I'm trying to add separate scrollers for date and time pickers with mobiscroll but for some reason i can only get the first scroller to work.
HTML:
<div id="set_call_div">
<label>
<span>Date:</span>
<input id="date_scroller" name="date">
</label>
<br>
<label>
<span>Time:</span>
<input id="time_scroller" name="time">
</label>
</div>
JS:
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#date_scroller").mobiscroll().date();
$("#time_scroller").mobiscroll().time();
});
The first one responds and opens, The second one doesn't respond at all.
Any ideas?
That is exactly how it is supposed to be initialized, and it should be working...
Check the console for JS errors.
Try a simple page holding just the two textboxes and minimal scripts for init

I have this checkbox input that I want it to call a function when its clicked
<div class="checkbox theme-search-results-sidebar-section-checkbox-list-item">
<label class="icheck-label">
<input class="icheck" type="checkbox" onclick="system()">
<span class="icheck-title" >
system is good
</span>
</label>
</div>
I tried different methods the only way that I got it to work was by using the onclick on the span but that would not work if the box gets checked!
Can anyone help me with this?
I can't change the layout because I have a fixed HTML that is like this for a lot of checkboxes.
This appears to be working the way you describe it with a simple "system()" function. The problem may be in your system() function.
function system(){
console.log("inside system")
}
<div class="checkbox theme-search-results-sidebar-section-checkbox-list-item">
<label class="icheck-label">
<input class="icheck" type="checkbox" onclick="system()">
<span class="icheck-title" >
system is good
</span>
</label>
</div>
Try this. First select the check box in JavaScript:
const $checkbox = document.querySelector('.icheck');
Then add a click event listener to it:
$checkbox.addEventListener('click', system);
This will run system when it is clicked.
Did lots of searching on here and found plenty of people with similar questions, but every 'solution' I have found fails to work in my case. I could be missing something simple, or it may have to do with our HTML. Basically, I want our text field to check it's corresponding radio button should someone enter a value there.
Here is a JSFiddle with what I want working, but when I put host it on a server for testing I don't get the same result.
JSFiddle
http://jsfiddle.net/p8kvQ/39/
HTML
<div>
<input type="radio" name="UnitPrice1" id="UnitPrice1" value="47" checked="checked" />
<label for="UnitPrice1">$47</label>
</div>
<div>
<input type="radio" name="UnitPrice1" id="UnitPrice2" value="Other" />
<label for="UnitPrice2">Other</label>
<input class="-input-width-auto" name="Other1" type="number" id="Other1" />
</div>
JS
$('#Other1').click(function(){
$('#UnitPrice2').trigger('click');
});
I DO have "http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.2/jquery.min.js" defined in our HTML header and I've tried adding the code by defining its source file, but still no luck.
Any help would be great.
Your JS needs to be inside a document.ready. When the code is run, the dom element is not available, there for your click listener can not be attached it it.
$( document ).ready(function() {
$('#Other1').click(function(){
$('#UnitPrice2').trigger('click');
});
});
(JSFiddle does this for you because you have the following setting: http://screencast.com/t/5WUC33diHpTb)
I have been using a datepicker js class known as tcal. After you link to the class on your server, you can call it with one line of code.
in header
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="tcal.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="tcal.js"></script>
html
Pick date: <input type="text" size=8 name="eventdate" class="tcal" value=>
It has been working fine.
However, to streamline a page, I am now trying to take it out of the html and display it in a div only when a user clicks on it using getElementById. while I can display the input box ok, when written to the browser this way, the class no longer seems to work.
js
function pickDate() {
document.getElementById('show').innerHTML = 'Pick date: <input type="text" size=8 name="eventdate" class="tcal" value=>';
}
html
Pick Date<div id="show"></div>
When user clicks, input box appears. However, datepicker calendar does not pop up when you click in tox. Does anyone know why tcal is not working when written to browser this way?
Thanks for any suggestions.
the reason for this happening is that you are adding input box in the dom later your datepicker code is initialized just reinitialize datepicker code
as i see your library may don't have a code to initialize is seperately you can do hide and show instead of adding into the dom later, if the text box will be available in the starting of page ready it will be initialized so use the following code
html -
<div id="something" style="display:none;">Pick date: <input type="text" size=8 name="eventdate" class="tcal" value=></div>
js -
document.getElementById('something').style.display="block";
Wondering how to approach this... Best to look at the picture to visualize the, hopeful, UI for a form for choosing options in a list. Users need to be able to make a first choice and a second choice for each option. One and only one can be selected in each column, and for that matter, each row.
