On the Torch 9800 OS 6, my JS call doesn't seem to be working properly. I've tried multiple approaches:
Using body onload=document.location+=#page2
Using a setTimeout() to wait for the DOM to load.
Placing the JS call at the bottom, which is what I currently have:
The alert pops up, but I don't see any HTML loaded. * This works on OS 5 *
<html>
<body>
<a id='page0'/>
<div>
...
</div>
<a id='page1'/>
<div>
...
</div>
<a id='page2'/>
<div>
...
</div>
<script type='text/javascript'>
window.onload=function()
{
alert('asdf');
document.location='app:#page2';
}
</script>
</body>
</html>
Have you tried
document.location='app://#page2';
??
Then maybe puting it in the body tag
<body onLoad="document.location='app:#page2';">
I've solved the issue by appending the anchor page to the end of the 'name' where the BrowserField object opens the HTML.

I am trying to run a javascript inside of a div tag because i have heard its possible but for some reason the code does nothing.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<title>XDSITE</title>
<br>
<br>
<div id=mycode style="BACKGROUND:
url('javascript:eval(window.alert("sometext"))'"></div>
</body>
</html>
You have some problems in your HTML it is not valid, you can't run JavaScript from a style attribute.
You can run Javascript from within a <script> tag which really is the best way to do it.
<script>
document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Hello JavaScript!";
</script>
Alternatively there are some HTML elements that allow you to execute it on some events, like onchange, onclick etc.
<select onchange="myFunction()">
<button onclick="myFunction()">Click me</button>
https://www.w3schools.com/ is a great resource for learning more about each html element, and also JavaScript as a whole.
Good luck
can you please tell here which java script framework is you are using? you can achieve this by using and template java script framework like Angular, React...
If u dont want to use any framework than you need to write pure javascript or jquery code for assigning the background css prop.
for entire body,
document.body.style.backgroundImage = "url('img_tree.png')";
for div,
document.getElementById("mycode").style.backgroundImage = "url('img_tree.png')";
<!-- U have to give event inside expression like onclick ,mouseup Click that text -->
<div id=mycode onclick="alert('Hi ....sometext')">THARA
</div>
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <body> <title>XDSITE</title> <br> <br> <div id=mycode style="BACKGROUND: url('javascript:eval(window.alert("sometext"))'"></div> </body> </html>
Answer :
Open script in footer
<script>
$( "#mycode" ).click(function() {
alert( "Hai" );
});
</script>
I hope its working for you ...
You can target HTML tag using getElementById() and then apply custom style like this
document.getElementById("Mydiv").style.backgroundColor="#0000"
or apply a bunch of styles like this
var dev = document.getElementById("Mydiv");
dev.style.backgroundColor="#0000";
dev.style.fontSize="..";
dev.style.backgroundImage="..";
You can run your function using "onerror" event. And also you must do some error in that case. For eg.
<img src="someFakeSrc" onerror='javascript:eval(window.alert("sometext"))'>
HTML doesn't see a src of picture then run a 'onerror' event.
In Google chrome web browser
about:blank gives an empty page and F12 gives you access to Developer Tab.
Right-clicking a source in Elements gives Edit as Html Option in Developer Tab
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
<div>
<button id="myBtn">Button</button>
</div>
<div id="demo">
</div>
<script>
document.getElementById("myBtn").addEventListener("click", function () {
document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Hello World";
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
Above is a JavaScript snippet which I copied in. But JavaScript code is not executing. Is this work flow of real time html editing not supported in chrome ?
Your script would ran, if it existed there when the page gets loaded. After the page has loaded, no script tags will just run when edited in.
You could wrap everything inside the script tags into a function and call that I think, however.
One other, but kind of a useless and technical trick that might let you run JavaScript, by editing in elements after the page has loaded, looks something like this:
If you add that in to the loaded page's HTML, the script inside that input-element's onfocus-attribute should run. This, however, is no proper way to do anything other than Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).
You can use a template literal, document.write() at console. At about:blank page press F12, at console enter
var html = `<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<title></title>
</head>
<body>
<div>
<button id="myBtn">Button</button>
</div>
<div id="demo">
</div>
<script>
document.getElementById("myBtn").addEventListener("click", function () {
document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Hello World";
});
</script>
</body>
</html>`;
document.write(html);
then click <button> element.
You can alternatively click Sources -> Snippets, type or paste the above javascript at center window, click right-pointing triangle at right panel to run javascript at Snippets. You can also right-click at Snippets panel to create a new snippet to run.
problem is, that the website is loading like for about 20 second or longer (user-problems preprogrammed)
my solution was to load a pre-site where the user sees a loading screen.
i did this with this html-site but i want to do the same in php.
the test-page is http://kater.selfhost.me/test/
Source Code:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
<head runat="server">
<title></title>
<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload = function() {
document.getElementById("siteLoader").style.display = "none";
document.getElementById("container").style.display = "block";
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="container" style="display:none">
<div id="body">
<iframe src="http://kater.selfhost.me/stats/skins.php" frameborder="0" height="2000px" width="1024px"></iframe>
</div>
</div>
<div id='siteLoader'>
<div id='siteDetailLoader'>
<img src='ajax_loader.gif' border='0'>
Please wait while the page loads...<br /> <br />
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
i tried some workarounds, but after searching & testing for about three hours i give up...
