I am looking for an example of a dojo enhanced grid that contains a context menu on either a cell or row menu where the cell or row data is accessed. I have managed to create an enhanced grid with a row context menu. I can create a function that captures the event of clicking on the row menu item. However, I am not sure how to access the row data in the context of the menu item handler. I have not seen any example in the tests of the nightly build. Is there an example of this available online?
I had a similar question. I wanted to create a context menu which allowed the user to remove the item that they right clicked on from the datagrid and delete the item from the datastore. Thought it should be pretty simple and with your help and some other sites, I came up with the following code.
var selectedItem; // This has to be declared "globally" outside of any functions
function onRowContextMenuFunc(e) {
grid5_rowMenu.bindDomNode(e.grid.domNode);
selectedItem = e.grid.getItem(e.rowIndex);
}
function gridRowContextMenu_onClick(e) {
store3.deleteItem(selectedItem);
}
.
<div dojoType="dijit.Menu" id="grid5_rowMenu" jsId="grid5_rowMenu" style="display: none;">
<div dojoType="dijit.MenuItem" onClick="gridRowContextMenu_onClick">Delete</div>
<div dojoType="dijit.MenuItem">Cancel</div>
</div>
.
<div id="grid" dojoType="dojox.grid.DataGrid" jsId="grid5" store="store3" structure="layoutStructure" rowsPerPage="40" onRowContextMenu="onRowContextMenuFunc"></div>
Of course, if you were programatically creating your DataGrid, you would just add onRowContextMenu: onRowContextMenuFunc to your declaration.
I figured it out. On the row context menu even, capture the row number into a global. On a click even on the menu item, retrieve the row from the global and then use it to lookup the contents of the row in the grid. I have been using this method and it has worked perfect.
Here's how to access the selected row from the context menu:
// First create a menu object to hold the various menus
var menusObject = {
// headerMenu: new dijit.Menu(),
rowMenu: new dijit.Menu()//,
// cellMenu: new dijit.Menu(),
// selectedRegionMenu: new dijit.Menu()
};
Add a menu item
menusObject.rowMenu.addChild(new dijit.MenuItem({
label: "Show me data",
onClick: function(e){
console.log(this.selectedRow)
}
}));
menusObject.rowMenu.startup();
Create the grid
var grid = new dojox.grid.EnhancedGrid({
store : store,
structure : layout,
rowsPerPage: 10,
escapeHTMLInData: false,
plugins: {
menus: menusObject
}
}, 'some are to place');
// Activate message sending from data grid row to menu items
dojo.connect(grid, 'onRowContextMenu', function(e)
{
// Set the "selectedItem" property of all of the menu items of a menu. This lets you reference the row data!!
var menuChildren = menusObject.rowMenu.getChildren();
for(var i = 0; i<menuChildren.length; i++){
menuChildren[i].selectedRow = this.getItem(e.rowIndex);
}
});

I am using Summernote editor v0.8.9 for quite a long time. I have created a custom dropdown button for Ordered List and Unordered List by using below code
let orderedList = function (context)
{
let ui = $.summernote.ui;
// create button
let button = ui.buttonGroup([
ui.button({
className: 'dropdown-toggle',
contents: '<i class="fa fa-list-ol"/><span class="note-icon-caret"></span>',
container: false,
tooltip: 'Ordered List',
data: {
toggle: 'dropdown'
}
}),
ui.dropdown({
className: 'dropdown-style',
contents: "<ol style='list-style-type:none' class='ordered-list'><li data-value='1'>1</li><li data-value='1' style='display: none;'>1)</li><li data-value='I'>I</li><li data-value='A'>A</li><li data-value='a)' style='display: none;'>a)</li><li data-value='a'>a</li><li data-value='i'>i</li></ol>",
callback: function ($dropdown) {
$dropdown.find('li').each(function () {
$(this).click(function() {
selectedListType = orderedListMap[$(this).attr('data-value')];
$(context).summernote('editor.insertOrderedList');
});
});
}
})
]);
return button.render(); // return button as jquery object
};
And also I get the dropdown attached to the toolbar as shown in the image
I have changed some code in the summernote.js to change the list style type after clicking on the dropdown item.
I am adding following code in the Bullet.prototype.wrapList method as follows
//for bullets and numbering style
if (selectedListType != 'NA') {
listNode.setAttribute('style', 'list-style-type:' + selectedListType);
}
I have also added the following code in the method "function replace(node, nodeName)" of "dom" object.
