print from html form with JavaScript - javascript

I have this form:
name....
amount....
remaining....
[submit]
I am using the following code:
<form class="form-horizontal">
<fieldset>
<!-- Form Name -->
<legend>Form Name</legend>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="name">name</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="name" name="name" type="text" placeholder="name" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="amount">Amount</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="amount" name="amount" type="text" placeholder="$" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="Remaining">Remaining</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="Remaining" name="Remaining" type="text" placeholder="$" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Button -->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="singlebutton">Submit</label>
<div class="controls">
<button id="singlebutton" name="singlebutton" class="btn btn-primary">Submit</button>
</div>
</div>
</fieldset>
</form>
I expect the result like this:
customer (name) has submitted (20$). remaining amount is (30$)
How can I get this with out using PHP/CGI etc and only JavaScript. Preferably in a new window with a print button.

I removed "form" tag, because i assume we will use only client programming, so form submission is not needed. this script below may help you.
<fieldset>
<!-- Form Name -->
<legend>Form Name</legend>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="name">name</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="name" name="name" type="text" placeholder="name" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="amount">Amount</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="amount" name="amount" type="text" placeholder="$" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Text input-->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="Remaining">Remaining</label>
<div class="controls">
<input id="Remaining" name="Remaining" type="text" placeholder="$" class="input-xlarge">
</div>
</div>
<!-- Button -->
<div class="control-group">
<label class="control-label" for="singlebutton">Submit</label>
<div class="controls">
<button id="singlebutton" name="singlebutton" class="btn btn-primary" onclick="return submit();">Submit</button>

</fieldset>
<div id="info"></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
function submit()
{
var name = document.getElementById("name").value;
var amount = document.getElementById("amount").value;
var remaining = document.getElementById("Remaining").value;
document.getElementById("info").innerHTML = "customer ("+name+") has submitted ("+amount+"$). remaining amount is ("+remaining+"$)";
document.getElementsByTagName("fieldset")[0].style.display = 'none';
return false;
}
</script>

Try this may help you
<script>
var PrintMail = function () {

Adding new input fields using the button

I'm a novice at Laravel. How can I add new text input fields with the button and add data in each field separately? Add or plus button or whatever.
Below my code, which allows you to enter the sledge, but only in one field, in addition you have to separate the words with a comma.
<div class="card-body">
<form method="post" action="{{route('randomizeTeam.store')}}">
{{ csrf_field() }}
<div class="form-group">
<label for="players">Add player names</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="players">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="teams">Add team names</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="teams">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-info">Send</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
This is how you can do it in a simple way
$(function(){
var more_fields = `
<div class="form-group">
<label for="players">Add player name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="players[]">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="teams">Add team name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="teams[]">
</div>
`;
$('#add-more-field').on('click', (function (e) {
e.preventDefault();
$(".input-fields").append(more_fields);
}));
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<div class="card-body">
<form method="post" action="">
{{ csrf_field() }}
<div class="input-fields">
<div class="form-group">
<label for="players">Add player name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="players[]">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<label for="teams">Add team name</label>
<input type="text" class="form-control" name="teams[]">
</div>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button id="add-more-field" class="btn btn-secondary btn-sm">add more</button>
</div>
<div class="form-group">
<button type="submit" class="btn btn-info">Send</button>
</div>
</form>
</div>
And in your controller, you will do something like this
foreach($request->get('players') as $i => $player) {
YourModel::create([
'player' => $player,
'team' => $request->get('teams')[$i]
]);
}

