YUI3 module change attribute after construction - javascript

I am building a YUI3 module for my workplace. I construct it like so:
var testMenu1 = new Y.ContextMenu({
id: 'testmenu1',
menuItems: {
opsdb: {
title: 'empty',
type: 'opsdb',
separator: false,
action: function(e, host) {
iframe_panel_opsdb(host);
}
}
}
});
I'd like to come in later and change the title based on the hostname I right click on. How can I do that given that testMenu1 does now exist. I can do something like testMenu1.set('id', 'newId') but menuItems.opsdb.title, I cannot figure out how to change that one.

You can access nested attributes with dot notation.
Then the following should do what you want, if menuitems is an attributes. (I do not know the details of ContextMenu).
testMenu1.set('menuitems.opsdb.title', 'myNewTitle');

How to loop through a list of components in VueJS

I may have gone about this completely the wrong way from the beginning so all advise is welcomed.
I am trying to create a basic page with inputs on the right and hints for the inputs on the left and when you focus on the inputs the appropriate hint is highlighted on the left.
There is a JSFiddle here: https://jsfiddle.net/eywraw8t/210693/
This will not work as I do not know how to find the appropriate hint to highlight (and set isHighlighted to false on all the other hints).
I managed to get a working example by adding a highlighted prop on the field object and not using a hint component. However in reality the fields data will come from the database so it won't have a highlighted parameter so a hint component seemed more sensible.
To put my question in simple terms: How can I find the relevant hint component when focused on an input?
JS Fiddle showing functionality without a component: https://jsfiddle.net/as2vxy79/
Broken JS Fiddle trying to use a component: https://jsfiddle.net/eywraw8t/210693/
Here is the JS outside JS Fiddle:
Vue.component('hint', {
template: `
<div class="hint" :class="{'highlight-hint': isHighlighted }">
<slot></slot>
</div>
`,
data() {
return {
isHighlighted: false
}
}
});
new Vue({
el: "#app",
data: {
fields: [
{
'id': 'name',
'hint': 'Put the name here'
},
{
'id': 'description',
'hint': 'Put the description here'
},
{
'id': 'more',
'hint': 'Put more here'
}
]
},
methods: {
onFocus(focusedField) {
// Somehow loop through the hints
// I am aware there is no "hints" property this is an example
this.hints.forEach(function(field) {
field.isHighlighted = (focusedField == field.id)
})
}
}
})
Short answer: you don't need a direct reference to the components displaying the hint because you can solve this problem using reactivity.
Only thing you need to do is add a data field which stores the field id you want to highlight and then conditionally add a class to the hint you want to highlight based on the selected id (or render the components conditionally).
new Vue({
el: "#app",
data: {
highlightedFieldId: '',
fields: [
{
'id': 'name',
'hint': 'Put the name here' },
{
'id': 'description',
'hint': 'Put the description here' },
{
'id': 'more',
'hint': 'Put more here' }
]
},
methods: {
onFocus(focusedFieldId) {
this.highlightedFieldId = focusedFieldId;
}
}
})
Here's an update to your Fiddle.
NOTES:
If you really need direct references you can use the ref directive (this also works in a list of components generated by v-for).
You should probably think about using tooltips for the hints. E.g. using Element UI's Tooltip.
UPDATE:
So, here's a solution using the ref directive to obtain a reference to the highlighted hint component. You can see that I used the field id in :ref but you still get an array from this.$refs[focusedFieldId] since there is a surrounding v-for. Other than that, it's pretty simple.
I also updated the hint component to accept the is-highlighted prop so it can change its class on its own (you previously used a data property for this which does not result in a component update).

Meteor : Iterate through array of Objects inside an Object

I'm currently trying to iterate through an array of Objects inside an Object.
I have my Collection "Proposals", and this is the corresponding Schema :
Schemas.ProposalsSchema = new SimpleSchema({
'content': {
type: String,
max: 140
},
'parties': {
type: [Object],
autoform : {
type: "select-multiple"
}
},
'parties.$._id': {
type: Object,
optional: true
},
'parties.$._id._str': {
type: String
},
'parties.$.name': {
type: String
}
});
I would like to iterate through the array of parties inside one of my template. I tried this :
{{#each proposals}}
<p>{{content}}</p>
<p>{{#each parties}} {{this.name}} {{/each}}</p>
{{/each}}
The content is displayed, but not the name of the different parties. Here's my template helper :
Template.proposalsIndex.helpers({
proposals: () => Proposals.find().fetch()
});
Do you know what do i do wrong?
Thank you in advance.
The code you posted looks ok.
Things you need to check are:
Is the "parties" field populated in a database? (you can run Proposals.find().fetch() in a meteor shell to check it).
If not, find out why it is not populated.
Is the "parties" field published to client? (you can run Proposals.find().fetch() in a browser console and see the results).
If not, check your publication.

