JQuery Tabs - Toggle Animations - javascript

So far I have this code
$(document).ready(function(e) {
$(".slidetabs").tabs(".images > div", {
effect: "fade",
rotate: true,
autoplay: true
}).slideshow();
$(".slidetabs").data("slideshow").play();
});
Is there any way to have different animation? Not cross-fade, but something else. fx{} doesn't work for me and I don't know why.

effect seems to work for jQuery TOOLS-variant of tabs. You're sure you're not using that?
http://flowplayer.org/tools/tabs/index.html#effects <-custom effects in that case.
If this is about jQuery UI, this is a dupe: Different animations for Jquery ui tabs
(though that one is a bit old, it still gives the right answer afaik).

Hard Javascript/jQuery Animation (Spinner/Scroller)

Okay, I'm trying to make it so when you click a button it'll spin a div with it's randomized contents and it'll slow down on stop on a specified div, now I have no idea where to start,
Here is an example of what I'm trying to do,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7jjhLUKleg
Any idea how to start? what should my priority be, jQuery or Javascript?
Kind Regards
EDIT: I'm not asking for anyone to spoonfeed me code, I just need an idea on where to start.
The animation itself can be probably solved easily using JQuery Animate functions. The animation supports easing, and the "ease out" is what you need. With some CSS, you would create some kind of viewport, and move the elements from right to left until the animation stops.
Let me help you with some starting code: http://jsfiddle.net/dfevruws/1/
The animation command is very simple:
$(function() {
$( "#items" ).animate({
left: -2000
}, {
duration: 5000,
easing: "easeOutQuad"
});
});
Probably more interesting than this is how you handle the selected item, but this is a different story, you ask for the Animation.

Animate object off of screen with no lag

I've been using Animate.CSS and basic Jquery to animate elements on and off the screen. The issue is this has been creating a lot of lag due to a background slideshow occurring at the same time as the on screen animations. I've been looking into alternatives to help fix this issue.
I've read about using Opacity and TranslateZ etc to have elements come in and off of the page.
What would be the best way to change my code below to potentially lag less during animation?
//Screen 7 Start
//Highest Planned College
$( "#screen7" ).hide()
$(".buttonsQuestion7").click(function() {
$('#screen7').addClass('animated slideOutUp');
$('#screen7').fadeOut()
$( "#screen8" ).show()
$( "#screen8" ).addClass('animated slideInUp');
});
I had lag problems too with jQuery animations. The problem was lying in having several animations after one another like you have :
$('#screen7').fadeOut();
$( "#screen8" ).show();
What fixed it for me was to call the second animation in the callback of the first one like so:
$('#screen7').effect('fadeOut', {
direction: 'left',
mode: 'hide',
duration: '300',
complete: function(){
$('#screen8').show();
}
});
In this case i am using .effect() from jQuery UI but .fadeOut() has the same complete callback option
http://api.jquery.com/fadeout/
Hope that helps

Adjust speed on jQuery UI accordion

I have a jQuery UI accordion of which I need to urgently change the speed/duration of the animation before the site goes live.
$(".faq-accordion > div").accordion({ header: "h4", collapsible: true, active: false, speed: "fast", });
Editing the speed in this line doesn't affect anything.
See JSFiddle for full code.
The show all/hide all buttons open the accordion at a much faster speed than when they are individually clicked.
I need to speed up the animation of the accordion so both are the same speed if possible.
If you take a look at the accordion API you'll see that there's no option called speed, you need to use animate. The equivalent to a duration setting of fast for slideUp and slideDown, in milliseconds, is 200, so you can just use that as a number value:
$(".faq-accordion > div").accordion({
header: "h4", collapsible: true, active: false,
animate:200
});
Here's your fiddle updated with this: http://jsfiddle.net/z3Lx1o0y/
You can specify the speed at a more granular level in the slideUp/slideDown function
e.g.
$('.applying div div').slideDown(1000);
Try tweaking this.

Flex Slider Issue Fade effects

I'm using flex slider in my html .
I have followed given steps to add slider in my html page.
Slider works well When animation = "slide" But
Not working properly when animation = "fade" ;
Fade effect does not show proper slides .
here is my script:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(window).load(function(){
$('.flexslider').flexslider({
animation: "fade",
animationSpeed: 1000,
direction: "horizontal",
slideshowSpeed: 2000,
pauseOnHover: true,
slideshow: true,
start: function(slider){
$('body').removeClass('loading');
}
});
});
</script>
Help me out.
thank's
Sounds like something with the CSS. I would create a fiddle so people can see your code and also explain exactly what you mean by "Fade effect does not show proper slides". What happens? Anything?
If you do that then I'm sure you'll get it figured out on here...
I had the same problem. Animation: "slide" worked fine but when I tried to use "fade" I wasn't able to click the thumbnails to change the slides. There is nothing wrong with the flex slider or the javascript. It works great in the flex slider demo, so...
Try fiddling with the positioning/layering of the <ol>. The thumbnails are probably layered beneath the main slide image, making it impossible to actually click them.
This worked for me:
ol.flex-control-thumbs {clear: both;}
But you can also try playing with positioning and z-index if clearing doesn't work. It's going to depend heavily on how your HTML and CSS is structured. If that <ol> thumbnail list can wiggle it's way underneath the slider, it will. And nobody likes not being able to click stuff!
In my case, solution was simple.
Thumbnails work well, but its "under" the slides. Just set .flex-control-nav with high z-index.
.flex-control-nav{
z-index:500;
}
Should work.

carousel trigger when continuous scrolling not working

The carousel (caroufredsel) scroll (check this for example) continously to the left. When I hover to an arrow to the right it will stop scrolling then it will reverse it's direction. I tried using custom events but it appears that it's not working. Here's a code of the carousel.
$('#gallery').carouFredSel({
width: "variable",
auto: {
items : 4,
duration :"40000",
easing :"linear",
timeoutDuration :0,
pauseOnHover :"immediate"
},
items: {
visible: 3
}
});
Now my custom event that will cause the carousel to reverse is direction is like this. But it's not working until the whole items where finished scrolling. What I want to achieve is to instantaneously reverse the direction when hovering.
$('a.prev').hover(function()
{
$('#gallery').trigger("pause");
$('#gallery').trigger("configuration",["direction",right]);
$('#gallery').trigger("play");
}
The code above doesn't work and I've tried different events that will simulate the reversal of scrolling but had no luck with it.
If there's no workaround for this. I'm willing to change another plugin that will easily do the work. If you know something that can do it easily please leave your suggestions. Thank you very much!
That totally depends how the carousel is implemented. A possible solution might be to stop the eventPropagation. It may or may not work depending on the implementation of the carousel.
$('a.prev').hover(function(event)
{
event.stopPropagation();
$('#gallery').trigger("pause");
$('#gallery').trigger("configuration",["direction",right]);
$('#gallery').trigger("play");
}
