I have a json object of this type:
jsonObject={visits:'3',
v1:{'timestamp':'1231313.311',
'time_year':'2011',
'time_month':'Jan',
'time_date':'15'
'X_value':'X'
},
v2:{'timestamp':'1231313.311',
'time_year':'2011',
'time_month':'Jan',
'time_date':'15'
'X_value':'Y'
},
v3:{'timestamp':'534224242.311',
'time_year':'2011',
'time_month':'Feb',
'time_date':'5',
'X_value':'Z'
}
}
Now i want to convert this into a format like...
JsonObject={'2011':{'Jan':{'15':['X','Y']
},
'Feb':{'5':'Z'
},
}
}
How can i do that...I ve tried iterating over the first JSONObject and taking out year,month,and date values but i am not able to create a new JSONObject from that data.
Thanks in advance.
If you've tried iterating the original object, you're probably not far from done. You just need to create the new object:
var newObject = {};
for(var key in jsonObject) {
if(key == 'visits')
continue;
var year = jsonObject[key]['time_year'];
var month = jsonObject[key]['time_month'];
var date = jsonObject[key]['time_date'];
if(!(year in newObject))
newObject[year] = {};
if(!(month in newObject[year]))
newObject[year][month] = {};
if(!(date in newObject[year][month]))
newObject[year][month][date] = [];
newObject[year][month][date].push(jsonObject[key]['X_value']);
}

I have a problem adding the object "myobj" to the arrays data / data2. As you see "myobj" a JS object which I would like to add to either data or data2. the functions are being triggered by clicks on different buttons.
console.log of myobj shows me
{ array: "arr_id_1", axis: "x", acc: "", vel: "", dist: "", jerk: "" }
I receive an error saying data2.splice() is not a function.
which is the format I need. "myobj" is supposed to be added to an array which I want to use JSON.stringify on. This JSON literal goes then to a python script via ajax. The array "data" is being filled with each click I perform correctly but not in the format for further processing. So I tried to fill array data2 since I have read that I could use .splice() as well. Unfortunately, console.log(data2) shows "undefined" for each field I try to fill and I have no idea how to solve it.
I tried to use JSON.stringify on "myobj" and as another attempt, I have tried to JSON.parse it back again. I tried adding the brackets and colons into quotes but no success either.
I am grateful for any advice or help.
var counterx = 0;
let data = [];
let data2 = {};
function valuesX() {
counterx++;
// does something here
let arr_id = [];
arr_id.name = 'arr_id_' + counterx;
let ind = counterx - 1;
let myobj;
function arr() {
var ind = sel.selectedIndex;
var axis = sel.options[ind].text;
arr_id.length = 0;
arr_id.push(arr_id.name, axis, btna.value, btnv.value, btns.value, btnj.value)
myobj = {
array: arr_id[0],
axis: arr_id[1],
acc: arr_id[2],
vel: arr_id[3],
dist: arr_id[4],
jerk: arr_id[5]
};
console.log(arr_id.name, arr_id)
console.log(myobj)
console.log(data.name, data)
console.log(data2.name, data2)
}
data.name = 'data';
data2.name = 'data2';
data.splice(ind, 0, arr_id)
data2.splice(ind, 0, myobj)
}
SOLUTION:
I have converted the myobj to an object using Answer from JVE999, first suggestion and used .splice() to add the every new myobj to the array data. I have used splice because I need to overwrite already existing elements while keeping the order (Thus the indx) when I trigger the function (.splice() reference).
var arr_id = [];
arr_id.name = 'arr_id_'+counterx;
var myobj;
var indx = counterx-1;
var data_new;
data.name = 'data';
function arr(){
var ind = sel.selectedIndex;
var axis = sel.options[ind].text;
arr_id.length = 0;
arr_id.push(arr_id.name, axis, btna.value, btnv.value,btns.value, btnj.value)
myobj = {
array:arr_id[0],
axis:arr_id[1],
acc:arr_id[2],
vel:arr_id[3],
dist:arr_id[4],
jerk:arr_id[5]
};
data_new = convArrToObj(myobj);
data.splice(indx, 1, data_new)
data_str = JSON.stringify(data)
console.log(data.name, data)
console.log(data_str)
}
I have JSON stringify data like this :
[{"availability_id":"109465","date":"2017-02-21","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109466","date":"2017-02-22","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109467","date":"2017-02-23","price":"430000"}]
I want to get only price value of that data. I have tried this way but it doesn't work.
var stringify = JSON.stringify(values);
for(var i = 0; i < stringify.length; i++)
{
alert(stringify[i]['price']);
}
How could I to do that ?
