looking for some help on a dumb problem.
I have these functions:
function update_pred(){
var sum_pred = 0;
$('.pred').each(function(){
var importo_pred = this.value;
importo_pred = importo_pred.replace(",",".");
sum_pred += parseFloat(importo_pred);
$('#pred_tot').html(sum_pred);
});
}
function update_ipo(){
var sum_ipo = 0;
$('.ipo').each(function(){
var importo_ipo = this.value;
console.log(importo_ipo);
importo_ipo = importo_ipo.replace(",",".");
sum_ipo += parseFloat(importo_ipo);
console.log(sum_ipo);
$('#ipo_tot').html(sum_ipo);
});
}
These are supposed to update a table cell based on the values of some other field with a specific class.
If I call each of these functions from a change event in Jquery everything works fine.
What is not working is this:
$(document).ready(function(){
update_pred();
update_ipo();
});
I am not able to fire the two functions on page load. I load each value from mysql and I want to display the sums on load.
What do I miss?
Thanks for the help as usual!
Solved. The problem was related to this piece of code:
$('.ipo').each(function(){
$(this).change(function(){
update_ipo();
});
});
Turning it to the right form of:
$('.ipo').change(function(){ update_ipo(); });
did the trick.
This code was working by itself but was hanging all other javascript from working.

Im trying to figure out how to in wordpress display only first two comments and hide rest and add button that reveal all these hidden messages if needed. Pagination give me only two msg per page and thats not im looking for. Can someone give me an idea how I can this achieve or point me to articles about this?
Thanks
here is a plugin that should do the job: https://wordpress.org/plugins/comment-load-more/
It is a bit outdated (3 years ago) so you should check if the code is still valid and compatible.
In " Settings > Comment Load" you should be able to set the number of desired comments to show first.
Indeed, in this guide - http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-easily-lazy-load-comments-in-wordpress/ - you will find how to lazy load all comments. Probably, with some modification, you can adapt it to your need as well.
Cheers!
// This function hide comments if is there more than two and add show more button
function fds_comments () {
var commentWrap = document.getElementById('comment-list');
var commentChilderns = commentWrap.children;
for (var i = 2; i < commentChilderns.length; i++) {
commentChilderns[i].style.display = "none";
}
commentWrap.innerHTML = commentWrap.innerHTML + "<button id='more-comments' onclick='fds_all_comments()'type='button' >Show all comments</button>";
}
//This function reveal all comments (used on SHOW MORE btn)
function fds_all_comments(){
var commentWrap = document.getElementById('comment-list');
var commentChilderns = commentWrap.children;
for (var i = 0; i < commentChilderns.length; i++) {
commentChilderns[i].style.display = "block";
}
}
// problem: comments hidden after submit
// solved: This additional code reveal comments after SUBMIT
window.onload = function() {
var reloading = sessionStorage.getItem("reloading");
if (reloading) {
sessionStorage.removeItem("reloading");
fds_all_comments();
}
}
// function used on SUBMIT button
function fds_all_on_submit(){
sessionStorage.setItem("reloading", "true");
document.location.reload();
}
Is it possible to make javascript to when you enter variables to add code to html..? I don't know English too good, so..I'm going to draw it!
Also, I don't want it to change everything, but I want it just to add that
info to the list..I have premade HTML page with linked CSS.
If you have any questions, please ask me, just help me.. :(
I know HTML and CSS, java..Not even a little bit.. :/
If you are here reading this, THANK YOU! <3
You have many options to add html to your page through JavaScript.
1) Simply create a div with an id
<div id="enterTextHere"></div>
2) Inside of your custom.js file or inside of <script></script>, you can use many different methods
Method 1 : Using innerHTML
var desiredElement = document.getElementById("enterTextHere");
desiredElement.innerHTML = "<p>I added text!</p>";
Method 2 : Using JQuery.append
$("#enterTextHere").append("I added text!");
I'm sure there are many more but without your specific code to reference this is the best I can do. Please use this link for your reference. It also has a lot of good information for the rest of your HTML journey. Enjoy! w3schools
Maybe something like this can help:
HTML:
<table class="table"><tr id="update-table"></tr></table>
<script>
(function(){
var updater = (function(){
function updater( options ){
this.table = options.table;
this.cells = this.table.querySelectorAll('.cell');
this.num_cells = this.cells ? this.cells.length : 0;
}
updater.prototype.update_element = function( index, value ){
this.cells[index].innerHTML = value;
};
updater.prototype.add_element = function(){
var td = document.createElement('td');
td.setAttribute('class','cell');
this.table.appendChild(td);
this.cells.push(td);
this.num_cells++;
};
return updater;
})();
window.updater = updater;
})();
var table, a, count = 0;
table = document.getElementById('update-table');
a = new updater({table:table});
for(var i = 0; i < 5; ++i){
a.add_element();
a.update_element(i,'info'+i);
}
</script>
I have been able to make some progress on a program but am running into a problem that I can't quite figure out. In the script, when the text box loses focus it is supposed to update the total cost. At this point it retrieves the number from the html code, but it is not retrieving the number that is input.
