Chrome 28 App, getUserMedia PERMISSION_DENIED - javascript

I'm facing an issue with chrome 28.
I build an application that use the webcam to take picture.
I had no problem with it, but since I upgrade to chrome 28, my application is not working anymore (I'm getting an error with the getUserMedia function).
Here is the message : {"constraintName":"","message":"","name":"PERMISSION_DENIED"}.
If I try to run the app code on a simple html and httpserver, I got no problem with it.
And when using the APP I'm not asked anymore if I allow the usage of the webcam.
I've tried to turn on some chrome flags for webrtc but nothing change.
Does anybody has/had this issue ?
Thanks !

You may have accidentally denied access to the webcam in the past. If your site is being served via HTTPS, that setting will be saved. This page has a description of that error and a screenshot that shows what the settings should look like.

Once you have tried all the above:
Make sure that there is no other program or browser tab accessing the camera.
If you are on Android, open a camera App to make sure that the it's not stuck (it happens to me all the time with Cyanogen).
What the browser is reporting is that a media source is missing (might be permissions, config or harware). More info here: http://webrtchacks.com/getusermedia/

Once you have made sure that the site is not blocked in Privacy content settings, Goto chrome://flags/#enable-permissions-bubbles in Chrome and ENable these . Now the notification will appear asking for permission to access the web cam , just click allow .

PostHog | Brave Browser Event Tracking Issue

we have implemented Posthog with React and tested the implementation, which is working fine on Chrome and Firefox. But when we are testing it on Brave/Microsoft Edge Browsers it is not working.
We have done some research on this, which says these browsers have default ad blocker feature enabled and I need to manually disable ad blocking.
For resolving Brave browser tracking issue, we have created self hosted cloud front distribution and pass cloud front url in api_host parameter inside posthog.init function but it's not working and I am getting authentication issue. Could you please guide me for the same ?
I have used posthog-js in my react app for tracking events. Everything is working properly on chrome browser but my custom events are not getting triggered on brave browser.
Here is console logs error, please have a look to attached screenshot
The errors in the screenshot are the Brave browser doing its thing and blocking third-party scripts. You can check this using "shields" https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022806212-How-do-I-use-Shields-while-browsing-
I'd recommend you set up a reverse proxy so that traffic to PostHog travels to your own domain. So you would have something like https://my-own-domain.com/e
see https://posthog.com/docs/integrate/proxy
(as in the comment thread above. full disclosure I'm an engineer at PostHog)

Failed to load page. Unsupported URL

I have a link on my web page that links the user to a certain application in App Store. But when the user clicks on that link, the browser throws an error saying "Failed to load page. Unsupported URL" I have tested this on various iOS device and this problem is observed on iOS devices that came out before iPhone 7. Here is the link to the application : https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/bounce-mobile/id1346771528 I am not able to find out what's causing this and how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Still missing some of the details, but looking at your URL, it seems somewhat non-standard. I would use the Apple-recommended URL format of https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1346771528
Other than that, I would make sure you do not have the App Store disabled on the devices through something like mobile device management (MDM). Make sure you see an App Store icon on those devices and can open it.
In addition, I would plug the device into your Mac while trying to click on the link and use Safari debugging to see if you get more information - more details here.

Chrome geolocation stopped working after an update

I have recently updated my desktop chrome and mobile android chrome.
Since that I have trouble getting my location. It doesn't work with my website JS geolocation script nor here:
http://html5demos.com/geo
It just says failed. I have tried removing location access privilege and changing to ask but it doesn't work.. Any idea what is the reason for that.
You will need to have WAMP accept requests on port 443 and create a certificate in order for the browsers to not complain. There are detailed instructions here: http://www.lmhproductions.com/31/how-to-setup-ssl-on-wamp/

Can I embed a chrome extension app as part of my main AngularJS app?

I have been doing a lot of reading and studying to figure out.
I basically just want my main AngularJS application to run, but also include an embedded Chrome Extension app - in this case, have regularly scheduled alarms (using the chrome.alarm API).
I want all users of my AngularJS app to have automatic access to the Chrome extension app, embedded in the main clientside one with lots of other Angular features.
It seems like I have to manually enable my Chrome app in Developer mode on my browser and even drag my Chrome app specifically to a location in my Chrome browser. I don't understand how end users can just automatically use my Chrome app then.
I need to add here I have never really used jQuery, only AngularJS but AngularJS extensively. My AngularJS app is the frontend, the backend is provided by Rails.
Some advice would be really helpful. I hope I am not downvoted as it is strange how sometimes questions get downvoted and I am not sure why...I don't really know where else to go with this question.
EDIT:
Ok some code to demonstrate:
myangularapp.controller('myappcontroller', function($scope, $http) {
var delayvar = 5;
chrome.alarms.create("arandomalarm", {delay: delayvar});
};
This doesn't just work as part of my AngularJS, I tried creating a manifest.json file in the app/assets folder too. As well as a background.js file there and my-chrome-app.js file. "chrome.alarms" is undefined, but I haven't enabled Developer mode yet. But still, how are end users supposed to use it if just to make me use it I need to do so much specific browser configuration?
You should have a look at Content Scripts and then at Message Passing which explains you how to communicate between a web page and an Chrome extension.
its not possible to automatically install a chrome extension. the user must install it from the chrome store.
you may make it easier for them to install it by providing an inline installation from your webpage. its in the official documentation and you can see an example on this page with the "add to chrome" button:
http://plusfortrello.com (one of my chrome extensions which has inline installation inside that page).
that example button is further customized to display a message instead if the user is not on chrome desktop.
if your extension also has permission to your webpage then you can also detect from your webpage if the extension is already install it (to hide the button, send messages to it and such).

How do I get microphone access in Google Chrome through getUserMedia?

I've tried many different types of Javascript code, and I've changed my microphone settings in Windows and in Chrome's settings, and nothing has worked. I've tried enabling "Web Audio Input" in chrome://flags but nothing works, at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? Camera access works and I can easily do HTML5 camera manipulation but any microphone tasks don't work.
The following JSFiddle doesn't work on my browser: http://jsfiddle.net/BWYu9/3/
Give it a shot in the Canary build of Chrome. I think the ability to do this with an audio stream is pretty new - although for some reason I can't find a link to the Chromium issue.
You can try with Chrome Canary or perform the following steps:
open google.com
speak on microphone
if the answer is "cannot recognize speech it might be that your microphone is not recognized. (this will help to identify the source of the problem)
See the following link for this issue:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=226327
I have found that many different problems can accrue with the microphone in the Google search window of chrome. The main problem I have found to be the most upsetting is after a Java up date I find it not working, but everything appears to be working fine with all my audio settings. My microphone levels are good in sound properties a for Google voice and video chat. but in the search bar of Google chrome the thing is still not working to solve the problem I discovered that resetting my Integrated Microphone Array to default had been canceled and after resitting it again to default this go the microphone to work.
