Getting the initialisation object from DataTables - javascript

With my previous question on tables - Array to Object with Values in a Range, I have a question. The problem with the previous approach is I have been doing the stuff in normal HTML Tables, and the implementation here is in DataTables. So I thought of taking this approach of:
Kill the DataTables.
Apply my class addition.
Re-Initialise the DataTables.
In order for me to do this, I need to have the parameters with which the DataTables are initialised. To explain this with an example, let's say I have a DataTable instance, and I kill it, do something and now I need the original object like below:

So when I kill the DT and do something, I need to find the same object again. Is it possible? I am happy to clarify if it is not clear.


From the manual of DataTable().init(), it does have an option. You need to use:
$("#example").DataTable().init();
Although, this will not give you the exact initialisation object that you have used it before you initialised it, at least you can get to make the same DataTable configuration as how it was before it was killed. A snippet to demonstrate the same is as follows:

Hiding certain elements in DataTables

I'm trying to hide certain elements from a table I implemented via DataTable.
I got the search function disabled but now I'm struggling with the "Show entries" bit.
I need the function in the backend for the table to work properly, I just dont want the frontend user to see the menu (since it is not really necessary).
I tried so far to block the display, but that didnt work.
The code so far:

You are looking for the dom option of datatables.net
In this case the standard is lfrtip I think, where;
l is the length control.
f is the search filter.
Removing these from the string will not inject that element into the page.

How to filter rows by id and redraw datatable

I'd like to filter the datatable rows by an array of ids and redraw the filtered table. However, I could not get it to work by any combination of rows(...).invalidate().data().draw(...).
Here is a toy example
The JS snippet to show the rows 1, 4, and 10:

My expected output would be to see only those 3 rows but I still see the full table.
I was also thinking about an ID column that I wouldn't show but could use for searching purposes only by column(0).search(id_column in ids)

Use table.data() to get the current data.
Apply a custom filter() to get the desired rows.

If you want to filter your data, then you can use column().search() to find the rows with your data:

Here, the code would search all rows with data "London" in the second column and re-draw the table.
To filter based on row index, you can add a custom filter and filter your data table based on that.

For the result, it should show the "Alert" every time users reorder the columns. Is there anything that I miss?

Have a look
column-reorder is an event which fires when Columns have been reordered by the end user or API. Please note - this property requires the ColReorder extension for DataTables.
I change your code like this:
$(document).ready( function () {
$('#example').DataTable({
colReorder: true
});
} );
And it starts re-ordering.
Also your event handler is perfect but Live Datatables JS bin may not support alert, better do something like this (Alert is past, use console.log*):
table.on( 'column-reorder', function ( e, settings, details ) {
console.log('Hey!! You are fired, column-reorder');
});
For better debugging always track your console.

I want to export the Data from data table, I've tried everything I could, I've read All the questions and answers of stackoverflow and the documentation about those buttons issues till the google's second page,

I've hardly managed to find out the real issue, That each of the <th> element of <thead> inside <table> was not necessarily shown. Some of them were hidden with .hide() function of jquery.
I've exported the data as it is, But every hidden <th> were exported, So I guessed the <tr> of <tbody> should match the <th> of <thead>.
How did I fix this ?
We should be always aware of matching <th> and <tr> with the same properties and attributes, Like if <th> is hidden then relevant <tr> tag also should have the proper style="display:none" attribute. Avoid mismatching the header and data.

Getting your jquery datatable to sort DESC by first column. Or setting another column as its default sortby

I've been trying to figure this out now for a few hours and its not happening. When I load my table I need for it to sort desc on the first col. Here's what I have but no luck.
