', true);
$('#CHENNAI').prop('disabled', false);
$('#GURGAON').prop('name', 'site_ignored');
$('#CHENNAI').prop('name', 'site');
}
if (a == 'GURGAON') {
$('#CHENNAI').prop('disabled', true);
$('#GURGAON').prop('disabled', false);
$('#GURGAON').prop('name', 'site');
$('#CHENNAI').prop('name', 'site_ignored');
}
});
});
