when i scroll the page, i want to add class active menu item.
i can get the current div id like this var currSection = $(this).attr('id'). im stuck with id and data-id matching.
here is the codes. ty for helping guys.
$(document).scroll(function() {
var cutoff = $(window).scrollTop();
$('div').each(function(){
if($(this).offset().top + $(this).height() > cutoff){
$('div').removeClass('current');
$(this).addClass('current');
var currSection = $(this).attr('id');
console.log(currSection);
if ($('.circle li').data('id') == currSection) {
};
return false;
}
});
});
ul{
position:fixed;
z-index:9;
top:0;
}
.active{
color:red;
}
div{
height:500px;
}
div:nth-child(odd){
background:green;
}
div:nth-child(even){
background:blue;
}
<div id="home"></div>
<div id="who"></div>
<div id="team"></div>
<div id="why"></div>
<div id="contact"></div>
<ul class="circle">
<li data-id="home" class="active">a</li>
<li data-id="who">b</li>
<li data-id="team">c</li>
<li data-id="why">d</li>
<li data-id="contact">f</li>
</ul>
Change scroll event listener to this
$(document).scroll(function () {
var cutoff = $(window).scrollTop();
$('div').each(function () {
if ($(this).offset().top + $(this).height() > cutoff) {
$('div').removeClass('current');
$(this).addClass('current');
var currSection = $(this).attr('id');
console.log(currSection);
$('li').removeClass('active');
$('li[data-id=' + currSection + ']').addClass('active');
return false;
}
});
});
I have a fixed div on the page which contains a logo and as the user scrolls and this logo passes over other divs I wnat to the change the colour of the logo.
I have this working over a single div but need to it work across multiple so any help appreciated.
The WIP site can be seen here... dd.mintfresh.co.uk - if you scroll down you'll (hopefully) see the logo change from black to white as it crosses an illustrated egg. I need the same to happen when it crosses other divs further down the page.
The script so far...
jQuery(window).scroll(function(){
var fixed = jQuery("logo");
var fixed_position = jQuery("#logo").offset().top;
var fixed_height = jQuery("#logo").height();
var toCross_position = jQuery("#egg").offset().top;
var toCross_height = jQuery("#egg").height();
if (fixed_position + fixed_height < toCross_position) {
jQuery("#logo img").css({filter : "invert(100%)"});
} else if (fixed_position > toCross_position + toCross_height) {
jQuery("#logo img").css({filter : "invert(100%)"});
} else {
jQuery("#logo img").css({filter : "invert(0%)"});
}
}
);
Any help appreciated. Thanks!
you need to fire a div scroll event. you can assign
$("div1").scroll(function(){
//change the color of the div1
}
});
$("div2").scroll(function(){
//change the color of the div2
}
});
or you can assign a class to divs which you want to change the color
$(".div").scroll(function(){
//change the color of the div which you are scrolling now
}
});
You can use like this :-
$(window).scroll(function() {
var that = $(this);
$('.section').each(function() {
var s = $(this);
if (that.scrollTop() >= s.position().top) {
if(s.hasClass('active')) {
$('.logo').addClass('invert');
} else {
$('.logo').removeClass('invert');
}
}
});
});
body {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
}
div {
background: #f00;
height: 400px;
}
.logo {
position: fixed;
top: 0;
left: 0;
width: 100px;
}
.logo.invert {
filter: invert(100%);
}
div:nth-child(even) {
background: #ff0;
}
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/2.1.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
<img src="https://dd.mintfresh.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/DD_logo.svg" class="logo" />
<div id="page1" class="section"></div>
<div id="page2" class="section active"></div>
<div id="page3" class="section"></div>
<div id="page4" class="section active"></div>
<div id="page5" class="section"></div>
As your site code you can do like this :
$(window).scroll(function() {
var that = $(this);
$('#content > section').each(function() {
var s = $(this);
if (that.scrollTop() >= s.position().top) {
if(s.hasClass('black')) {
$('#logo img').css({filter: 'invert(0%)'});
} else {
$('#logo img').css({filter: 'invert(100%)'});
}
}
});
});
I have added 2 codes here the window.scroll works on my example but not the second one binding the div to the scroll.
Any one knows what am I doing wrong!?
Just so you know I'm working in MeteorJS <- I dont think that this is the problem bc. the window scrolling works.
This 2 codes are in the same js file.
$(window).scroll(function() {
lastSession = Session.get('c_info')[Session.get('c_info').current]
if(lastSession.list == 0 && $(window).height() + $(window).scrollTop() >= $(document).height()){
lastItem = $( ".list-item div:last" ).html();
if (lastSession.page == 1){
currentSession().more();
lastItem2 = $( ".list-item div:last" ).html();
} else if( lastItem2 != lastItem) {
currentSession().more();
lastItem2 = $( ".list-item div:last" ).html()
}
}
});
$('#playlist').bind('scroll',function() {
console.log("div is scrolling");
});
I tried this too:
$('#playlist').scroll(function() {
console.log("div is scrolling");
});
MeteorJS Template:
<template name="playList">
<div id="playlist" class="playlist show-for-large-up">
{{#each list}}
<a href="/video/{{_id}}" class="large-12 columns" id="pl{{v_id}}">
<div>
<div class="large-7 columns plRight">
<span>{{vTitle}}</span>
</div>
</div>
</a>
{{/each}}
</div>
</template>
Also Tried:
$('#playlist').on('scroll',function() {console.log('test')});// not working
Tried to Change the id name and putting on the document ready:
$( document ).ready(function (){
$('#pl_list').bind('scroll',function() {
console.log("div is scrolling");
});
})//failed
The div has a scrollbar and the list is long and i have a css like this:
.playlist {
padding: 0;
overflow-y: scroll;
height: 458px;
}
Also tried:
Template.playList.rendered = function () {
console.log("playlist rendered");// i can see this on logs this tells that template is in doom
Meteor.setTimeout(function(){
$('#playlist').on('scroll',function(){
console.log('Scrolling...');
});
}, 2000);// with settimeout i have giveng it 2 more seconds
}
Try this out -
$(document).ready(function(){
$('#playlist').on('scroll',function(){
console.log('Scrolling...');
});
});
Use
$('#playlist').scroll(function() {
console.log("div is scrolling");
});
instead (like you did for window).
Thats the purpose of scroll(). See jquery documentation.
Scrolling event is fired on the element, if it has scrolled. So if you only scrolling the "body" element of the DOM it will not be triggered for #playlist.
So you have put a scrollbar to the container element of #playlist. Shot answer, cut the height and add a scrollbar, then the event will fire on it.
I did a Jsfiddle http://jsfiddle.net/34j0qnpg/4/
html
<div id="playlist-wrapper">
<div id="playlist" class="playlist show-for-large-up">
<a href="/video/1" class="large-12 columns" id="pl1">
<div>
<div class="large-7 columns plRight">
<span>Titel</span>
</div>
</div>
</a>
css part
body, html {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
background-color: lightgrey;
color: #fff;
font-family: Arial;
height: 5000px;
overflow-y:scroll;
}
#stats {
position: relative;
}
#playlist-wrapper {
border: 1px solid #000;
padding: 10px;
height: 300px;
overflow-y: scroll;
}
#playlist {
height: 1000px;
background-color: darkgrey;
}
var $stats = $('#stats');
$('#playlist-wrapper').on('scroll', function() {
$stats.html('playlist scrolling');
console.log('playlist scrolling');
});
$(window).on('scroll', function() {
$stats.html('window scrolling');
console.log('window scrolling');
});
Solved with this code:
Tried it earlyer no results, after meteorjs project reset it just automagicly workded:
Template.playList.rendered = function () {
console.log("playlist rendered");
$('#playlist').on('scroll',function(){
console.log('Scrolling...');
});
}
I answered my question just if anybody is searching for the same answer.
Thanks to anybody who tried to help me.

