remove value from the list - javascript

I have a list of checkboxes. Upon clicking on each of the checkboxes i am adding the value to the hidden variable. But the question is if I want to remove the value from the list upon unchecking the checkbox . How this piece cab be done
here is the hidden form variable
<input name="IDList[]" type="hidden" id="IDList" value="" />
and the jquery
$(".myCheckboxClass").change(function() {
var output = 0;
$(".myCheckboxClass").change(function() {
if ($(this).is(":checked")) {
output += ", " + $(this).val();
} else {
output = $.grep(output, function(value) {
return value != $(this).val();
});
}
$("#IDList").val(output);
});
});

Something like this: (demo) http://jsfiddle.net/wesbos/5N2kb/1/
we use an object called vals to store the info. ADding and removing as we check/uncheck.
var vals = {};
$('input[type=checkbox]').click(function() {
var that = $(this);
if (that.is(':checked')) {
console.log(this.name);
vals[this.name] = "In your Object";
}
else {
delete vals[this.name];
}
console.log(vals);
});

Following your logic, you could do this:
$('#IDList').data('value', []);
$(".myCheckboxClass").change(function() {
var list = $('#IDList').data('value');
if ($(this).is(":checked")) {
list.push($(this).val());
} else {
var indexToRemove = list.indexOf($(this).val());
list.splice(indexToRemove, 1);
}
$('#IDList').val(list);
});
But if you only care about the value of #IDList upon data submission or other actions, you probably want to consider an alternative approach: collating the checked values when you need them.
$('#form').submit(function() {
var list = $('input.myCheckboxClass:checked', this).map(function() {
return $(this).val();
}).get();
$('#IDList').val(list);
});
See both of the above in action: http://jsfiddle.net/william/F6gVg/1/.

How can I add validation to an Input field? Binding JSON model doesn't work

I try to learn SAPUI5 with Samples frpm Demo kit Input - Checked. I get an error message: oInput.getBinding is not a function
I have a simple input field xml:
<Label text="Name" required="false" width="60%" visible="true"/>
<Input id="nameInput" type="Text" enabled="true" visible="true" valueHelpOnly="false" required="true" width="60%" valueStateText="Name must not be empty." maxLength="0" value="{previewModel>/name}" change= "onChange"/>
and my controller:
_validateInput: function(oInput) {
var oView = this.getView().byId("nameInput");
oView.setModel(this.getView().getModel("previewModel"));
var oBinding = oInput.getBinding("value");
var sValueState = "None";
var bValidationError = false;
try {
oBinding.getType().validateValue(oInput.getValue());
} catch (oException) {
sValueState = "Error";
bValidationError = true;
}
oInput.setValueState(sValueState);
return bValidationError;
},
/**
* Event handler for the continue button
*/
onContinue : function () {
// collect input controls
var that = this;
var oView = this.getView();
var aInputs =oView.byId("nameInput");
var bValidationError = false;
// check that inputs are not empty
// this does not happen during data binding as this is only triggered by changes
jQuery.each(aInputs, function (i, oInput) {
bValidationError = that._validateInput(oInput) || bValidationError;
});
// output result
if (!bValidationError) {
MessageToast.show("The input is validated. You could now continue to the next screen");
} else {
MessageBox.alert("A validation error has occured. Complete your input first");
}
},
// onChange update valueState of input
onChange: function(oEvent) {
var oInput = oEvent.getSource();
this._validateInput(oInput);
},
Can someone explain to me how I can set the Model?
Your model is fine and correctly binded.
The problem in your code is here, in the onContinue function
jQuery.each(aInputs, function (i, oInput) {
bValidationError = that._validateInput(oInput) || bValidationError;
});
aInput is not an array, so your code is not iterating on an array element.
To quickly fix this, you can put parentheses around the declaration like this:
var aInputs = [
oView.byId("nameInput")
];
Also, you could remove the first two lines of the _validateInput method since they are useless...
Usually, we set the model once the view is loaded, not when the value is changed. For example, if you would like to set a JSONModel with the name "previewModel", you can do as mentioned below.
Note that onInit is called when the controller is initialized. If you bind the model properly as follows, then the oEvent.getSource().getBinding("value") will return the expected value.
onInit: function(){
var oView = this.getView().byId("nameInput");
oView.setModel(new sap.ui.model.json.JSONModel({
name : "HELLO"
}), "previewModel");
},
onChange: function(oEvent) {
var oInput = oEvent.getSource();
this._validateInput(oInput);
},
...
Also, for validating the input text, you can do the following:
_validateInput: function(oInput) {
var oBinding = oInput.getBinding("value");
var sValueState = "None";
var sValueStateText = "";
var bValidationError = false;
if(oBinding.getValue().length === 0){
sValueState = "Error";
sValueStateText = "Custom Error"
}
oInput.setValueState(sValueState);
if(sValueState === "Error"){
oInput.setValueStateText(sValueStateText);
}
return bValidationError;
},
Please note that the code above is not high quality and production ready as it's a quick response to this post :)

