Autocomplete for mobile web apps - javascript

Is there a library (like Wink Toolkit, Sencha Touch or jQuery Mobile) that offers autocomplete solutions for web apps out of the box?
I need to apologize because I forgot to add its all about a mobile web app.

The question is excellent. I'm just currently dealing with the very same design problem. Current auto-complete solutions work very poorly on mobile devices (if at all).
Luckily there is jQuery Mobile for which you can get jQM Autocomplete as a plugin. See also accompanying design notes.

jQuery UI has autocomplete.

there are in fact several.
jQuery UI has auto complete.

Ajax ControlToolkit has autocomplete control (for c#)
http://www.asp.net/AJAX/AjaxControlToolkit/Samples/AutoComplete/AutoComplete.aspx
Mootools auto complete

Hope it helps.

Haven't used any autocomplete function for Sencha Touch myself but I know that there is a feature called "combobox" which has that functionality and Sencha Touch developers could use.

Implementing autocomplete on mobile makes you have into account that user is more prone to typing errors, and also has a changing connection.
I made an autocomplete with jQuery UI autocomplete but it performed poorly on mobile. Maybe you could have a different experience with it.

Autocomplete Function with Databse, without JQuery Ui and JQuery Plugins

I am trying to find a way to program a simple autocomplete function with DB access, using JS, HTML5, CSS, Servlets and JQuery.
However, I can not use JQuery Ui (which is really bad since I do like the autocomplete function because of it's simplicity) or JQuery Plugins.
Datalist did not seem to do the job quite right on chrome (I had to select the element of the list and then click on it again after it has been selected, also it is not supported on Safari and iOS Safari).
Is there a simple way to build something like the JQuery Ui autocomplete function using only JQuery Ui and the rest of my tools? Thank you for your time and advice :)
You can use twitters typeahead plugin for simple autocompletion.

Multiple page Phonegap App without JQuery Mobile

I have created a few mobile app using phonegap and i have used jquery mobile, purely because the controls are nice looking, but mainly because it has the nice changePage function. I like to have multiple html documents to break up the code, and with over 10 separate screens i think it keeps the code tidier.
Can anyone tell me, how to normally changePage with a nice "slide" animation without using JQuery mobile, using multiple html pages. Is this possible?
I will still be using JQuery, but i would like to use something like chocolateUI or twitter bootstrap for the design of the controls.
Any examples would be much appreicated, i have tried googling this but all the results say "how to change page with JQuery Mobile" and i do not want this.
Thanks in advance
Maybe you could start working with Ionic Framework:
http://ionicframework.com/
It's works with AngularJS, and has the functionality you are looking for. It also works great with jQuery.
I've build a couple of apps with it myself and I'm still really fond of it!
There are other frameworks like:
OnsenUI (http://onsenui.io/)
Kendo UI (http://www.telerik.com/kendo-ui)
Sencha (http://www.sencha.com/products/touch/)
Monaca(http://monaca.mobi/en/)
ReactJS (http://facebook.github.io/react/)
Hope it helps!

How to use jquery and jqueryui for Internet Explorer add-on creation?

As a hobby thing, I am trying to create Internet Explorer Add-on using this article Creating Add-ons for Internet Explorer: Customizing Menus.
The above links describes two approaches:
Using javascript
Using DLL
I am trying to use Javascript for my project. Specifically, jqueryui for all the ui rendering. The problem I am facing is that I don't know how to include/use jqueryui in my add-on.
ADD
With jqueryui i am mostly interested in the dialog boxes and modal forms, activated from the context menu. Is it possible to do this?
Any direction, suggestion or code snippet is welcomed.
Thanks.
I don't think you can do any graphical stuff with the menus unless you go the DLL route - in which case you won't be using JavaScript. It looks like all you can do from JS is add menu items (as plain text).

Javascript Popup Window

I have used a ton of javascript popup windows over the years, any recommendations on the best one out there?
I would like to see if there are better ways to do popups.
Eric Martin's SimpleModal plug-in is quite nice and easy to use.
jQuery dialog is quite good.
QTip's really nice, its a Jquery based library that has a really clean look to it
I have also used Jquery Dialog, but find that QTip has some really nice features (see the images and stuff)
I had a very strange bug with Qtip the other day and the creator got back to me within twenty minutes of my git post and helped me debug it.
Good support, Great product
Extremely Lightweight Modal popup plugin.
POPELT - http://welbour.com/labs/popelt/
It is lightweight, supports nested popups, object oriented, supports dynamic buttons, responsive, and lot more.
Next update will include Popup Ajax form submissions etc.
Feel free to use and tweet feedback.
jsframe.js - https://github.com/riversun/JSFrame.js
It's lightweight popup window library for javascript.

How to achieve this javascript effect?

On this website: when the user clicks "register now" along the top bar the screen goes dim and a box appears offering the registration form with recaptcha. I have a registration form with recaptcha working on my site and would like to copy the effect seen above.
Can anyone link me to a specific tutorial offering instructions or alternatively provide me with the code?
I am a novice javascript programmer.
Thanks if you can help me.
There's couple of good plugins for that. If you use jQuery you can check Thickbox and even jQuery UI Dialog should probably be enough for what you want.
Take a look at jQuery effects, in case you haven't heard of jQuery before, here is a good introduction.
$('#register').click(function() {
$('#topBar').fadeOut('slow', function() {
// Some Code
});
});
The effect you are talking about is generally described as a "lightbox" - based on one of the earliest implementations (from what I remember). Check out this page on wikipedia and look about - the modal dialog implementation might be what you're talking about.
I'm pretty sure some of the standard frameworks like jQuery and MooTools implement this (directly or via plugins).
