jQuery, How do I format a JSON request with authorization?

I'm new to JSON requests, cURL, etc. and I can't figure out how to correctly format a JSON request with authorization. I'm trying to call on a Spotify API and they reccomend a cURL request:
GET https://api.spotify.com/v1/search
and
curl -X "GET" "https://api.spotify.com/v1/search?q=tania%20bowra&type=artist" -H "Accept: application/json" -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "Authorization: Bearer ReallyLongKey"
I don't know how to use cURL and GET so I tried to use ajax:

converting curl query in jquery ajax request

I have a curl command for getting json data and I want to send this request from javascript program. Please anybody can tell how to convert this curl command into jquery ajax request.
Command:

cURL -H parameters add extra headers to the request.
jQuery.ajax have an option headers, this is a Plain JavaScript Object with the pair name/value for each header.
Then, your cURL request will translate in something like this:

Using Netbanx API

I'm trying to use the Netbanx API and i always get {"error":{"code":401,"message":"Not authorised"}} I dont know what I am doing wrong.

I verified your code in and receive 401 as well.

I used DHC chrome plugin for one more check - it works as well. SO I am pretty sure there is Cross Domain problem with your JavaScript example. Netbanx just does not allow to do Cross Domain request to API.

Normally in these situations the issue is how the key is encoded. it is posisble that when copying and pasting there are spaces at the beginning or end. The credentials do look valid.

REST call Javascript

How do I make a call to a REST Api with Javascript (or ajax or jquery)?

This code does not work [not sure why]. Also, 'https://this.is.my/url' is just short for the longer url, which I don't want to post online

No need to add escaping to your data element... you can send a whole object and jQuery will take care of it for you.

How to Debug ajax REST calls (in general)

I have an cURL call that works and I have converted it to an ajax call. The ajax call is failing. How do I get something to return from the call? There should be a dictionary [cURL call returns a dictionary].
How do I know what is failing in my call? I don't know how to proceed in debugging it.

I keep getting 'fail' responses

If you type F12 it will open up chrome dev tools, then click on the network tab.
You will see all requests, including ajax requests as they happen. You can click on the line item "name" field for full info about the request and response, similar to cURL verbose mode

You can use Firefox with firebug to get the exact error message.Else do like this
