I am new to JQuery and learning it.
Trying to animate an image something shown like in the video (link is below).
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TORo-vTtCh5ezkbo9nfHKEqCdqXvh_kQ
Here is code I have tried.
Image animation is working but the image is moving (hiding) to the corner and not upwards.
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".btn1").click(function(){
$.fn.myFunction1();
$.fn.myFunction2();
});
$.fn.myFunction1 = function() {
$("img").hide(3500);
}
$.fn.myFunction2 = function() {
$("img").show(3500);
}
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<button class="btn1">Click Me</button>
<br>
<img src="http://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2016/phoebe-snetsingers-85th-birthday-5179281716019200-hp2x.gif">
You need to use jQuery UI to change the animation effect of the hide/show.
https://jqueryui.com/hide/
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".btn1").click(function() {
$("img").hide("blind", {}, 3500);
$("img").show("blind", {}, 3500);
});
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.12.1/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
<button class="btn1">Click Me</button>
<br>
<img src="http://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2016/phoebe-snetsingers-85th-birthday-5179281716019200-hp2x.gif">
If you are looking for a basic slide up and slide down, that can be done with jquery. The problem that you might be experiencing is you are applying the hide/show to the image. Below I apply slideToggle to a div wrapping the img tag. SlideToggle automatically toggles between down and up states.
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".btn1").click(function(){
$("div").slideToggle(3500);
});
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<button class="btn1">Click Me</button>
<br><div>
<img src="http://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2016/phoebe-snetsingers-85th-birthday-5179281716019200-hp2x.gif">
I can't see your video, but i assumed, that you want to hide image without scaling. To do so, you should use slideUp and slideDown for that kind of animation. Second thing: even if you use above functions, img element will try to keep their aspect ratio, so you need to wrap that image in for example div and then use above functions on that div.
Example below
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".btn1").click(function(){
$.fn.myFunction1();
$.fn.myFunction2();
});
$.fn.myFunction1 = function() {
$(".img-wrapper").slideUp(3500);
}
$.fn.myFunction2 = function() {
$(".img-wrapper").slideDown(3500);
}
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<button class="btn1">Click Me</button>
<br>
<div class="img-wrapper">
<img src="http://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2016/phoebe-snetsingers-85th-birthday-5179281716019200-hp2x.gif">
</div>
If you want to scale image during animation, just add some basic CSS to div and img elements (Open preview in fullpage):
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".btn1").click(function(){
$.fn.myFunction1();
$.fn.myFunction2();
});
$.fn.myFunction1 = function() {
$(".img-wrapper").slideUp(3500);
}
$.fn.myFunction2 = function() {
$(".img-wrapper").slideDown(3500);
}
});
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/jquery/3.3.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<button class="btn1">Click Me</button>
<br>
<div class="img-wrapper" style="text-align:center;">
<img style="max-height:100%;height:auto;width:auto;display:inline-block;" src="http://www.google.com/logos/doodles/2016/phoebe-snetsingers-85th-birthday-5179281716019200-hp2x.gif">
</div>

I have searched an searched for answer to this question but can't seem to find an answer that works for me. What I'm wanting is an image that presents itself on the page as with a normal tag. I want the image to be clickable, and when it is clicked, some content will drop down below it for a description of the image, etc. Then, when the image is clicked again, it will hide the content.
My (beginner) javascript attempt looks like this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js">
$(window).load(function(){
$(".header").click(function () {
$header = $(this);
//getting the next element
$content = $header.next();
//open up the content needed - toggle the slide- if visible, slide up, if not slidedown.
$content.slideToggle(500, function () {
//execute this after slideToggle is done
//change text of header based on visibility of content div
$header.text(function () {
//change text based on condition
return $content.is(":visible") ? "Collapse" : "Expand";
});
});
The HTML is this:
<div class="container">
<div class="header"><img src="Placeholders/placeholder.jpg" width="500" height="333"></div>
<div class="content" style="display: none;">
The words should be here.
</div>
Any help would be appreciated, and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere. I couldn't find it.
You need a separate script tag for your code. You can't reuse the one that's importing jQuery.
<script type="text/javascript" src="//code.jquery.com/jquery-1.9.1.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
// Your code
</script>
Try this html:
<div class="container">
<div class="header"><img src="Placeholders/placeholder.jpg" width="500" height="333"></div>
<div class="content" style="height: 0px;overflow:hidden;">
The words should be here.
