How do I setup a jQuery DatePicker with a formatted date? - javascript

So when a date is picked it shows up month/day/ format, but I want it to be day/month/year
I tried this but it does not work:
$.datepicker.formatDate( "dd-mm-yy");
Also Would it be possible to have a dropdown of years or an extra over arrow for years as well as months?
I haved look through the documentation and api but am lost as to where to put the code? in the soucre or in the html?
My example is located here Then click the create new user button.

You add this to the settings when initializing a datepicker :
$( ".datepicker" ).datepicker({
changeYear: true, //enabled drop down for year
dateFormat: "dd-mm-yy" //changes the format
});

jQuery UI Datepicker - Month and Year Dropdown

I have the following Datepicker on my website.
As you can see from the example they have, it only goes as back as 2006 and as forward as 2026 on the year. I need the year to go back a lot further, how would I accomplish this?
Here is my code:
<script>
$(function() {
$("#passenger_dob").datepicker({ changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, dateFormat: "dd/mm/yy" }).val()
});
</script>
Use the yearRange option to set the years you want do display:
$("#passenger_dob").datepicker({
changeMonth: true,
changeYear: true,
dateFormat: "dd/mm/yy",
yearRange: "-90:+00"
});
the yearRange options can be hard-coded, or, as in my example, a range can be used relative to the current date. The options I've used mean "earliest year displayed is 90 years before current year" and "maximum year displayed is equal to current year".
N.B. As noted in the docs, this merely affects the options displayed in the dropdown by default, it doesn't place any restriction on the dates which the user can actually enter/select.
See http://api.jqueryui.com/datepicker/#option-yearRange for more details.

Customize the jquery Datepicker

What plugin are you trying to use. If it is this plugin found in this site. then all you need to do is set the change month and changeyear to true.
$(function() {
$("YOURSELECTOR" ).datepicker({
changeMonth: true,
changeYear: true
});
});
the documentation for the api can be found here.

You can check it by using jquery-ui-datetimepicker-plugin
$('#startDate, #endDate')
.datetimepicker({ dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd', timeFormat: 'hh:mm:ss' });
I have followed this
but did not work and working one is
$("#startDate, #endDate").datetimepicker({ dateFormat: 'dd-mm-yy hh:mm:ss'});

datepicker widget is not showing year in downward sort

How to display hours in JQuery datapicker

I want to use simple JQuery datapicker but not only to select the date. I want to add hours to the date format but I also want to preserver the classic vie of the calendar. I just want to add hours as extra functionality to define precisely the time. Is this possible?
<script type="text/javascript">
//For calendar
$(".datepicker").datepicker({
inline: true,
showWeek: true,
firstDay: 1,
dateFormat: 'yyyy-mm-dd HH:MM:ss',
});
</script>
http://trentrichardson.com/examples/timepicker/
you can try the above plugin with the combination of datepicker
you can even use the default $('.datepicker').datetimepicker();
jQuery UI's datepicker picks dates, not times. You can add a distinct field for the hours, e.g. a select field.