function productCosts()
{
var totalMap = document.getElementById('qty1');
var quantity1 = parseFloat($("qty1").value);
var price1 = parseFloat($('price1').value);
var totalMapBlur = function()
{
var totalMapCost = $('cost1');
totalMapCost = (quantity1) * (price1);
alert(price1);
alert(quantity1);
alert(totalMapCost);
}
qty1.onblur = (totalMapBlur);
}
I have created a fiddle so that you can see all of the code. http://jsfiddle.net/KRFjd/1/
Any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. If you feel my question is not written well enough, please let me know how to improve, don't just review the question negatively. I am trying.
The problem is that you only set quantity1when you call productCosts() when the document is first loaded. You don't update it when the user edits the input field. And if you want the Cost column to be updated, you have to assign to its value.
var totalMapBlur = function()
{
var quantity1 = $('qty1').value;
var totalMapCost = (quantity1) * (price1);
alert(price1);
alert(quantity1);
alert(totalMapCost);
$('cost1').value = totalMapCost;
}
FIDDLE
This is the entire function I am working on:
function collapse(){
var i = 0;
var currColors = [];
var currTitles = [];
// Get the color and the course id of all the current courses
$('.course').each(function (){
if (rgb2hex($(this).css("background-color")) !== "#f9f9f9") {
currColors.push(rgb2hex($(this).css("background-color")));
currTitles.push($(this).children(".course-id").text());
$(this).children(".course-delete").remove();
$(this).children(".course-id").text("");
$(this).css('background', "#f9f9f9");
}
});
alert("made it");
// Redistribute the classes
// This is where reverse lookup will eventually happen
i = 0;
$('div.course').each(function (){
if (i>=currTitles.length){
return false;
}
$(this).children(".course-id").text(currTitles[i]);
$(this).css('background', currColors[i++]);
$(this).append("<button id='temp' class='course-delete'>X</button>");
});
var i = currColors.length-1;
};
And this is the problematic section
$('.course').each(function (){
if (rgb2hex($(this).css("background-color")) !== "#f9f9f9") {
currColors.push(rgb2hex($(this).css("background-color")));
currTitles.push($(this).children(".course-id").text());
$(this).children(".course-delete").remove();
$(this).children(".course-id").text("");
$(this).css('background', "#f9f9f9");
}
});
I have this function collapse that is supposed to fill in the blank spot in a list of divs that the user has been adding to the screen if they delete one. This function was working fine at one point, but obviously I have screwed it up some how.
There are only and always will be 6 '.course' items because that is the size of the list. When collapse() is called it stops running after n times where n is the number of '.course' elements currently in use. The loop stops there and the whole function stops there. I have tried putting alert() statements everywhere but still no luck. If someone spots what I am missing I would really appreciate it.
I have figured out a work around for now, but I would like to know why my entire function is crashing in the middle.
I have a function took on a tutorial, it works fine with one only element but I want to use it with some elements and I do not know enough about Javascript to do so.
This is my function :
var elements = document.getElementsByClassName('boules');
for (var i = 0; i < elements.length; i++) {
gameAccel(elements[i]);
}
function gameAccel(sphere) {
var x=20,y=300,vx=0,vy=0,ax=0,ay=0;
if(window.DeviceMotionEvent!=undefined){
window.ondevicemotion=function(e){
ax=event.accelerationIncludingGravity.x*3;
ay=event.accelerationIncludingGravity.y*3;
}
monInterval = setInterval(function(){
var landscapeOrientation=window.innerWidth/window.innerHeight>1;
if(landscapeOrientation){
vx=vx+ay;
vy=vy+ax;
}else{
vy=vy-ay;
vx=vx+ax;
}
vx=vx*0.98;
vy=vy*0.98;
y=parseInt(y+vy/50);
x=parseInt(x+vx/50);
boundingBoxCheck();
sphere.style.top=y+"px";
sphere.style.left=x+"px";
},25);
}
function boundingBoxCheck(){
if(x<0){x=0;vx=-vx;}
if(y<0){y=0;vy=-vy;}
if(x>document.documentElement.clientWidth-40){
x=document.documentElement.clientWidth-40;
vx=-vx;
}
if(y>document.documentElement.clientHeight-40){
y=document.documentElement.clientHeight-40;
vy=-vy;
}
}
}
I have one element with "boules" class, it works, if I have several elements with "boules" class it doesn't works.
This function is used on mobile device with gyroscope. (this is the basic example http://www.albertosarullo.com/demos/accelerometer/).
Someone can explain me why and how I can correct that ?
Thanks a lot.
You are overwriting window.ondevicemotion and monInterval every time you call the function. Only the last handler will be triggered. Instead, use addEventListener to attach multiple handlers and a local variable.
You have overwrites window.ondevicemotion handler in every loop. It must works only for last handler.