//for bullets and numbering style
if ((nodeName == 'OL' || nodeName == 'UL' ) && selectedListType != 'NA') {
$(newNode).css('list-style-type', selectedListType);
}
When I click on the dropdown item I am calling below code.
$(context).summernote('editor.insertOrderedList');
At first instance everything is working fine. I can change ordered list to unordered list as well as to other types of lists. But the problem arises when I am trying to create a new list. When I try to create a new list below the existing list (note : after double entering new line, existing list closes, hence a new list is created after double entering new line),
the focus does not stay on the current line. Instead it goes to the old list and old list style (Ordered/unordered) is getting changed.
I have also kept the default UL/OL in the toolbar for deugging and I can see that the document.selection() in the method WrappedRange.prototype.nativeRange is giving proper selection for default UL/OL but is giving wrong selection for my dropdown UL/OL.
Please help.
Let me know if any info is needed from my side
I solved this problem.
The problem was with the custom dropdown I created.
The dropdown needs to be in the following structure in the 'contents' attribute inside 'ui.dropdown'
<li>
</li>
<li>
</li>
'a' tag inside 'li' tag
I'm working on ejs-grid and I want to toggle(Expand/Collapse) a child grid when I click on a row in the grid.
I was able to get the row click functionality working using (rowSelected) attribute but I don't really know how to get the current state of a child grid(collapsed or expanded).
My Current Code
toggleChildGrid(event){
const rowIndex = event.rowIndex;
const isCollapsed = true;
if(isCollapsed){
this.grid.detailRowModule.expand(rowIndex);
}
else{
this.grid.detailRowModule.collapse(rowIndex)
}
}
I just made the isCollapsed variable true but I will like that to be derived dynamically based on the state of the child grid.
You could use a set containing row indices that are expanded, and add/remove from that list to represent if the row is expanded/collapsed
private expandedRowIndices = new Set<number>();
toggleChildGrid(event: {rowIndex: number}): void {
const rowIndex = { event };
const isExpanded = this.expandedRowIndices.has(rowIndex);
// If it is currently expanded, now collapse
if (isExpanded) {
this.grid.detailRowModule.collapse(rowIndex);
this.this.expandedRowIndices.remove(rowIndex);
} else {
this.grid.detailRowModule.expand(rowIndex);
this.this.expandedRowIndices.add(rowIndex);
}
}
Based on your shared information we suspect that you want to expand/collapse the child grid based on the current state while clicking on the row of grid. To achieve your requirement we suggest you to use our default recordClick event.
Using this event we find the current state of child grid and based on that we have collapsed and expanded using expand and collapse method.
Please refer to the below code and sample link.
recordClick(args){
const isCollapsed = (args.target.closest('tr').nextElementSibling.classList.contains('e- detailrow') && (args.target.closest('tr').nextElementSibling.style.display != 'none')) == true ? true : false;
if (!isCollapsed) {
this.grid.detailRowModule.expand(args.rowIndex);
}
else {
this.grid.detailRowModule.collapse(args.rowIndex);
}
}

I'm trying to add a new empty line in ui-grid. I've tried looking in different tuto and example, but all that I found didn't reply to my spec, and I wasn't able to adapt it to what I'm looking for.
In fact I'm looking how to add a new empty line in an existing ui-grid neither using a button outside the grid nor a button in the rowfooter.
I'm looking to add a abutton in the grid like the + button shown in the screen shot below
or may be render automatically a new empty line when the rendering the ui-grid and a new one when all rows were filled.
I tried doing that using function in cell template but it's not working.
any help is really appreciated
The first option sounds like more of a CSS issue to me. Essentially, the add button would use some sort of font library containing a +, and you would need to position it in the corner of the grid. Perhaps looking at the grid footer would be a starting place. It sounds like you've seen the basics of creating an add row button here: http://ui-grid.info/docs/#/tutorial/112_swapping_data
The second option (render automatically a new empty line when the rendering the ui-grid and a new one when all rows were filled) requires a JavaScript approach.
The basic logic I followed is:
(Assume) Some data loads from somewhere in a backend (in this sample, it's a simulated load returning a promise as $http or $resource would).
After that data is loaded, we append a new row. We wait for the data first; otherwise we'd not be pushing the new row to the correct location.