Couldn't append span element to array object in Angularjs/Jquery

Am struggling hard to bind an array object with list of span values using watcher in Angularjs.
It is partially working, when i input span elements, an array automatically gets created for each span and when I remove any span element -> respective row from the existing array gets deleted and all the other rows gets realigned correctly(without disturbing the value and name).
The problem is when I remove a span element and reenter it using my input text, it is not getting added to my array. So, after removing one span element, and enter any new element - these new values are not getting appended to my array.
DemoCode fiddle link
What am I missing in my code?
How can I get reinserted spans to be appended to the existing array object without disturbing the values of leftover rows (name and values of array)?
Please note that values will get changed any time as per a chart.
This is the code am using:
<script>
function rdCtrl($scope) {
$scope.dataset_v1 = {};
$scope.dataset_wc = {};
$scope.$watch('dataset_wc', function (newVal) {
//alert('columns changed :: ' + JSON.stringify($scope.dataset_wc, null, 2));
$('#status').html(JSON.stringify($scope.dataset_wc));
}, true);
$(function () {
$('#tags input').on('focusout', function () {
var txt = this.value.replace(/[^a-zA-Z0-9\+\-\.\#]/g, ''); // allowed characters
if (txt) {
//alert(txt);
$(this).before('<span class="tag">' + txt.toLowerCase() + '</span>');
var div = $("#tags");
var spans = div.find("span");
spans.each(function (i, elem) { // loop over each spans
$scope.dataset_v1["d" + i] = { // add the key for each object results in "d0, d1..n"
id: i, // gives the id as "0,1,2.....n"
name: $(elem).text(), // push the text of the span in the loop
value: 3
}
});
$("#assign").click();
}
this.value = "";
}).on('keyup', function (e) {
// if: comma,enter (delimit more keyCodes with | pipe)
if (/(188|13)/.test(e.which)) $(this).focusout();
if ($('#tags span').length == 7) {
document.getElementById('inptags').style.display = 'none';
}
});
$('#tags').on('click', '.tag', function () {
var tagrm = this.innerHTML;
sk1 = $scope.dataset_wc;
removeparent(sk1);
filter($scope.dataset_v1, tagrm, 0);
$(this).remove();
document.getElementById('inptags').style.display = 'block';
$("#assign").click();
});
});
$scope.assign = function () {
$scope.dataset_wc = $scope.dataset_v1;
};
function filter(arr, m, i) {
if (i < arr.length) {
if (arr[i].name === m) {
arr.splice(i, 1);
arr.forEach(function (val, index) {
val.id = index
});
return arr
} else {
return filter(arr, m, i + 1)
}
} else {
return m + " not found in array"
}
}
function removeparent(d1)
{
dataset = d1;
d_sk = [];
Object.keys(dataset).forEach(function (key) {
// Get the value from the object
var value = dataset[key].value;
d_sk.push(dataset[key]);
});
$scope.dataset_v1 = d_sk;
}
}
</script>
Am giving another try, checking my luck on SO... I tried using another object to track the data while appending, but found difficult.
You should be using the scope as a way to bridge the full array and the tags. use ng-repeat to show the tags, and use the input model to push it into the main array that's showing the tags. I got it started for you here: http://jsfiddle.net/d5ah88mh/9/
function rdCtrl($scope){
$scope.dataset = [];
$scope.inputVal = "";
$scope.removeData = function(index){
$scope.dataset.splice(index, 1);
redoIndexes($scope.dataset);
}
$scope.addToData = function(){
$scope.dataset.push(
{"id": $scope.dataset.length+1,
"name": $scope.inputVal,
"value": 3}
);
$scope.inputVal = "";
redoIndexes($scope.dataset);
}
function redoIndexes(dataset){
for(i=0; i<dataset.length; i++){
$scope.dataset[i].id = i;
}
}
}
<div ng-app>
<div ng-controller="rdCtrl">
<div id="tags" style="border:none;width:370px;margin-left:300px;">
<span class="tag" style="padding:10px;background-color:#808080;margin-left:10px;margin-right:10px;" ng-repeat="data in dataset" id="4" ng-click="removeData($index)">{{data.name}}</span>
<div>
<input type="text" style="margin-left:-5px;" id="inptags" value="" placeholder="Add ur 5 main categories (enter ,)" ng-model="inputVal" />
<button type="submit" ng-click="addToData()">Submit</button>
<img src="../../../static/app/img/accept.png" ng-click="assign()" id="assign" style="cursor:pointer;display:none" />
</div>
</div>
<div id="status" style="margin-top:100px;"></div>
</div>
</div>