</div>
And this script:
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".header").click(function () {
if($(".content").height() === 0){
$(".content").animate({height: "20px"}, 500);
}else{
$(".content").animate({height: "0px"}, 500);
}
});
})

Hi I am making an effect that is when Mouse Enter in div one button shows in that div and when user mouse leave that area again button hide.
It works but the problem is that I have used div many times so I have used class for div definition.
So when Mouse enter in one div other div also affected.
Code :
jQuery:
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#container").mouseenter(function(){
$(":button").show();
});
$("#container").mouseleave(function(){
$(":button").hide();
});
});
</script>
jsp code :
<div id="container">
<div class="mainitemlist">
<div class="mainitemlistimage">
<a href="product?pid=3">
<img src="product_images/Tulips1760331818.jpg" height="125px" width="100px" style="border-radius:2px;">
</a>
</div>
<div class="mainitemlistname"><div align="center">Nokia Lumia 925</div></div>
<div class="mainitemlistprice"><div align="center">38000</div></div>
<div class="mainitemlistfeatures"><div align="center">null</div>
<button type="button" style="display: none;">Hide me</button></div>
</div>
<div class="mainitemlist">
<div class="mainitemlistimage">
<a href="product?pid=5">
<img src="product_images/Jellyfish456319058.jpg" height="125px" width="100px" style="border-radius:2px;">
</a>
</div>
<div class="mainitemlistname"><div align="center">HCL Me</div></div>
<div class="mainitemlistprice"><div align="center">40000</div></div>
<div class="mainitemlistfeatures"><div align="center">null</div>
<button type="button" style="display: none;">Hide me</button></div>
</div>
</div>
I have try to put Jquery on class="mainitemlist" but It's not working.
So I have added in id="container".
Anyone have idea, why it's not working ???
You can do this:
$(document).ready(function () {
$(".mainitemlist").mouseenter(function () {
$(this).find(":button").show();
}).mouseleave(function () {
$(this).find(":button").hide();
});
});
Demo: Fiddle
When you used the class mainitemlist you were not using the function scope properly using $(this) and hence it showing all the button on mouseenter, since you used the code:
$(":button").show();
UPDATE
$(document).ready(function () {
$(document).on('mouseenter', '.mainitemlist', function () {
$(this).find(":button").show();
}).on('mouseleave', '.mainitemlist', function () {
$(this).find(":button").hide();
});
});
try:
$(document).ready(function(){
$("#container").mouseenter(function(){
$("#container button").show();
});
$("#container").mouseleave(function(){
$("#container button").hide();
});
});
check out this fiddle.
b.t.w, you have 2 divs with the id of container. this is probably a mistake, and if not, it's bad practice.
hope that helps.
$("#container").mouseenter(function(){
$(this).find('#yourbutton').show();
});
$("#container").mouseleave(function(){
$(this).find('#yourbutton').hide();
});
I have 6 DIVs that show and hide, triggered by an onClick event. Currently if you click the 6 different pictures that trigger these divs, they all show up on top of eachother.
I would like only one DIV to show up at a time. So when you click a different image, it hides the currently displayed div and shows the new one.
I am guessing I need to loop through these somehow, can anyone point me in the right direction? My code:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function () {
$(".slidingDiv").hide();
$(".show_hide").show();
$('.show_hide').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv").slideToggle();
});
$(".slidingDiv2").hide();
$(".show_hide2").show();
$('.show_hide2').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv2").slideToggle();
});
$(".slidingDiv3").hide();
$(".show_hide3").show();
$('.show_hide3').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv3").slideToggle();
});
$(".slidingDiv4").hide();
$(".show_hide4").show();
$('.show_hide4').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv4").slideToggle();
});
$(".slidingDiv5").hide();
$(".show_hide5").show();
$('.show_hide5').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv5").slideToggle();
});
$(".slidingDiv6").hide();
$(".show_hide6").show();
$('.show_hide6').click(function () {
$(".slidingDiv6").slideToggle();
});
});
</script>
Not completely sure if this is what you're going for, but something like this might work:
HTML:
<img class="div1" src=...>
<img class="div2" src=...>
<img class="div3" src=...>
<!-- more images can go here -->
<div class="div1">text1</div>
<div class="div2">text2</div>
<div class="div3">text3</div>
<!-- more divs to display go here -->
JQuery:
$("img").click(function () {
$("div").slideUp(190); // hide divs previously shown
var divSelect = $(this).attr('class'); // get class of div to show
$("div."+divSelect).delay(200).slideDown(); // show div after other slides up
});
WORKING EXAMPLE
I am still working on simplifying it, but it works. You will have to repeat it to every div, giving different selector names. When I figure a loop out, I will let you know.
