I'm having difficulty with Magnific-popup and its AJAX. I want to simply switch the content of a popup if the link is also a popup. This should work by default, but somehow it doesn't.
JavaScript:
$('.magnific').magnificPopup({
type: 'ajax',
ajax: {
settings: null,
cursor: 'mfp-ajax-cur',
tError: 'The content could not be loaded.'
},
closeOnContentClick: false,
closeOnBgClick: true,
showCloseBtn: false,
mainClass: 'mfp-fade',
callbacks: {
parseAjax: function(mfpResponse) {
mfpResponse.data = $(mfpResponse.data).find('.overlay');
console.log('Ajax content loaded:', mfpResponse);
},
ajaxContentAdded: function() {
console.log(this.content);
}
}
});
This works with a link on the standard site. But if there is a link within the popup, it just executes that link, ignoring the Magnific Popup.
My best guess is, that it cant initiate itself because it cant find the selector (like if you use .click instead of .on('click'...)), but I don't seem to figure it out on my own.
Any help would be VERY! apprechiated!
EDIT: Ok I have identified the problem. It seems that the code in functions.js is not available at all within the limits of a popup. Is there a way to make the .js file available in the popup? The only way I made it work is by including the .js file in every file that has a magnific link... but that seems really dirty. Should I load it with the ajax callback or is there another way?
Best regards,
G

I am working on a normal bootstrap theme which contains js slider, popup, text-rotation, masonry boxes etc..
The theme contains all relevant js library and main.js
All of these will load new content via ajax on user specified actions.
Here is the js/ajax for text-rotation:
In the example below i have to call the "$('.text-rotation').owlCarousel" in order to make the text-rotation to work properly.
function getCon(type,id)
{
var postData = { id: id, type: type}
$.ajax({
url : 'getcontent.php',
type : 'post',
data : postData,
success : function( resp ) {
var cont = $('#cont', resp).html();
$('#conta').after(cont);
$('.text-rotation').owlCarousel({
loop: true,
dots: false,
nav: false,
margin: 10,
items: 1,
autoplay: true,
autoplayHoverPause: false,
autoplayTimeout: 3800,
animateOut: 'zoomOut',
animateIn: 'zoomIn'
});
}
});
}
When not calling "$('.text-rotation').owlCarousel" it simply displays the text in list format.
In order to make the all the ajax load content work properly on all section i.e the slider, popup, etc.. i'll have to find the relevant theme functions and code them all on the respective ajax functions.
Is there any predefined js code which i may call on ajaxComplete so tha all ajax content works normal as it works on page load ??
I tried to call the main.js from "getScript" function inside the ajax success but not working..
The short answer is: no.
jQuery code acts on the DOM that exists when the code is run; if you add to the DOM later on there isn't any general-purpose way for jQuery code to go back and act on the new elements as though they had been there in the first place.
Your options are
rewrite your code to not depend on event bindings / manipulation of the AJAX-based content -- instead use delegated event bindings on elements that are always present
defer your main code init until after all AJAX calls have completed, so the DOM is already in place when you add your bindings
Write specific code to add necessary event bindings / modify newly added DOM chunks individually, as they're loaded
I need to bind a function to initialize a js plugin after {Permalink} is clicked so Tumblr IPA "redirects" the browser to a new page, with the post details.
How can I do so? There's not so much documentation on how {Permalink} really works, whether it's ajax or whether it has some callback function (which I would appreciate).
Of course this would try to initialize before the "new" page is loaded. I think it's ajax though.
$("#{Permalink}").click(function() {
$('.jqzoom').jqzoom({
zoomType: 'standard',
lens:true,
preloadImages: false,
alwaysOn:false
});
});
{Permalink} renders a string that is the URL to the post: http://sample.tumblr.com/post/123
For reference, Tumblr theme operators don't have anything to do with javascript. They render mainly strings.
You need to bind the actual element that is clicked:
HTML
...
jQuery
$(".permalink").click(function() {
...
});

I'm trying to load an external file after the click of a button, modifying some html of the external file and then displaying it through the fancybox plugin.I have been trying for days now to do this and no success.
A button
<a id="preview" class="btn btn-lg btn-success">Preview</a>
Then some code to load the external html file into an element whose display is off (I know this is wrong, I don't know how else to do it). Then, I try to open this element with fancybox.