Angularjs checkbox value on edit profile page

I am new to angularjs and getting some problem on checkbox values on edit profile page.
I have an array for checkbox
$scope.checkBoxes = [
{id:'1', value:'Reading'},
{id:'2', value:'Cooking'},
{id:'3', value:'Dancing'},
{id:'4', value:'Singing'}
];
and I have used ng-repeat for showing checkbox
<div ng-repeat="checkBox in checkBoxes" style="display:inline;">
<input type="checkbox" ng-model="checkBox.selected" id={{checkBox.id}}' ng-checked="checkItem(checkBox.id)" ng-change="listActionsHandler(checkBoxes)">{{ checkBox.value }}
</div>
This is my ng-change function:
$scope.listActionsHandler = function(list) {
var has = [];
angular.forEach(list, function(item) {
if ( angular.isDefined(item.selected) && item.selected === true ) {
has.push(item.id);
}
});
formData['hobby'] = has;
}
and this is my ng-checked function that is used for showing checkbox checked according to database saved value.
var arr_checked_items = data.data.hobby;
var arraySize = arr_checked_items.length;
$scope.checkItem = function (id) {
var checked = false;
for(var i=0; i<= arraySize; i++) {
if(id == arr_checked_items[i]) {
checked = true;
}
}
return checked;
};
These function work properly on add and edit page, but problem is that when I doesn't apply any changes on checkbox and click on submit button it take blank value.
My question is that: if I does not apply any changes, it should take old value of checkbox and if I apply any changes, it should take new value of checkbox.
Please try with below code. I am not sure weather it is working or not.
$scope.checkItem = function (id) {
var checked = "";
for(var i=0; i<= arraySize; i++) {
if(id == arr_checked_items[i]) {
checked = "checked";
}
}
return checked;
};

get all checked checboxes and add their names and values in array

I have large form mainly drop down lists and checkboxes. Checkboxes are created dynamically so i don't know their id's before they are created. I use drop down onChange event to do create them on the fly.
How can i loop trough the form and get all the checkboxes that are checked, that is their id and their value? I need to do this only for check boxes that are checked. All checkboxes share the same name, that is: categoriesfilters[]. Currently i have on click event on the checkbox which invoke the javascript function.
Here is the code:
function update_number_of_adds_found(field_dropdown,selected_value) {
selected_value="";
var addtypeid = $("#addtypeid").val();
// trying to store the values of the checkboxes
$(this).find("input[type=checkbox]:checked").each(
function() {
var id = $(this).attr('id');
var value = $(this).val(); // or maybe attr('value');
// the data is stored, do whatever you want with it.
alert(value);
}
);
var selected_value = {
addtypeid: addtypeid,
// need to add the ids and the values here as well
};
var url = "<?php echo site_url('search/findNumberOfAdds'); ?>";
$.post(url, selected_value, function(r){
if(r) {
$('#totalNumOfAdds').empty();
$("#totalNumOfAdds").append(r.result);
} else {
// alert(selected_value);
}
}, 'json')
}
Regards, John
Try this :
var categories = [];
$("input[name='categoriesfilters[]']:checked").each(
function() {
var id = $(this).attr("id");
var value = $(this).val();
categories[categories.length] = {id : value};
}
);
console.log(categories);
$.post(url, categories, function(r){
...
Try this :
$('form').submit(function(){
$(this).find("input[type=checkbox]:checked").each(
function() {
var id = $(this).attr('id');
var value = $(this).val(); // or maybe attr('value');
// the data is stored, do whatever you want with it.
}
);
});
I guess you want to check that on form submit.
var arr = [];
$('input[name^="categoriesfilters"]:checked').each(function() {
var obj = {
id: $(this).attr('id');
value: $(this).val();
};
arr.push(obj);
});
console.log(arr); // show us the array of objects
Would you like to use Jquery?
Add a class to each of the checkbox i.e "class_chk";
$(function(){
$('.class_chk').each(function(){
if($(this).is(':checked')){
var id = $(this).attr('id');
var val = $(this).val();
alert("id = "+id+"---- value ="+val);
}
});
});
The above way you can get all the check box id and value those are checked.
Thanks..

How to know which tables's checkbox is selected?

This is a function
function collect_users_and_groups() {
var tos = [];
$('#mytable12 input:checked, #groupsTable1 input:checked').each(function(i, elt) {
//alert("to groups");
var dataids = $(this).parent().attr("data-selected").split(",");
alert("dataids "+dataids);
var name = $.trim($(this).parent().next().text());
tos.push(name);
});
return tos.join(', ');
}
which is called when I select check boxes
Actually groupsTable1 has data-selected attribute but mytable12 does not have.
I want to call this var dataids = $(this).parent().attr("data-selected").split(",");
when checkbox of groupsTable1 is clicked
Please tell me how to do?
This is the full fiddle,the above js codes can be found in between 22-33 in the js section
You can use .is() to check table is groupsTable1.
function collect_users_and_groups() {
var tos = [];
$('#mytable12 input:checked, #groupsTable1 input:checked').each(function(i, elt) {
//Check table is groupsTable1
if($(this).closest('table').is("#groupsTable1")){
//alert("to groups");
var dataids = $(this).parent().attr("data-selected").split(",");
alert("dataids "+dataids);
var name = $.trim($(this).parent().next().text());
tos.push(name);
}
});
return tos.join(', ');
}
OR
Simply use
$('#mytable12 input:checked, #groupsTable1 input:checked').each(function(i, elt) {
instead of
$('#groupsTable1 input:checked').each(function(i, elt) {