This code will only fetch the price details.
var obj = '[{"availability_id":"109465","date":"2017-02-21","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109466","date":"2017-02-22","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109467","date":"2017-02-23","price":"430000"}]';
var stringify = JSON.parse(obj);
for (var i = 0; i < stringify.length; i++) {
console.log(stringify[i]['price']);
}
Observation :
If you want to parse the array of objects to get the property value you have to convert in into JSON object first.
DEMO
var jsonStringify = '[{"availability_id":"109465","date":"2017-02-21","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109466","date":"2017-02-22","price":"430000"},{"availability_id":"109467","date":"2017-02-23","price":"430000"}]';
var jsonObj = JSON.parse(jsonStringify);
for(var i = 0; i < jsonObj.length; i++)
{
alert(jsonObj[i]['price']);
}
you will geting a stringified object like this
var obj='[{"availability_id":"109465","date":"2017-02-21","price":"430000"},
{"availability_id":"109466","date":"2017-02-22","price":"430000"},
{"availability_id":"109467","date":"2017-02-23","price":"430000"}]';
parse your obj using JSON.parse(object)
then apply this loop ad let me know it get any error
lie this
var parseObject = JSON.parse(object);
instead of using stringify before selecting the data you should use your loop directly on the values array.
For example :
var priceArray = array();
values.forEach (data) {
alert(data['price'];
priceArray.push(data['price']);
}
stringify = JSON.stringify(values);
stringifiedPriceArray = JsON.stringify(priceArray);
Once stringified, you can't reach the data in your array
Following is JSON notation returned by Response::json() function from Laravel:
{
"area":["zone1","zone2","zone3"],
"target":["7.91","4.95","2.95"],
"sales":["12.35","6.99","4.13"]
}
How can i get 'area' as category, target and sales as series for highcharts(column) using javascript?
For example, how can i get following:
var cat=['zone1','zone2', 'zone3'];
var series1=[7.91, 4.95,2.95];
var series2=[12.35,6.99,4.13];
There are a few ways you can do this. If you are using pure javascript you can do something like
cat = new Array();
series1 = new Array();
series2 = new Array();
for (var value in data["area"])
{
cat.push(data["area"][value]);
}
for (var value in data["target"])
{
series1.push(data["target"][value]);
}
for (var value in data["sales"])
{
series2.push(data["sales"][value]);
}
Or if you want a solution using jQuery then you can do something like:
var cat = $.map(data["area"], function(value,key) { return value; });
var series1 = $.map(data["target"], function(value,key) { return value; });
var series2 = $.map(data["sales"], function(value,key) { return value; });
Both solutions will give you an output of:
["zone1", "zone2", "zone3"]
["7.91", "4.95", "2.95"]
["12.35", "6.99", "4.13"]
Edit
So the data I used was the same JSON object that you provided where every value is a string, but your desired output (and the output Highcharts will want) is the series data in Numeric form so you will need to take that into account.
I guess it can help you.
var data = {
"area":["zone1","zone2","zone3"],
"target":["7.91","4.95","2.95"],
"sales":["12.35","6.99","4.13"]
};
var cat = data.area;
var series1 = data.target;
var series2 = data.sales;
So i have this JSON:
{
"id_u":"1",
"nombre_usuario":"JESUS",
"apellido_paterno_usuario":"DIAZ"
}
I just want to access to the fields names
id_u,_nombre_usuario,apellido_paterno_usuario
And then, create an array with that info.