$('#preview').click(function() {
$('#loader').load("demo/external.html", function(page) {
$.fancybox.open({ content: $('loader'), type: iframe});
})
});
As you can tell, I'm an amateur at this. Any help would be really appreciated.
With more research I found that everything can be done through the Fancybox API. I used the beforeShow to modify what I wanted on the external page. $('.fancybox-iframe') was used to access the contents.
$.fancybox({
'href': 'demo/external.html',
'type': 'iframe',
'autoSize': true,
beforeShow: function () {
$('.fancybox-iframe').contents().find('#name').text(name);
}
});
I've hit a bit of a wall with this one. My jQuery knowledge outside of just implementation is pretty poor.
I'm building the Magnific Popup (http://dimsemenov.com/plugins/magnific-popup/) jQuery plugin into my WordPress theme as a popup gallery. I've got it all wired up and working. It grabs images dynamically from the backend using custom fields. I can also get multiple instances working on the same page. HOWEVER, when scrolling through images in one popup gallery, it wont end at the end of the first gallery but rather, it will move on into the images in the second gallery. See example: http://www.oftenvisual.com/reset/galleries/.
Unfortunately I can't post the code here as it's too long, but hopefully the demo page helps. Because the galleries are generated dynamically and the client using the backend wont have the knowledge to add container with different classes, I need some way to also dynamically separate out the galleries. Any idea GREATLY appreciated!
Script calling the plugin
// Magnific
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.popup-gallery').magnificPopup({
delegate: 'a',
type: 'image',
tLoading: 'Loading image #%curr%...',
mainClass: 'mfp-img-mobile',
gallery: {
enabled: true,
navigateByImgClick: true,
preload: [0,1] // Will preload 0 - before current, and 1 after the current image
},
image: {
tError: 'The image #%curr% could not be loaded.',
titleSrc: function(item) {
return item.el.attr('title');
}
}
});
});
try to set different id_s on your .popup-gallery div's and then do
$('#popup-gallery1').magnificPopup....
$('#popup-gallery2').magnificPopup....
You may use jQuery contains selector to point "a" tag with specific class name - a[class*='popup-gallery-']. If you have different IDs for you pop-ups it just work as a charm. It just search for all "a" where class contains "popup-gallery-".
And if it matches, it fires up the Magnific Pop Up etc.
jQuery:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("a[class*='popup-gallery-']").magnificPopup({
//your settings goes here
});
});
HTML:
# first div
<a class="popup-gallery-1" href="#popup-1">First popup</a>
<div id="popup-1"> Your content here </div>
# second div
<a class="popup-gallery-2" href="#popup-2">Second popup</a>
<div id="popup-2"> Your content here </div>
You can simply use jquery's each with the same class, for example:
$('.popup-gallery').each(function() {
$(this).magnificPopup({
delegate: 'a', // child items selector, by clicking on it popup will open
type: 'image', // override with class 'mfp-iframe' on delegate or any other supported type
gallery: {enabled:true },
});
});
And now if you have multiple .popup-gallery divs, they all work separately.
is it possible using fancybox to post a var to the iframe when opens?
I currently have:
function fancyBoxLoad(element) {
var elementToEdit = $("#" + $(element).attr("class"));
var content = encodeURIComponent($(elementToEdit).outerHTML());
$.fancybox(
{ 'href': 'loadEditor.php' },
{
frameWidth: 750,
frameHeight: 430,
overlayShow: true,
ajax: {
type: "POST",
data: 'content=' + content
},
type: 'iframe'
}
);
}
It does seem that if I take away type: 'iframe' it will post data but it doesn't appear to be in the iframe and if I take away ajax: { type: "POST", data: 'content=' + content } instead it will open in an iframe but not post the data (the example above does the same)
So my question being can it be done?
If you're simply trying to put content in a iframe, why don't you use fancybox to create the iframe, and once you know it's been created, then access it via the reference that fancybox returns to you and set your content that way. I'm not sure you want to send the content to the server and back. Just wait for the iframe to load, then on ready, query an element within it and set the content.
Looking at the source for Fancybox v1.3.1 they are in fact mutually exclusive. If you don't feel comfortable diving into the source code and editing the plugin, you might try using GET variables in your HREF as a work around. It should effectively work like a post as it is an AJAX call, just make sure the backend can receive the GET variables.