Good luck!
<!--HTML starts-->
<div class="med-wrap-video">
<div> <p class="body-text"> <iframe width="100%" height="100%" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6z9KMHt-Ta4" frameborder="1" allowfullscreen> </iframe>
<br>
Read More</p>
<br>
<span class="selector1">
<p class="body-text">
Title: <br>
Composer: <br>
Year: <br>
</p>
</span>
</div>
</div>
<!--JS begins-->
$(document).ready(function(){
$(".selector1").hide();
$(".a selector").click(function(event){
event.preventDefault(); //prevents page to reload
$(".selector1").slideToggle(600);
$(this).toggleClass(".selector1");
});
The following function toggles a div when clicked on the relative id. Any way to set it up so that when the page loads, the div being toggled starts out closed?
I dont want them to be seen until clicked on.
Best,
Joey
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#architects").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-architects").toggle();
});
$("#international").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-international").toggle();
});
$("#designers").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-designers").toggle();
});
$("#historical").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-historical").toggle();
});
});
</script>
Just hide them on dom ready, like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".exclusive-architects, .exclusive-international,
.exclusive-designers, .exclusive-historical").hide();
$("#architects").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-architects").toggle();
});
$("#international").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-international").toggle();
});
$("#designers").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-designers").toggle();
});
$("#historical").click(function() {
$(".exclusive-historical").toggle();
});
});
</script>
You should just need to add a display:none to your starting CSS
DEMO
if your HTML looks like this:
<div id="buttons">
<div>toggle architects</div>
<div>toggle international</div>
<div>toggle designers</div>
<div>toggle historical</div>
</div>
<div class="cont"> architects content </div>
<div class="cont"> international content </div>
<div class="cont"> designers content </div>
<div class="cont"> historical content </div>
Than all you need is:
$('.cont').hide(); // HIDE ALL INITIALLY
$('#buttons div').click(function(){
$('.cont').eq( $(this).index() ).toggle();
});
$(function(){ // DOM ready
$(".exclusive-architects").hide();
$(".exclusive-international").hide();
$(".exclusive-designers").hide();
$(".exclusive-historical").hide();
});
it should work :)
Right,
I'm trying to use jQuery to show a paragraph when peoplel or hovering or clicking the image on top of the paragraph, Here is what I got so far:
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.1/jquery.min.js"type="text/javascript"></script>
<script>
jQuery.noConflict;
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
//Hide the tooglebox when page load
jQuery(".toggle").hide();
//slide up and down when hover over img
jQuery("img").click(function(){
// slide toggle effect set to slow you can set it to fast too.
jQuery(this).next(".toggle").slideToggle("slow");
return true;
});
});
</script>
<p>Welcome!</p>
<h2>Choose your category</h2>
<div id="front-page">
<div id="front-page-row">
<div id="front-page-cell">
<p><img src="images/running.png" alt="Running" class="category"/></p>
<p class="toggle">List of events<br/>bldasfblda<br/>bdwfbwef</p>
</div>
<div id="front-page-cell">
<p><img src="images/mtb.png" alt="MountainBike" class="category"/></p>
<p class="toggle">List of events<br/>bldasfblda<br/>bdwfbwef</p>
</div>
<div id="front-page-cell">
<p><img src="images/music.png" alt="Music" class="category"/></p>
<p class="toggle">List of events<br/>bldasfblda<br/>bdwfbwef</p>
</div>
</div>
</div>
Nothing happens when I click the image
I would first hide the .toggle elements with CSS, so they're immediately made invisible. Secondly, I would avoid using #front-page-cell over and over as an ID, and instead convert it to a classname, and use it as a CSS selector.
<style>
.toggle { display: none }
</style>
<script>
jQuery.noConflict();
jQuery(function($){
$(".front-page-cell").on("click", "img.category", function(){
$(this).closest(".front-page-cell").find(".toggle").toggle("slow");
});
});
</script>
Demo: http://jsbin.com/evomay/edit#javascript,html
I think for your code part is suppose to be like below:
<script>
jQuery.noConflict;
jQuery(document).ready(function(){
//Hide the tooglebox when page load
jQuery(".toggle").hide();
//slide up and down when hover over img
jQuery("img").click(function(){
// slide toggle effect set to slow you can set it to fast too.
jQuery(this).parent().next(".toggle").slideToggle("slow");
return true;
});
});
</script>
Because next(selecetor) is looking for sibling. And .toggle is sibling of p that parent of img