Upon completion of the edit action, we set a timeout to ensure subsequent edits on other cells do not keep firing a new row. If the timeout is reached, we append a new row. If a subsequent edit action occurs, and a timeout promise exists (for adding a new row), we cancel it. Once no edit actions occur, and the timeout is reached, we push the new row.
To ensure that we are only taking action when our "extra row" is modified, when we create a row, a reference is maintained to the current row such that we can evaluate whether or not a received event is of interest (var newRowTimeoutPromise).
The core logic in code is below, with a sample implementation in Plnkr:
var extraRow = null,
addNewTimeoutMillis = 2000,
newRowTimeoutPromise = null;
loadData().then(function(data) {
$scope.gridOpts.data = data;
}).finally(function() {
// add initial empty row, and set our reference to it
extraRow = addEmptyRow($scope.gridOpts.data);
})
$scope.gridOpts = {
showGridFooter: true,
onRegisterApi: function(gridApi) {
$scope.gridApi = gridApi;
// listen for cell edit completion
gridApi.edit.on.afterCellEdit($scope, function(rowEntity, colDef, newValue, oldValue) {
// test if the edited row was the "extra row"
// otherwise, and edit to any row would fire a new row
// Set a timeout so we don't create a new row if the user has
// not finished their edit(s) on other fields
newRowTimeoutPromise = $timeout(function() {
if (rowEntity == extraRow) {
// add a new empty row, and set our reference to it
extraRow = addEmptyRow($scope.gridOpts.data);
newRowTimeoutPromise = null;
}
}, addNewTimeoutMillis);
})
// Listen for cell edit start, and cancel if we have a pending new
// row add. Otherwise, each time you finish the edit on a cell,
// this will fire.
gridApi.edit.on.beginCellEdit($scope, function(rowEntity, colDef, newValue, oldValue) {
if (newRowTimeoutPromise != null) {
$timeout.cancel(newRowTimeoutPromise);
}
})
}
};

I used jQuery to fetch and change style of specific cell elements of the cell template.
Here is a helpful Fiddle
Here is the controller script : -
var app = angular.module('app', ['ngTouch', 'ui.grid']);
app.controller('MainCtrl', ['$scope',
function($scope) {
$scope.gridOptions = {};
$scope.Add = function() {
$scope.gridOptions.data.push( { firstName: ' ',lastName:'',company:'' });
$(".ui-grid-coluiGrid").prevObject["0"].activeElement.style.display="none";
$(".ui-grid-cell")[$scope.gridOptions.data.length-2].style.display="inline";
};
$scope.gridOptions.onRegisterApi = registerGridApi;
function registerGridApi(gridApi) {
$scope.gridApi= gridApi
};
$scope.gridOptions.columnDefs = [{
name: 'firstName',
field: 'firstName',
}, {
name: 'lastNamer',
field: 'firstName'
}, {
name: 'ShowScope',
cellTemplate: '<button id="btb" ng-click="grid.appScope.Add()">+</button>'
}];
$scope.gridOptions.data = [{ yourdata}];
}
]);
To make it work properly 2 more things have to be done
Use cellContentEditable to make the rows editable
In order to disable display style of cell template button that appears on cells corresponding to rows of already existing data,you could use angular foreach or a for loop to iterate through these rows and disable style(I tried using renderContainers but it always returns the length of rendered rows outside Add functions as 0).
I have a working plunker over here.
http://plnkr.co/edit/Vnn4K5DcCdiercc22Vry?p=preview
In columnDefs, I have defined a separate column for add:
{
name: 'add',
displayName: '',
enableCellEdit: false,
enableColumnMenu: false,
width: '3%',
cellTemplate: '<div class="ui-grid-cell-contents" ng-click="grid.appScope.addRow()"><span ng-click="grid.appScope.addRow()">Add</span></div>'
}
And
$scope.addRow= function(){
var newlist = {"remarks":'',"testName":''};
$scope.gridOptions.data.push(newlist);
}
Update: A second plunker with bootstrap icons for add/remove

I am working on setting up a scenario as following:
1) User is shown existing results on first grid
2) User can select multiple results and click an 'Edit' button which will extract the selected items from the first grid
3)Second grid will be populated with the rows the user has selected from the first grid and will allow them to make edits to the content
4)Pressing save will update the results and show the first grid with the rows updated
So far using drips and drabs of various forum threads (here and here), I have managed to accomplish the first two steps.
