I want to implement a scroll-spy to change the active state of buttons in the navigation bar. There are examples that use jQuery but I want to implement it with pure javascript. Is it possible? If it is possible, can you provide me an example code?
Edit: What I mean with pure js is not using any external libraries. Sorry for misrepresenting.
You can just define an handler for the scroll event with
document.getElementById("mydiv").onscroll = function(event){
update_buttons();
};

On https://www.blueorigin.com/ they have a mouseover effect on the front page with the "Astronaut Experience" and "tech..." boxes that are side by side each other underneath the video.
I am learning how to code websites right now, and working on making one right now with that similar style of effect. How would I be able to implement this? I have some basic javascript knowledge, html, css and using nodejs+express

I want to create a textarea that behaves like the tagging box in Youtube. Specifically:
Allow you to type whatever you want
When you press space it turns the word you just typed into a tag
You can remove tags with backspace or by clicking x on tags
Show suggestions as you type
You can add tags from outside the textarea as well
Also, what exactly is this method called?
I just used a javascript library 2 days ago that does excatly this. Check out the TextExtJs library

First poster here, but I wanted to know if there was anyway that it was possible to customize the JavaScript prompt boxes without using jQuery? I'm wanting to keep my site vanilla as possible. Thanks.
You can create your own modal dialog boxes. However you cannot customize how, for example, window.alert("Hello!") would look. That is completely up to the browser manufacturer.
create a 'div' and show that using an event.