In Select2, how do formatSelection and formatResult work?

I'm using Select2 (http://ivaynberg.github.io/select2/) to have an input field of a form (let's say its id is topics) to be in tagging mode, with the list of existing tags (allowing the user to choose some of these tags, or to create new ones) being provided by an array of remote data.
The array (list.json) is correctly got from my server. It has id and text fields, since Select2 seems to need these fields. It thus looks like this:
[ { id: 'tag1', text: 'tag1' }, { id: 'tag2', text: 'tag2' }, { id: 'tag3', text: 'tag3' } ]
The script in the HTML file looks like this:
$("#topics").select2({
ajax: {
url: "/mypath/list.json",
dataType: 'json',
results: function (data, page) {
return {results: data};
},
}
});
But the input field is showing "searching", which means it's not able to use the array for tagging support.
In the script with Select2, I know I have to define formatSelection and formatInput, but I'm not getting how they should work in my case, although I have read the Select2 documentation... Thank you for your help!
You need to add the function like explained here. In your example:
function format(state) {
return state.text;
}

How to add a new object to an array nested inside an object?

I'm trying to get a handle on using $resource in angularjs and I keep referencing this answer AngularJS $resource RESTful example for good examples. Fetching a record and creating a record work fine, but now i'm trying to add a "section" to an existing mongo record but can't figure it out.
documents collection
{
_id: 'theid',
name: 'My name",
sections: [
{
title: 'First title'
},
{
title: 'Second title'
}
]
}
angular controller snippet
var document = documentService.get({_id: 'theid'});
// TRYING TO ADD $scope.section TO THE SECTIONS ARRAY IN THE VARIABLE document.
//document.sections.push($scope.section); <-- This does NOT work
//document.new_section($scope.section); <-- could do this and then parse it out and insert it in my backend code, but this solution seems hacky and terrible to me.
document.$save(function(section) {
//$scope.document.push(section);
});
documentService
return $resource(SETTINGS.base + '/documents/:id', { id: '#id' },
{
update: { method: 'PUT' }
});
From the link i posted above, If I was just updating the name field, I could just do something like this:
var document = documentService.get({_id: 'theid'});
document.name = "My new name";
document.$save(function(section) {
//$scope.document.push(section);
});
I'm just trying to add an object to a nested array of objects.
Try this:
documentService.get({_id: 'theid'}, function(document) {
document.sections.push($scope.section);
document.$save();
});

Accessing Ext Designer JsonStore from another file

I want to access an JsonStore created from the ext designer from another panels user js file.
The file store file generated from the designer looks like this
myJsonStore = Ext.extend(Ext.data.JsonStore, {
constructor: function(cfg) {
cfg = cfg || {};
CoaJsonStore.superclass.constructor.call(this, Ext.apply({
storeId: 'myJsonStore',
url: '/server.json',
restful: true,
autoLoad: true,
autoSave: false,
fields: [
{
name: 'id'
},
{
name: 'code'
},
{
name: 'name'
}
]
}, cfg));
}
});
new myJsonStore();
what i am doing right now is using a hidden combo and assign the store to the combo, this allows me to access it via autoRef (with. combo.getStore(), it gives me an object type of Store). Ideally i want to be able to do it without the hidden combo.
i have tried referring to it with storeId, but it doesn't work, if i log the storeId to the console this is what i get.
function (cfg) {
cfg = cfg || {};
CoaJsonStore.superclass.constructor.call(this, Ext.apply({
storeId: 'myJsonStore',
url: '/coas.json',
restful: true,
........
so i was just wondering whether this is even possible. if so some direction on how to get it done would be greatly appreciated . thanks
The new myJsonStore(); only creates a new store. In order to reference the store elsewhere in your code ( same file or another file) you need to use a variable. Create the store like this:
var myStore = new myJsonStore();
And to bind it to the comobobox use the variable name myStore with the store property.
