I have downloaded a Tree View Code and it is working fine. The code is in this way :
d = new dTree('d');
d.add(0,-1,'StratApps');
d.add(1,0,'First Folder','example.html');
d.add(2,1,'Packages','example1.html');
d.add(3,2,'Pkg_Load_Dim','example2.html');
d.add(4,2,'Pkg_Write_to_File','#');
d.add(5,1,'Interfaces','#');
d.add(6,5,'Int_Load_Order_Dim','#');
d.add(7,5,'Int_Load_Channel_Dim','#');
d.add(8,1,'Procedures','#');
d.add(9,8,'Proc_Update_Order','#');
d.add(10,8,'Proc_Process_Errors','#');
document.write(d);
Now I want to give the links to open respective Divs in the right-side. Can anyone help me in this regard...
You could try something along these lines:
$('.dtree a.node').prop('onclick', '').click(function(e) {
var href = $(this).prop('href');
$('#divOnRightSide').load(href);
e.preventDefault();
});
Basically, what you say is: for every node (i.e. link) there is in every dtree on the page, remove the onClick-event directly from the HTML and add a click event handler.
In this handler, get the href-attr, and load the content of that link into the div with id="divOnRightSide".
Then, so no page navigation is triggered, use e.preventDefault().
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Here is a jsFiddle to demonstrate the purpose: jsFiddle.

I have GA on my website and i'm trying to track every click on the website. The following JavaScript must be used, it acts like an overlay on the page:
<script type="text/javascript">
var tile = new HTMLLiveTile.TileController();
window.onmousedown = function() {
tile.openStoreProduct("var1", "var2", "var3");
}
</script>
What would be the HTML equivalent code to track this?
Right now i have:
<a id="tile" onClick="ga('send', 'event', 'click1', 'click2', 'sample');"><img src="./images/image.png"> </a>
I'm very new to this, sorry if it's redundant. My assumption was to track the variable and add it to the onClick.
I guess you are asking for a solution that does not require much hassle and much changing in code and moreover without any need to change your previous code.
you can use event.target.+ things you need to know to get info.
function mouseTrack(){
var element_name = event.target.tagName;
alert("mouse click was detecteted at: "+ element_name);
}
window.addEventListener('click', mouseTrack(), false);
this code will alert the Tag Name of Element clicked (like DIV, a, SPAN etc you know the list.). But this code is awful.It wont work in Mozilla FF, It wont work In IE 9 below. I took some time to create a fiddle on JSFiddle.net you can view example I made Here
Javascript novice here. I am working on a piece of code provided here - http://codepen.io/mariusbalaj/pen/beALH/
I'm trying to modify the behavior so that instead of just zooming in the list element when clicked, it should load a different html page within the animated frame.
$(document).ready(function() {
var $box = $('.box');
$('.metro li').each(function() {
var color = $(this).css('backgroundColor');
var content = $(this).html();
$(this).click(function() {
$box.css('backgroundColor', color);
$box.addClass('open');
$box.find('p').html(content);
});
$('.close').click(function() {
$box.removeClass('open');
$box.css('backgroundColor', 'transparent');
});
});
});
Can anyone point me to the right direction?
Update 1 :
I figured out that modifying the 'content' variable on the below line would change the content of the animated frame:
` $box.find('p').html(content);`
And if I change it to something like:
` $box.find('p').html('<h1>Test Page</h1>');`
It works as expected. However, I want the content to be different for each list element.
Is there an easy way of doing this per element? I am quite confused with the 'this' keyword.
You may be looking for this answer, if you want to open another HTML page:
how to change page from within javascript
If you're trying to open it WITHIN the animated frame, you should look into making some requests to the content of the new page/tile and filling that with content, which is answered here: How to get the response of XMLHttpRequest?