cannot get data from a div

I have problem with getting data from a div tag. This is my div

var inputs = document.getElementById("log").getElementsByTagName("input");
var values = [];
for (i in inputs) {
values.push(inputs[i].value);
}
console.log(values);
you can use this JS code after click a button
if you want to get data from input tag
function myFunction() {
console.log(document.getElementById("myText").value)
}
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
Name: <input type="text" id="myText" value="">
<button onclick="myFunction()">Try it</button>
</body>
</html>
I think what you want to get is the whole information. In that case you need to use the
form
tag instead of div. Div doesn't have a meaning related to data. It is just a container displayed as block.
If You want to get the value of input fields, try to put this in your html:
<script>
const logYourLog = (e) => {
console.log('Here is your value', document.getElementById("banner_value").value);
}
</script>
If you want to get data from the form, and you are using jquery. There is function called serialize() already in there. But, if you are in plain javascript, I guess you should use library for easy purpose. You can also make your own function.
serialize library but I have not tested it. Just check if you get what you need.
You must be able to do sthg like this after you add that library:
var allData = serialize(document.getElementById("log"));
Note:- if allData is not stored, try changing div to form, that should do work.

Jquery Valid() function only apply on 1st element

I am intend to use javascript to submit the form. Before I want to submit the form, I need to validate my form.
The following is my code :
alert("OP Please edit me to add the validation script code, cdn link or something. Add code that triggers the validation.");
function validateForm1() {
$("#addMapForm").validate();
$('#addMapForm').valid();
console.log($('#addMapForm').valid());
}
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-validate/1.19.0/jquery.validate.min.js"></script>
<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/Admin/AddMap" method="post" id="addMapForm">
<div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Location Name *</label>
<input class="form-control" required />
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Unit/ Floor Number</label>
<input class="form-control" />
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Address*</label>
<textarea class="form-control" style="height:100px" required></textarea>

</div>
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Town/ City *</label>
<input class="form-control" required />
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">
<label>Zip Code*</label>
<input class="form-control" required/>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</form>
You are missing names on the inputs. A form will only submit named controls and validation plugin won't validate anything without a name
The required fields work fine once you add them
$("#addMapForm").validate();
$("#addMapForm").valid();
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.12.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery-validate/1.19.0/jquery.validate.min.js"></script>

<div class="col-md-12">
<div class="form-group">

</div>
</div>
<div class="col-md-12">

</div>
<button>Submit</button>
</form>
I assume you are using this: https://jqueryvalidation.org/validate/
Have you implemented the rules of validation for other elements?
rules (default: rules are read from markup (classes, attributes, data))
So either you have those defined in HTML or you need to define them inside validate function called before you called .valid().
Here is an examle:
$("#myform").validate({
rules: {
// simple rule, converted to {required:true}
name: "required",
// compound rule
email: {
required: true,
email: true
}
}
});
In short for more precise help we need all the relevant code or fiddle, plunker a demo showing the example of the problem you are facing.
Try this solution.
$('.form-control').each(function() {
$(this).validate();
$(this).valid();
}
I tried to use the following js to validate all my form, however i know the following code is not the best answer, it only able to show the error message on the first input element.
I am welcome to anyone to post better answer than this.
function validateForm() {
var result = true;
$("#addMapForm").each(function () {
$(this).find(':input').each(function () {
if ($(this).valid() == false) {
result = false;
return;
}
});
});
return result;
}
I gave your form inputs some name attributes. Not sure if you added the actual code to your page, so I did so here. I added a button to trigger just for a demo. I added the simplest bit of CSS.
$("#validateme").on('click', function() {
console.log("validating");
let Validator = $("#addMapForm").validate();
Validator.form();
console.log(Validator.valid());
});
.error { color:red}

I have added the required tag along with all input fields but upon click of 'Save' button, the error messages that show 'This field is required' is not shown. The function is not getting called though.
I need help in finding the cause of this issue.
Keep the novalidate in the <form> tag.
Try changing required to ng-required="true".
ng-required works with ng-model. So make sure that ng-model exists in your input tag. (additional info)
Try adding
<span style="color:red" ng-show="editReservationForm.inputFieldName.$invalid && editReservationForm.inputFieldName.$touched">
Required field.
</span>
where inputFieldName is the respective name attribute.
This adds for better effect although you'll need to import angular-animate.min.js and add it as a dependency too.

Create Repeated Fields in jQuery
