trumbowyg plugin won't post

I'm using the WYSIWYG editor trumbowyg to supplement the fact that our CMS sucks. The plan is to help out our authors with the HTML without removing the current system they have in place, which is just a plain form with an textarea for article content.
Unfortunately, after activating trumbowyg on the textarea, nothing posts with it, no matter what I do.
When I say "nothing posts", I mean that the form worked before I added the JavaScript to it, and stopped working after, and I am referring to PHP's $_POST array.
Here's what I've tried (although before I was just doing the basics listed on their website):

I did start with the following, which didn't work:

I was having a similar issue and couldn't find a solution anywhere. After submitting my question to Alex (the author of Trumbowyg), I realized the answer was staring me in the face in the Trumbowyg docs. See https://github.com/Alex-D/Trumbowyg/issues/341 .

submitting form using jquery

got a problem and cant find the solution.
I am writing a chat. When a new user opens my site (a new session) a div popes out and the user is asked to fill in his name.
The form works fine when I use an input submit. I want it to work without the submit button, I want it to work when i press a div.
here is my code
html:

nevermind is correct - no problem with that code.

Maybe you problem is that the id "form" is to general a name, and you already used it for another form.
Another thing, why not use a button or a link? You can style it like you want. Be careful when you use thing for what they are not suppose to be used for, it my give unexpected side effects.
In your case, you may only be able to login to you chat using a mouse, that would exclude blind people. You would also not be able to use the tabulater to get to the login "button". And last, if you are blind and uses a screen reader your would actually not know that there is at login "button", as the reader would not recognize the div as something you can click.
I would recomend using the button-tag like this
<button id="enter">Submit</button>
Or the a-tag like this
<a href id="enter">Submit</a>
If you don't like the predefined styling of them you may always override the styling.

Can i use JS to replace a GET-parameter with a Post in a link?

I'm working with an old ASP WebForms page in which there is a link which opens in a new windo using javascript. This link includes a GET-parameter, like this:

What I would like to do is replace this GET-parameter with a Post-variable in order to avoid the value of MyId being stored in the browser-history. Possibly something like:

Note: Since this is a webforms page, the whole contents of the page is within a pair of <form>...</form> tags which post back to the page itself, and I don`t want to mess with these. The page I would like to link to is another page.
My question: Is there some fairly simple, clean and safe way to pass along a Post-variable from within a link like this? I would prefer to do this without including any third-party java script libraries if possible (I want to minimize the necessary changes to an aging system).
Any ideas?

Add your MyId in your form:
<input type="hidden" id="MyId" name="MyId" value="123">
Then your hyperlink:
Search for object
Then use javascript to change your form action:
function submit(){
[Your Form].action = "[Your Action]";
[Your Form].submit();
}
The form submits but as the page refreshes, the form action goes back to what it was before. But this could depend to where you point back your new action. You could add something to handle the response. This is the easiest solution if you ask me. But for the cleanest, you should try reading about AJAX.

Iframe and firefox problems

I am designing a simple Rich Text Editor using HTML/Javascript. It uses iframe. While it is working great in IE6 (and possibly newer IE versions), it is broken in FireFox. The iframe cannot be edited or used in any way.
The HTML <body>

The above script makes iframe editable in IE. Fails to do so in FF. So I changed a few things for FF version-
The Javascript (for FF)

This section of code makes FF provoke an pop-up alert with a blank page as a target. It's still broken. What now follows are general functions for things like id() and fontEdit()-

I'm sure FF doesn't handle iframe this way. So how do I get iframe to be used as a Rich Text Editor and without showing pop-ups. Please try your best to avoid jQuery since I'm not that good in it yet. Which is why the custom functions like id() and tag() exists.
And, I'm aware that there are other freely available Text Editors for me to download and use so please do not suggest me any such solutions and do not ask me why I must re-invent the wheel. Only answer if you know where I am going wrong and if you can actually help me fix the problem.

FF provoke an pop-up alert with a blank page as a target because you are calling the function window.open, instead you shoud call document.open.
window.open: opens a new browser window.
document.open: It opens an output stream to collect the output from any document.write() or document.writeln() methods. Once all the writes are performed, the document.close() method causes any output written to the output stream to be displayed.
Note: If a document already exists in the target, it will be cleared.

Javascript URL inside an iframe does not execute in Firefox

I have written this code for Firefox:

It correctly displays the alert box.
However, when i run this inside an iframe, with this code:

i don't get the alert box, not even if i click the submit button myself.
What is going on exactly? The same code works in Chromium

Well, don't do that then!
It doesn't make any sense to submit a form to a javascript: URL. Use a submit event handler to pick up the form submission and execute script, eg using jQuery:
$('#someform').submit(function() {
alert('Yes');
return false;
});
A good rule of thumb about when to use javascript: URLs is: never.

It looks like it's a problem with FF4 so I'll discuss it on their bugzilla if it's really their fault. I have modified the source so I'm not even sure it is a bug...