It all depends what you want to do, let us know :)
here's the structure of the code: http://jsfiddle.net/ss1ef7sq/
although it's not really working at js fiddle but the code itself is working as i've tested it locally through firefox.
this is where i've based this on: http://html.net/tutorials/javascript/lesson21.php
jquery/ajax:
$('#ep-101').click(function(){$('.main-container').load('link.html #ep101').hide().fadeIn(800);});
$('#ep-102').click(function(){$('.main-container').load('link.html #ep102').hide().fadeIn(800);});
$('#ep-103').click(function(){$('.main-container').load('link.html #ep103').hide().fadeIn(800);});
$('#ep-104').click(function(){$('.main-container').load('link.html #ep104').hide().fadeIn(800);});
$('#ep-105').click(function(){$('.main-container').load('link.html #ep105').hide().fadeIn(800);});
so my question is, is there a way to make it like a shorter code where it can just get the value of those #10ns or assuming that there will be a different page with it's own nest of unique ids without typing them individually? there's still a lot i don't understand with ajax so i'd appreciate it if anyone can help & explain at least the gist of it as well.
i've looked around online but i'm really stuck. i also at least found out that it's possible to add transitions but the way it's coded there is that it will only have the transition for the incoming page & not the one that will be replaced. i also have a prob with page loaders effects but i'll save it for when i'm stuck there as well.
thanks in advance. =)
Use classes instead of id's. Set href attribute which you want to load on click and access it via $(this).attr('href').
<a class="load-me" href="link1.html">link 1</a>
<a class="load-me" href="link2.html">link 2</a>
...
Script:
$('.load-me').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
$('.main-container').hide().load($(this).attr('href'), function() {
// ...
$(this).fadeIn(800);
})
});
JSFiddle
If you need the load to wait container hiding animation, you could make it other way.
$('.load-me').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
// get the url from clicked anchor tag
var url = $(this).attr('href');
// fade out the container and wait for animation complete
$('.main-container').fadeOut(200, /* animation complete callback: */ function(){
// container is hidden, load content:
$(this).load(url, /* load complete callback: */ function() {
// content is loaded, show container up
$(this).slideDown(200);
});
});
});
JSFiddle
As a way of learning CasperJS, I am trying to initiate a click event on a div on a remote page, and then change the class name of the div after I have clicked it. The idea is to find the first clickable div, click it, and then mark it as clicked so I can skip over it to other clickable divs. The markup for the div tag on the remote page looks like:
<div class='clickable_div'></div>
I have tried the following casperjs code:
...
casper.then(function() {
if( this.exists( 'div.clickable_div' ) ) {
this.evaluate(function() {
this.click(document.querySelector('div.clickable_div'));
return document.querySelector('div.clickable_div').setAttribute("className","clicked");
});
}
});
...
It doesn't seem to work. First, I don't think I am initiating the mouse click event on the div correctly. What am I missing? Second, when I fetch the updated html, I don't see any changes in the div's class name. Am I going about this step in the wrong way?
You're calling this.click within evaluate(), it just can't work as evaluate() executes code within the page DOM context where there's probably no window.click method.
Here's a possibly working script:
var linkSelector = 'div.clickable_div';
casper.then(function() {
if (!this.exists(linkSelector)) return;
this.click(linkSelector);
this.evaluate(function(linkSelector) {
__utils__.findOne(linkSelector).setAttribute("className", "clicked");
}, linkSelector);
});
You may want to have better handling of errors and edge cases, but you get the idea.
This is my code posted in a jsfiddle Demo.
As you can see when you click on the
Hyderabad.
Visakhapatnam.
Then a Horizontal Image slider is shown ( YOu can slide throgh the Pictures )
Now my requirement is I need to also show the Image slider on body load itself also
I have tried using body onload function to show the div , and also in Jquery ready function , and by commenting all the hide() functions in javascript , but none of them really worked .
Could anybody please tell me what is the way to do this .
I just tested it.. first I thought that you should just do this:
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
$fp_galleries.first().click();
});
but poorly this will only show the first image and not all images.
I don't know why but it looks like you should do this.
$(window).load(function() {
/* your code */
$fp_galleries.first().click();
});
Maybe because you need to wait until the images are loaded.
perhaps use document on ready to call the function: http://api.jquery.com/ready/
$(document).ready(function() {
openGallery(galleryname){
})
;
The problem is not that it is hidden, its rather that the content are only generated by som javascript when the user clicks one of your links.
You could add something like
$("li",$fp_galleries).first().click()
at the bottom of your script.
This will trigger the click event on one of the links.