At first I thought, naturally, 2 radio button groups might work...but not sure how? Perhaps hidden radio_buttons whose values are manipulated via Javascript/JQuery in a click event on each div? Event should also check/handle "collisions" when user tries to select same option for both choices.
Or, would this perhaps be better with two hidden collection_selects...or even simpler, just two hidden text_fields...which javascript can populate with the ID of the selected option?
Or maybe I'm overlooking something more obvious.
I'm new(ish) to javascripting with Rails so looking for advice/validation.
Thanks.
I think something like this is what your looking for:
HTML:
<form>
<p class="exclusiveSelection">
Selection One
<input type="radio" name="firstColumn"/>
<input type="radio" name="secondColumn"/>
</p>
<p class="exclusiveSelection">
Selection Two
<input type="radio" name="firstColumn"/>
<input type="radio" name="secondColumn"/>
</p>
<p class="exclusiveSelection">
Selection Three
<input type="radio" name="firstColumn"/>
<input type="radio" name="secondColumn"/>
</p>
<input type="button" id="submitForm" value="Submit">
</form>
JavaScript:
$(function() {
$(".exclusiveSelection input[type='radio']").click(function() {
$exclusiveSelection = $(this).parent();
$('input[type='radio']', $exclusiveSelection).attr('checked', false);
$(this).attr('checked', true);
});
});
It ensures that the values are unique across column and row and works with jQuery 1.2.6 - 1.7.1. There is also a JSFiddle example.
If you need help adapting this for Rails let me know, however it should be straight forward.
I'm struggling to find a solution for this anywhere on Google, maybe i'm searching incorrectly but thought I would come and ask the ever trustworthy members of StackOverflow.
I'm wanting to use an html button to check an html check box. There reason I don't want to use the check box will be purely for accessibility reasons because the application i'm developing will be on a terminal and used as via a touch-screen so an HTML check box is too small.
The only issue is that the list of check box's is dynamic as it is populated using an SQL query. Obviously however I can do the same for creating HTML buttons.
Im guessing it will require JavaScript (which I'm perfectly happy using now as I'm finding a lot of the functionality I need in this application needs JavaScript) to do this functionality.
So to clarify: I want to click on a button, say it has a value of "Fin Rot" and that checks the check box with the value "Fin Rot". And then if I clicked another button, say it has a value of "Ich" then it also checks the check box with the value "Ich"
While you can use a button and JavaScript for this, might I suggest a much simpler approach? Just use a <label> that's designed just for this, and style it like a button, for example:
<input type="checkbox" id="finRot" name="something" value="Fin Rot">
<label for="finRot">Some text here, could be "Fin Rot"</label>
or (if you don't want to use id on checkbox and for on label):
<label>
<input type="checkbox" name="something" value="Fin Rot">
Some text here, could be "Fin Rot"
</label>
....then with CSS you can hide the checkbox if needed, but either are clickable to toggle the checkbox.
You can test out a demo here, also showing some button-ish CSS on the label if needed.
This example uses a button to toggle the checkbox on/off.
http://jsfiddle.net/DnEL3/
<input type="checkbox" id="finRot" name="something" value="Fin Rot">
<button onclick="document.getElementById('finRot').checked=!document.getElementById('finRot').checked;">Fin Rot</button>
How about a HTML solution.
<p><input type="checkbox"
value="Another check box"
name="cboxwithlabel" id="idbox"><label
for="idbox">Another
checkbox</label></p>
<label> Creates label for the checkbox or radio buttons.
If you are looking for bootstrap solution, I just created this:
<link href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.min.css" rel="stylesheet" />
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-md-6">
<!-- Here starts the component -->
<label class="input-group">
<span class="input-group-addon">
<input type="checkbox">
</span>
<span class="form-control btn btn-primary">
Click to toggle checkbox
</span>
</label>
<!-- Here ends the component -->
</div>
</div>
</div>