thanks in advance for any help provided! :-D
Adding what I alredy said at your question commentary, I made a code loading this content via AJAX:
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
$( document ).ready(function() {
//Load content
loadAjaxContent();
});
function loadAjaxContent()
{
//VERY IMPORTANT: the URL domain MUST HAVE be the same as your request
//that's why I'm not writting the full http://kater.selfhost.me/stats/skins.php
$.ajax({
url: "/stats/skins.php"
}).done(function(data) {
//remove loader
$("#siteLoader").hide();
//put PHP content
$("#ajaxContent").html(data);
});
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="body">
<div id="ajaxContent" style="width:1024px;"></div>
<div id='siteLoader'>
<div id='siteDetailLoader'>
<img src='ajax_loader.gif' border='0' />
Please wait while the page loads...<br /> <br />
</div>
</div>
This is the most used way to load asynchronous content in the web. But pay attention at this: The http://kater.selfhost.me/stats/skins.php page is made to open as single page in the web, so it has <html> , <head>, <body> , etc.. tags, so..after loading this page into another you'll have two <html>, <body> .. tags in a same page, this is bad, but modern browsers have an awesome common sense and don't bother by this, but you should know that, and be aware.
The actual problem why it isn't loading yet, is this javascript in your content:
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
EXref="";top.document.referrer?EXref=top.document.referrer:EXref=document.referrer;//-->
</script>
I removed that and now works fine. Remember that's a quick fix, I don't know what this JS does.
Why it works in <iframe> and doesn't via AJAX? When you open in <iframe> is like opening in a new browser window..and via AJAX, as I have said, it'll load the page content straight inside your "parent" page.
So, removing this Javascript will work, but awesome further solutions:
If you need to open this page both as content to load (via AJAX), both as single page, you can make two pages.. one for each need.
If you just want to use as content to load, remove <html>, <head>, etc.. tags, and fix Javascript to work inside another page.
In the following example the flash in my HTML would not show after moving it's parent element in DOM. I use appendChild on enclosing div of my object element to move it somewhere else in the DOM hierarchy, but after the move is complete the containing flash would not show.
I get this error in IE 10 and firefox, in Chrome there seems to be no problem.
This error happened in much larger project, but I managed to distill it to the following little example.
<html>
<head>
<script>
window.onload = function() {
var copy = document.getElementById("s");
document.getElementById("newparent").appendChild(copy); //if I comment out this line, example works
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="newparent"> <!-- here will the object be appended -->
</div>
<div id="s">
<object width="50%" height="50%" data="http://www.w3schools.com/tags/helloworld.swf">SWF Not shown</object>
</div>
</body>
</html>
If I comment out the second line of my onload function, the flash shows properly (but it is not moved around). I am not able to google anything. Perhaps I am not able to describe my problem, I am pretty new to HTML. Thanks in advice.
OK, so thanks to you guys, I had an idea of what to look for and I stumbled upon this article.
The problem I have seems to be that for some ?security? reasons the flash would not load after being moved. I devised this dirty workaround, simply I force browser to parse and recalculate the object tag. Is it so? I hope I understand well what am I doing.
<html>
<head>
<script>
window.onload = function() {
var copy = document.getElementById("s");
document.getElementById("newparent").appendChild(copy);
copy.innerHTML = copy.innerHTML; //dirty workaround
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="newparent"> <!-- here will the object be appended -->
</div>
<div id="s">
<object width="50%" height="50%" data="http://www.w3schools.com/tags/helloworld.swf">SWF Not shown</object>
</div>
</body>
</html>
In a jquery mobile webpage, I would like to call a script defined within script tags in the HEAD section of the jsp.
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="jquerymobile/jquery.mobile-1.0a1.min.css" />
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquerymobile/jquery-1.4.3.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jquerymobile/jquery.mobile-1.0a1.min.js"></script>
<script>
$("#button").click( function()
{
alert('button clicked');
}
);
</script>
</head>
<body>
<html:errors/>
<div data-role="page" data-theme='a'>
<div data-role="header">
<h1>jquerymobile</h1>
</div>
<div data-role="content">
<div id="button" data-role="button">Click on button</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
When the Button is clicked, I want the alert to be shown. But nothing happens when the button is clicked.
Could someone tell me where I am going wrong?
EDIT1:
The following code brings up the alert in Firefox & Opera Desktop Browsers.
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#vbutton").click(function() {
alert("clicked");
});
});
<a id="vbutton" data-role="button">Click Button</a>
Any reason why the same does not work with Opera Mobile & Fennec browsers - where it shows the Error Loading Page dialog??
Your problem is that you are searching for $('#button') before it exists...
Try wrapping your jQuery code in a $(document).ready(function(){ ... }) or its shorthand alias jQuery(function(){})
The other option is to include your initialization of the click event on the button until AFTER the #button exists in the DOM. In other words, you can move your <script> tag to the bottom of the page and it should work.
The problem was due to debug statements like
debugger;
debug.info(....)
which were understood by Firefox/Firebug, but were causing problems in Fennec & Opera Mobile browsers.