I am using drag-select for drag resize.Any help should be Appreciated.
Seems like a strange bug/conflict with jquery ui dragable and/or resizeable. Only some parts of selectable are working in combination with these other two functions. If you inspect the elements which have all three functions and you try to select one of them it only gets the "ui-selecting" class, which is a timeout class and option from selectable but stoping there. Normally the classes are replaced in this way:
ui-selectee
ui-selecting
ui-selected.
If you remove the drag- and resizeable functions the selectable stuff is working normally (but there still other bugs in your code)
I guess it is possible to combine all these function, but you will have to play around with the options and callbacks to get it working like you want to. Maybe not everything you want is possible becouse of these conflicts.
The easiest way to resize is by using resize:both; , max-height:__px; , max-width:__px; in CSS
Indeed it seems that jquery ui draggable and selectable don't work that nice together. However other people have posted solutions. Please look at the following,
http://words.transmote.com/wp/20130714/jqueryui-draggable-selectable/
http://jsfiddle.net/6f9zW/light/ (this is from the article above)
Since it seems as a nice working solution that examines the state when dragging and selecting, i will also post it below in case the site goes down.
JS
// this creates the selected variable
// we are going to store the selected objects in here
var selected = $([]), offset = {top:0, left:0};
$( "#selectable > div" ).draggable({
start: function(ev, ui) {
if ($(this).hasClass("ui-selected")){
selected = $(".ui-selected").each(function() {
var el = $(this);
el.data("offset", el.offset());
});
}
else {
selected = $([]);
$("#selectable > div").removeClass("ui-selected");
}
offset = $(this).offset();
},
drag: function(ev, ui) {
var dt = ui.position.top - offset.top, dl = ui.position.left - offset.left;
// take all the elements that are selected expect $("this"), which is the element being dragged and loop through each.
selected.not(this).each(function() {
// create the variable for we don't need to keep calling $("this")
// el = current element we are on
// off = what position was this element at when it was selected, before drag
var el = $(this), off = el.data("offset");
el.css({top: off.top + dt, left: off.left + dl});
});
}
});
$( "#selectable" ).selectable();
// manually trigger the "select" of clicked elements
$( "#selectable > div" ).click( function(e){
if (e.metaKey == false) {
// if command key is pressed don't deselect existing elements
$( "#selectable > div" ).removeClass("ui-selected");
$(this).addClass("ui-selecting");
}
else {
if ($(this).hasClass("ui-selected")) {
// remove selected class from element if already selected
$(this).removeClass("ui-selected");
}
else {
// add selecting class if not
$(this).addClass("ui-selecting");
}
}
$( "#selectable" ).data("selectable")._mouseStop(null);
});
// starting position of the divs
var i = 0;
$("#selectable > div").each( function() {
$(this).css({
top: i * 42
});
i++;
});
CSS
#selectable .ui-selecting {background: #FECA40;}
#selectable .ui-selected {background: #F39814; color: white;}
#selectable {margin: 0; padding: 0; height: 300px; position: relative; padding:0; border:solid 1px #DDD;}