How can i do that?
Thanks guys
Do this way :
var keyValuePair = {
"id_u":"1",
"nombre_usuario":"JESUS",
"apellido_paterno_usuario":"DIAZ"
};
var arr =new Array();
for (key in keyValuePair){
arr.push(key); // for keys
// arr.push(keyValuePair[key]); // for values
}
Use .each() to parse JSON.
Try this:
var keyArray = [];
var a = {
"id_u":"1",
"nombre_usuario":"JESUS",
"apellido_paterno_usuario":"DIAZ"
};
$.each(a,function(i,v){
keyArray.push(i); // i is json key and v is json value.
});
console.log(keyArray);
DEMO
Object.keys(jsonObject) is enough.
I'm having a little problem here, i have an array like this:
function crearObjetos()
{
var palabraPeso = "peso";
var palabraFecha = "Fecha";
var localStorageKey000 = "objetosPesoFecha";
var contador = 0;
var pesoFecha = new Array(); //THE ARRAY
while(contador < 365)
{
var nuevoObjeto = new Object;
var fechaActual = new Date();
nuevoObjeto.peso = 0;
nuevoObjeto.fecha = fechaActual;
nuevoObjeto.id = contador;
pesoFecha[contador] = nuevoObjeto; //SAVE OBJECTs IN THE ARRAY
contador = contador +1;
}
if (Modernizr.localstorage)
{
localStorage.setItem(localStorageKey000, pesoFecha); //STORAGE THE ARRAY
}
}
The problem is that, when i try to load the array in local storage, i can't acces any data, all are "undefined" and i don't know why... Here is how i load the data from the array (in this case only the first objetc):
function damePrimerObjetoPesoFecha()
{
//LOAD THE ARRAY FROM LOCAL STORAGE
var localStorageKey000 = "objetosPesoFecha";
var arrayDeObjetos = localStorage.getItem(localStorageKey000);
//CHECK IN AN ALERT IF THE DATA IS OK
alert("El primero que devuelve"+arrayDeObjetos[0].id);
//RETURN THE FIRSTONE
return arrayDeObjetos[0];
}
An array can't be pushed into localStorage just like how it is. You have to use JSON.stringify on it. This line :
localStorage.setItem(localStorageKey000, pesoFecha);
must be changed to
localStorage.setItem(localStorageKey000, JSON.stringify(pesoFecha));
Similarly, when you're retrieving it from localStorage, you must use JSON.parse on it to convert it back to JSON. This line :
var arrayDeObjetos = localStorage.getItem(localStorageKey000);
must be :
var arrayDeObjetos = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem(localStorageKey000));
Now when you access the first data, you wont get undefined.
Another alternative to this would be jStorage plugin which is wrapper around localStorage. It will take all the parsing problems from you and do it by itself if you pass an array or object to it.
Hope this helps!
localStorage only stores data as string.
You can strinify your array into JSON and save that and then parse it back when you load it
localStorage.setItem(localStorageKey000, JSON.stringify(pesoFecha)); //STORAGE THE ARRAY
var arrayDeObjetos = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem(localStorageKey000));
LocalStorage can store strings only. You also need to remember that JSON.stringify converts date objects to string, so when deserializing via JSON.parse you need to manually create date for each object from array based on that string.
Firstly:
localStorage.setItem(localStorageKey000, JSON.stringify(pesoFecha));
and then
var arrayDeObjetos = JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem(localStorageKey000));
arrayDeObjetos.forEach(function(objecto){
objecto.fecha = new Date(objecto.fecha );
})
localstorage can only store strings.
If you want to store arrays & objects, you should convert them to JSON.
Here's a small helper:
var LS = {
set: function (key, val) {
return localStorage.setItem(key, JSON.stringify(val));
},
get: function (key) {
return JSON.parse( localStorage.getItem(key) );
}
};
Use it as follows:
// Store the array:
LS.set(localStorageKey000, pesoFecha);
// Retrieve the array:
var arrayDeObjetos = LS.get(localStorageKey000);