$("#editButton").kendoButton({
click: function () {
// extract selected results from the grid and send along with transition
var gridResults = $("#resultGrid").data("kendoGrid"); // sourceGrid
var gridConfig = $("#resultConfigGrid").data("kendoGrid"); // destinationGrid
gridResults.select().each(function () {
var dataItem = gridResults.dataItem($(this));
gridConfig.dataSource.add(dataItem);
});
gridConfig.refresh();
transitionToConfigGrid();
}
});
dataItem returns what i am expecting to see with regards to the selected item(s) - attached dataItem.png. I can see the gridConfig populating but with blank rows (gridBlankRows.png).
gridConfig setup:
$(document).ready(function () {
// build the custom column schema based on the number of lots - this can vary
var columnSchema = [];
columnSchema.push({ title: 'Date Time'});
for(var i = 0; i < $("#maxNumLots").data("value"); ++i)
{
columnSchema.push({
title: 'Lot ' + i,
columns: [{
title: 'Count'
}, {
title: 'Mean'
}, {
title: 'SD'
}]
});
}
columnSchema.push({ title: 'Comment'});
columnSchema.push({ title: 'Review Comment' });
// build the datasource with CU operations
var configDataSource = new kendo.data.DataSource({
transport: {
create: function(options) {},
update: function(options) {}
}
});
$("#resultConfigGrid").kendoGrid({
columns: columnSchema,
editable: true
});
});
I have run out of useful reference material to identify what I am doing wrong / what could be outstanding here. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Furthermore, I will also need functionality to 'Add New' results. If possible I would like to use the same grid (with a blank datasource) in order to accomplish this. The user can then add rows to the second grid and save with similar functionality to the update functionality. So if there is any way to factor this into the response, I would appreciate it.
The following example...
http://dojo.telerik.com/EkiVO
...is a modified version of...
http://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/framework/datasource/crud#examples
A couple of notes:
it matters if you are adding plain objects to the second Grid's dataSource (gridConfig.dataSource.add(dataItem).toJSON();), or Kendo UI Model objects (gridConfig.dataSource.add(dataItem);). In the first case, you will need to pass back the updated values from Grid2 to Grid1, otherwise this will occur automatically;
there is no need to refresh() the second Grid after adding, removing or changing its data items
both Grid dataSources must be configured for CRUD operations, you can follow the CRUD documentation
the Grid does not persist its selection across rebinds, so if you want to preserve the selection in the first Grid after some values have been changed, use the approach described at Persist Row Selection
I am using titanium for developing Android application. I am using following code for displaying data and using table view.When I click on comment_btn a new row get appended in table view.it works fine.But when I click back button or go to another window and again come back to same window where I added my new row that newly added row is not retain.I also tried
insertRowAfter but it gives me same result.I used following code:
for (var i=0;i<5;i++)
{
var row = Ti.UI.createTableViewRow({height:'auto',className:"row"});
var comments = Ti.UI.createLabel(
{
text:'new comment',
height:'auto',
font:{fontSize:12, fontFamily:'Helvetica Neue'},
color:'#000',
width:'auto',
textAlign:'left',
top:10,
left:40,
});row.add(comments);
}
comment_table.setData(data);
commnet.add(comment_table);
var comment_btn = Titanium.UI.createButton(
{
title:'comment',
height:60,
width:60,
bottom:-5,
left:-2,
});
comment.add(comment_btn);
var comment_box = Titanium.UI.createTextArea({
borderRadius:5,
backgroundColor:'#EEE',
editable: true,
height:30,
width:200,
top:10,
font:{fontSize:15,fontFamily:'Marker Felt'},
color:'#000',
keyboardType:Titanium.UI.KEYBOARD_DEFAULT,
returnKeyType:Titanium.UI.RETURNKEY_DEFAULT,
borderRadius:5,
});
comment.add(comment_box);
comment_btn.addEventListener('click', function()
{
comment_table.appendRow({title:comment_box.value});
//comment_table.insertRowAfter(3,{'title':comment_box.value});
}
The Object must be of type Row for: comment_table.appendRow(ROW_TYPE_OBJECT).
If you are going back(Assuming pressing back button) then current window gets closed hence
all children of that window say views, buttons, table will be removed.
Assume current window with Tableview as widnow1, Now you opens window2, And If you are
transiting from window2 to window1 then you can see table with new appended row in
window1.
Solution:
Create a global array(data[]) which holds the rows and rows which you are going to
append.
When loading current window1,check if data is null.
If data is not null then load your tableview from global array data
tableview.setData(data), else load fresh rows.