.ui-selectable-helper {position: absolute; z-index: 100; border:1px dotted black;}
HTML

<div class="ui-widget-content">Item 2</div>
<div class="ui-widget-content">Item 3</div>

Is there a JQuery plugin which combines Draggable and Selectable
jQuery UI : Combining Selectable with Draggable
I have found A solution Now we can use *Drag-Resize-Select -*together
Example-
code:-
CSS:-
.ui-selecting {background: #FECA40;}
.ui-selected {background: #F39814; color: white;}
.bg_section {margin: 0; padding: 0; height: 300px; position: relative; padding:0; border:solid 1px #DDD;}
.bg_section > div {position: absolute; margin: 0; padding:10px; border:solid 1px #CCC; width: 100px;}
.ui-selectable-helper {position: absolute; z-index: 100; border:1px dotted black;}
JS:-
var selected = $([]); // list of selected objects
var lastselected = ''; // for the shift-click event
$(document).ready(function(){
$( "#dialog-form" ).dialog({

I've written an image scroller in html/css/js, a very simple one: right button is clicked, I go through all images inside "holder"-div and change the class of the image after the one with classname="current".
But that's not where the problem lies, I think. Whenever I successively click on the left or the right button, the image in the div gets selected (blue selection box). If I successively click the left button, even the text above it gets selected.
<div class="grid_4 omega image_box">
<div id="txt_choose" class="image_txt">
this is helpful text
</div>
<div id="alt_spacer"></div>
<div id="image_content" class="image_content" onclick="chooseImageType(this)">
<div id="current" class="current"><img src="images/default1.png" /></div>
<div id="current" class="hidden"><img src="images/default2.png" /></div>
</div>
<!--- left button --->
<div class="image_btn_left" onclick="showPrev()"></div>
<!--- right button --->
<div class="image_btn_right" onclick="showNext()"></div>
</div>
and this is the css:
.image_btn_right
{
width : 20px;
height : 20px;
position : relative;
float : left;
margin-top : -170px;
margin-left : 260px;
z-index : 4;
cursor : pointer;
background-image: url('../images/right.png');
}
.image_btn_left
{
width : 20px;
height : 20px;
position : relative;
float : left;
margin-top : -170px;
margin-left : 20px;
z-index : 4;
cursor : pointer;
background-image: url('../images/left.png');
}
.image_content
{
height : 280px;
background-color: white;
margin : 10px;
}
on request, my javascript:
function showNext()
{
//vars
var shown = false;
var current;
$('#image_content > div').each(function()
{
if($(this).attr('class') == "current")
{
current = $(this);
shown = true;
}
else if($(this).attr('class') == "hidden" && shown == true)
{
current.hide();
current.attr('class', 'prev');
current.attr('id', '');
$(this).show();
$(this).attr('class', 'current');
$(this).attr('id', 'current');
shown = false;
}
});
}
Is there anyway to stop the image and the text above to be selected like that (without actually making them not selectable)?
Could it be because of the relative position of the buttons and their z-index..?
This works in your JS fiddle.
function showNext()

{
current.hide();
current.attr('class', 'prev');
current.attr('id', '');
$(this).show();
$(this).attr('class', 'current');
$(this).attr('id', 'current');
shown = false;
}
});
}
function showPrev()
{
window.getSelection().removeAllRanges();
//vars
var prev_present = false;
var prev;
$('#image_content > div').each(function()
{
if($(this).attr('class') == "prev")
{
prev = $(this);
prev_present = true;
}
else if($(this).attr('class') == "current" && prev_present == true)
{
$(this).hide();
$(this).attr('class', 'hidden');
$(this).attr('id', '');
prev.show();
prev.attr('class', 'current');
prev.attr('id', 'current');
prev_present = false;
}
});

I found the answer and it was painfully easy.. >_>
I just needed to wrap the buttons in another div, so they became more eperated from the rest of the html.
Like so:
<div>
<!--- left button --->
<div class="image_btn_left" onclick="showPrev()"></div>
<!--- right button --->
<div class="image_btn_right" onclick="showNext()"></div>
</div>
